Microcapsules based on a new liquid crystalline lightly cross-linked polyamide, in which the state of order can be triggered by means of external stimuli, such as temperature and light, were prepared by interfacial polymerization. This polyamide exhibited a nematic phase up to 166 °C and it started to decompose at 340 °C; morphological variations of the film were observed by Scanning Electron Microscopy in correspondence to the clearing temperature; moreover, by continuous irradiation with UV light at room temperature, the polymer underwent EZ photoisomerization. The prepared microcapsules contained either toluene, or concentrated solutions of naphthalene or β-carotene, as the core; in all cases, their outer surface appeared smooth and dense, while heterogeneities could be seen on the inner face. Capsule diameter lay in the range 30–120 μm, depending on the encapsulated material, with quite narrow size distributions. To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first example of microcapsules whose shell is completely constituted by a liquid crystalline lightly cross-linked polymer. Release experiments of β-carotene were performed in water and in tetrahydrofuran. β-Carotene release in water at 20 °C was strongly influenced by UV irradiation: in the absence of irradiation, it was practically negligible while, when microcapsules were submitted to continuous irradiation with UV light, β-carotene was quickly released and reached 100% release after 5 min. Preliminary experiments concerning the effect of temperature and of a swelling solvent, such as THF, on release, were also performed.  相似文献

Isotope dilution-thermal ionisation mass spectrometry (ID-TIMS) analysis has been applied to the determination of tin in a fly ash sample supplied by the EC Joint Research Centre (Ispra, Italy). The proposed procedure includes the silica gel/phosphoric acid technique for tin thermal ionisation activation and a strict heating protocol for isotope ratio measurements. Instrumental mass discrimination factor has been previously determined measuring a natural tin standard solution. Spike solution has been prepared from 112Sn-enriched metal and quantified by reverse isotope dilution analysis. Two sample aliquots were spiked and tin was extracted with 4.5 M HCl during 25 min ultrasound exposure time. Due to the complex matrix of this fly ash material, a two-step purification stage using ion-exchange chromatography was required prior TIMS analysis. Obtained results for the two sample-spike blends (10.11 ± 0.55 and 10.50 ± 0.64 μmol g−1) are comparable, both value and uncertainty. Also a good reproducibility is observed between measurements. The proposed ID-TIMS procedure, as a primary method and due to the lack of fly ash reference materials certified for tin content, can be used to validate more routine methodologies applied to tin determination in this kind of samples.  相似文献

The construction of importance sampled diffusion Monte Carlo (DMC) schemes accurate to second order in the time step is discussed. A central aspect in obtaining efficient second order schemes is the numerical solution of the stochastic differential equation (SDE) associated with the Fokker-Plank equation responsible for the importance sampling procedure. In this work, stochastic predictor-corrector schemes solving the SDE and consistent with It? calculus are used in DMC simulations of helium clusters. These schemes are numerically compared with alternative algorithms obtained by splitting the Fokker-Plank operator, an approach that we analyze using the analytical tools provided by Ito; calculus. The numerical results show that predictor-corrector methods are indeed accurate to second order in the time step and that they present a smaller time step bias and a better efficiency than second order split-operator derived schemes when computing ensemble averages for bosonic systems. The possible extension of the predictor-corrector methods to higher orders is also discussed.  相似文献

The vacuum-UV- (VUV-) photolysis of water is one of the advanced oxidation processes (AOP) based on the production of hydroxyl radicals (HO) that can be applied to the degradation of organic pollutants in aqueous systems. The kinetics of the VUV-photolyses of aqueous solutions of citric acid (1) or gallic acid (2) were investigated in the presence or absence of dissolved molecular oxygen (O2) and under different pH conditions. In the case of 1, the rate of consumption of the substrate was faster at pH 3.4 than in alkaline solution (pH 11), whereas, in the case of 2, the variation of pH (2.5–7.5) did not affect the course of the reaction. Unexpectedly, the rates of depletion of both 1 and 2 decreased in the absence of O2, this effect being much more pronounced in the case of 2. In order to explain these results, possible reaction pathways for the degradation of 1 and 2 are proposed, and the roles of the oxidizing (HO) and reducing (H and eaq) species produced by the VUV-photolysis of water are discussed.  相似文献

The electrochemical behaviour of the LiF-La2O3 and LiF-CaF2-La2O3 systems was investigated by means of cyclic voltammetry. Several types of working electrodes (spectrographic pure graphite, W, Mo, Ni, Cu) were used. It was found that chemical reactions take place in the system during the dissolution of lanthanum oxide. The reduction of lithium cations occurred at the most positive potential from the species formed in the melt on ‘inert’ cathodes (W, Mo). The reactive cathodes (Cu, Ni) allowed the lanthanum deposition with depolarisation.  相似文献

