The starting process of the flow in a wedge-like expansion nozzle of a shock tunnel is simulated by an unsplit 2-D GRP scheme
on an unstructured grid. The scheme is briefly outlined and results are presented and discussed in comparison to the experimental
(shadowgraph) findings obtained by Amann. The simulated pattern of reflected and transmitted shock waves in the nozzle inlet
region and inside the nozzle is found to agree well with the experimental data.

We demonstrate an ultralow sample volume optical carbon monoxide sensor with detection sensitivity of 180 parts in 10(9) (1σ at 1 Hz). The utilization of a 2.3 μm surface-emitting laser directly coupled to a 3 m hollow capillary fiber as the gas cell is proven to be a compact, sensitive, and cost-efficient gas sensing concept. By mechanical vibration of the fiber, an absorbance resolution of 10(-5) is achieved, which is comparable to single-reflective (double-pass) cells. An improvement of sensitivity over the conventional single-reflective cell is thus approximately linearly scaled with the enhancement of the optical path length, which is usually more than 1 order of magnitude. 相似文献

We report on the successful application of recently developed 2.3 microm InP-based vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers with a buried tunnel junction in a wavelength modulation spectroscopy measurement for carbon monoxide (CO) detection. There is increasing evidence that a large proportion of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) cases are mediated by autoimmune processes. Since DCM is a fatal disorder with rapid aggravation and is the leading cause of heart transplantation, further insights into disease pathogenesis are needed. Recent studies have separated the pathogenic capacity of autoantibodies and initial clinical trials removing such autoantibodies via immunoadsorption have been promising. In order to elucidate the full autoantibody repertoire involved in DCM, we applied an autoantibody screening test using ventricular and atrial proteomes as autoantigenic sources and subsequently tested the autoantibody-binding patterns of sera from dogs with spontaneous DCM. With this method, we detected five potentially DCM-related autoantigens which were identified by MS as being: myosin heavy chain cardiac muscle alpha isoform, alpha cardiac actin, mitochondrial aconitate hydratase, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), and brain glycogen phosphorylase (GPBB). The recovery of two known DCM autoantigens (myosin heavy chain and alpha cardiac actin) and the discovery of three novel autoantigens (mitochondrial aconitate hydratase, GADPH, and GPBB) underscore the efficacy of this experimental method and the significance of the spontaneous canine DCM model. 相似文献

A Riemannian manifold is called geometrically formal if the wedge product of harmonic forms is again harmonic, which implies in the compact case that the manifold is topologically formal in the sense of rational homotopy theory. A manifold admitting a Riemannian metric of positive sectional curvature is conjectured to be topologically formal. New Alkali Cyclosilicates: Cs5AgSi3O9 and Cs6Na6Si6O18 The new cyclosilicates were obtained from reactions of the binary oxides at 450–500 °C under inert gas atmosphere. Cs5AgSi3O9 crystallizes in the space group P21/m with the lattice constants a = 968,2(2) pm, b = 652,7(1) pm, c = 1162,6(3) pm, β = 93,84(2)° and Cs6Na6Si6O18 in R‐3m with a = 1208,0(1) pm, c = 1458,9(2) pm (IPDS data sets). The characteristic features are isolated rings, [Si3O9]6– and [Si6O18]12–, respectively. In Cs5AgSi3O9 these are connected via Ag+ to chains. Layers of [NaO4]‐tetrahedra separate the hexameric rings in Cs6Na6Si6O18. Coordination numbers of caesium are observed between C.N. 3 and C.N. 9 in these alkali rich cyclosilicates. MAPLE calculations of both cyclosilicates as well as the absorption and IR spectrum of Cs5AgSi3O9 are presented. Preparative and thermoanalytical techniques have been used to investigate the reactivity of Cs5AgSi3O9 in the presence of cobalt and nickel metal. 相似文献

Na9[FeO3][FeO4]a Mixed Valent Oxoferrat(II, III) with Isolated [FeO3]4— — and [FeO4]5— Anions Na9[FeO3][FeO4] has been formed and obtained from a redox reaction between CdO and iron metal (reaction container) and Na2O in the presence of NaOH at 450 °C as orange‐red transparent single crystals. Real networks often consist of local units, which interact with each other via asymmetric and heterogeneous connections. In this work, we explore the constructive role played by such a directed and weighted wiring for the synchronization of networks of coupled dynamical systems. The stability condition for the synchronous state is obtained from the spectrum of the respective coupling matrices. In particular, we consider a coupling scheme in which the relative importance of a link depends on the number of shortest paths through it. Over the last few years, breath analysis for the routine monitoring of metabolic disorders has attracted a considerable amount of scientific interest, especially since breath sampling is a non-invasive technique, totally painless and agreeable to patients. The investigation of human breath samples with various analytical methods has shown a correlation between the concentration patterns of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and the occurrence of certain diseases. It has been demonstrated that modern analytical instruments allow the determination of many compounds found in human breath both in normal and anomalous concentrations. The composition of exhaled breath in patients with, for example, lung cancer, inflammatory lung disease, hepatic or renal dysfunction and diabetes contains valuable information. Furthermore, the detection and quantification of oxidative stress, and its monitoring during surgery based on composition of exhaled breath, have made considerable progress. This paper gives an overview of the analytical techniques used for sample collection, preconcentration and analysis of human breath composition. The diagnostic potential of different disease-marking substances in human breath for a selection of diseases and the clinical applications of breath analysis are discussed. 相似文献