In the present work, we describe the properties of a bifunctional redox-labeled bioconjugate at electrode surfaces mediating the electron transfer across the electrode-electrolyte interface. We show that the assembly of ferrocene-labeled streptavidin on biotinylated electrodes results in a reproducible unidirectional current flow in the presence of electron donors in solution. Such rectifying films were built up by spontaneous binding of tetrameric streptavidin molecules to biotin centers immobilized on the electrode surface. Due to the high affinity of biotin to streptavidin, such bifunctional films completely bind any biotinylated compounds. The charge transport between donors in solution and the Au electrode is mediated by the ferrocene moieties, allowing us to develop a molecular rectifier. Our experimental results suggest that such redox-labeled proteins with a high binding capacity constitute a promising alternative to organic compounds used in molecular electronics.  相似文献

Ethanol production in a bioreactor with integrated membrane distillation (MD) module has been investigated. A hydrophobic capillary polypropylene membrane (Accurel PP V8/2 HF), with an external/internal diameter ratio, d out/d in = 8.6 mm/5.5 mm and pore size 0.2 μm, was used in these studies. The products (mainly ethanol and acetic acid) formed during the fermentation of sugar with Saccharomyces cerevisiae inhibited the process. These products were selectively removed from the fermentation broth by the MD process, which increased the efficiency of the conversion of sugar to alcohol from 0.45 g to 0.5 g EtOH per g of fermented sucrose. The bioreactor efficiency also increased by almost 30 %. Separation of alcohol by the MD generates a higher yield of ethanol in the permeate than in the broth. The enrichment coefficient amounted to 4-8, and depended on the ethanol concentration in the broth. The separated solutions did not wet the membrane in use for 2500 h of the MD experiments and the retention of inorganic solutes was close to 100 %.  相似文献

The molecular organization of a mixed film, containing a water-soluble tetracationic porphyrin (TMPyP) and a p-tert-butyl calix[8]arene octacarboxylic acid derivative (C8A), at the air-water interface and on a solid support (LB film), has been investigated. Although the TMPyP aggregation was not detected at the air-water interface, TMPyP J-aggregates have been found in the LB films (Y-type). Unlike tetraanionic porphyrins, for example TSPP, the TMPyP J-aggregates are not induced by a zwitterion formation. The TMPyP J-aggregation is a result of a "double comb" configuration, where porphyrins from opposite layers are interwoven in a linear infinite J-aggregate. Our results confirm that TMPyP molecules tend to self-aggregate strongly, provided the electrostatic repulsions of their peripheral groups are cancelled by the anionic groups of the C8A matrix.  相似文献

The asymmetric addition of trimethylsilyl cyanide to aldehydes can be catalysed by Lewis acids and/or Lewis bases, which activate the aldehyde and trimethylsilyl cyanide, respectively. It is not always apparent from the structure of the catalyst whether Lewis acid or Lewis base catalysis predominates. To investigate this in the context of using salen complexes of titanium, vanadium and aluminium as catalysts, a Hammett analysis of asymmetric cyanohydrin synthesis was undertaken. When Lewis acid catalysis is dominant, a significantly positive reaction constant is observed, whereas reactions dominated by Lewis base catalysis give much smaller reaction constants. [{Ti(salen)O}2] was found to show the highest degree of Lewis acid catalysis, whereas two [VO(salen)X] (X=EtOSO3 or NCS) complexes both displayed lower degrees of Lewis acid catalysis. In the case of reactions catalysed by [{Al(salen)}2O] and triphenylphosphine oxide, a non‐linear Hammett plot was observed, which is indicative of a change in mechanism with increasing Lewis base catalysis as the carbonyl compound becomes more electron‐deficient. These results suggested that the aluminium complex/triphenylphosphine oxide catalyst system should also catalyse the asymmetric addition of trimethylsilyl cyanide to ketones and this was found to be the case.  相似文献

Photoreactive surfaces derived from a new photocleavable surface modification agent and with photosensitivity in the Vis and IR region are described. A ruthenium(II) caged aminosilane, [Ru(bpy)(2)(PMe(3))(APTS)](PF(6))(2), was synthesized and attached to silica surfaces. Light irradiation removed the cage and generated surface patterns with reactive amine groups. The photosensitivity of this compound under single (460 nm) and two-photon (900) excitation is demonstrated. Functional patterns with site-selective attachment of other molecular species are described.  相似文献
