The influence of SDS upon the molecular properties of proflavine (3,6-diaminoacridine), acridine yellow (2,7-dimethyl-3,6-diaminoacridine) and methylene blue (3,7-bis-dimethylamino-phenothiazine) was studied comparatively to their properties in that of aqueous media. The absorption and emission spectra of the three dyes in SDS aqueous solution (1-100 mmol/l) were recorded. The spectroscopic data also allowed the evaluation of the critical micellization concentration (CMC), acidity constants in fundamental (pk(a)) and excited (pK(*)(a)) states, and lifetimes of excited singlet states. 相似文献

Photoinduced charge separation and recombination in a carotenoid-porphyrin-fullerene triad C-P-C(60)(1) have been followed by multifrequency time-resolved electron paramagnetic resonance (TREPR) at intermediate magnetic field and microwave frequency (X-band) and high field and frequency (W-band). The electron-transfer process has been characterized in the different phases of two uniaxial liquid crystals (E-7 and ZLI-1167). The triad undergoes photoinduced electron transfer, with the generation of a long-lived charge-separated state, and charge recombination to the triplet state, localized in the carotene moiety, mimicking different aspects of the photosynthetic electron-transfer process. Both the photoinduced spin-correlated radical pair and the spin-polarized recombination triplet are observed starting from the crystalline up to the isotropic phase of the liquid crystals. The W-band TREPR radical pair spectrum has allowed unambiguous assignment of the spin-correlated radical pair spectrum to the charge-separated state C(.+)-P-C(60)(.-). The magnetic interaction parameters have been evaluated by simulation of the spin-polarized radical pair spectrum and the spin-selective recombination rates have been derived from the time dependence of the spectrum. The weak exchange interaction parameter (J = +0.5 +/- 0.2 G) provides a direct measure of the dominant electronic coupling matrix element V between the C(.+)-P-C(60)(.-) radical pair state and the recombination triplet state (3)C-P-C(60). The kinetic parameters have been analyzed in terms of the effect of the liquid crystal medium on the electron-transfer process. Effects of orientation of the molecular triad in the liquid crystal are evidenced by simulations of the carotenoid triplet state EPR spectra at different orientations of the external magnetic field with respect to the director of the mesophase. A new utility for multipurpose analysis, SOLVERSTAT, taking advantage of the versatility of spreadsheets is here described. By means of this tool advanced statistical tests have introduced in Microsoft Excel Solver thus allowing regression diagnostic and discrimination between different models. The utility is here applied to the determination, by UV-Vis spectroscopy, of the stability constant for the uptake of molecular dioxygen by the 1:2 complex of Co(II) with N,N′-dimethylethylenediamine (dmen) in the aprotic solvent dimethylsulfoxide (dmso) at 298 K and in a medium adjusted to 0.1 mol dm−3 with Et4NClO4. The reliability of the model and parameters obtained are discussed and the results compared with those obtained by Dynafit, a different software package, and by independent voltammetric measurements. The validity of SOLVERSTAT has been also examined applying it to the discrimination between different models already discussed in the literature. 相似文献

In the present work a sensitive and accurate method by ion chromatography and conductimetric detection has been developed for the determination of biogenic amines in food samples at microgram per kilogram levels. The optimized extraction procedure of trimethylamine, triethylamine, putrescine, cadaverine, histamine, agmatine, spermidine, and spermine from real samples, as well as the separation conditions based on a multilinear gradient elution with methanesulfonic acid and the use of a weak ionic exchange column, have provided excellent results in terms of resolution and separation efficiency. Extended calibration curves (up to 200 mg/kg, r?>?0.9995) were obtained for all the analyzed compounds. The method gave detection limits in the range 23–65 μg/kg and quantification limits in spiked blank real samples in the range 65–198 μg/kg. Recovery values ranged from 82 to 103 %, and for all amines, a good repeatability was obtained with precision levels in the range 0.03–0.32 % (n?=?4). The feasibility and potential of the method were tested by the analysis of real samples, such as tinned tuna fish, anchovies, cheese, wine, olives, and salami. Figure

The present work describes the development of a nanocomposite system and its application in construction of a new amperometric biosensor applied in the determination of total polyphenolic content from propolis extracts. The nanocomposite system was based on covalent immobilization of laccase on functionalized indium tin oxide nanoparticles and it was morphologically and structural characterized. The casting of the developed nanocomposite system on the surface of a screen-printed electrode was used for biosensor fabrication. The analytical performance characteristics of the settled biosensor were determined for rosmarinic acid, caffeic acid and catechol (as laccase specific substrate). The linearity was obtained in the range of 1.06×10?6 ? 1.50×10?5 mol L?1 for rosmarinic acid, 1.90×10?7 ? 2.80×10?6 mol L?1 for caffeic acid and 1.66×10?6 ? 7.00×10?6 mol L?1 for catechol. A good sensitivity of amperometric biosensor 141.15 nA µmol?1 L?1 and fair detection limit 7.08×10?8 mol L?1 were obtained for caffeic acid. Wine metabolomics constitutes a powerful discipline towards wine authenticity assessment through the simultaneous exploration of multiple classes of compounds in the wine matrix. Over the last decades, wines from autochthonous Greek grape varieties have become increasingly popular among wine connoisseurs, attracting great interest for their authentication and chemical characterization. In this work, 46 red wine samples from Agiorgitiko and Xinomavro grape varieties were collected from wineries in two important winemaking regions of Greece during two consecutive vintages and analyzed using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UHPLC-QToF-MS). A targeted metabolomics methodology was developed, including the determination and quantification of 28 phenolic compounds from different classes (hydroxycinnamic acids, hydroxybenzoic acids, stilbenes and flavonoids). Moreover, 86 compounds were detected and tentatively identified via a robust suspect screening workflow using an in-house database of 420 wine related compounds. A study was undertaken to develop a method for the chemical speciation of As in rice on the basis of current knowledge in this field for use in preparing a certified reference material (CRM). Samples of the Arborio rice variety were ground to a fine powder, which was extracted under sonication with a water-methanol mixture (1 + 1, v/v). The resulting solutions were injected into a high-performance liquid chromatograph combined on-line with a quadrupole inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer. This hyphenated system allowed for the quantification of As species in one analytical step. Four forms of As were detected: inorganic As (III), dimethylarsinic acid (DMA), monomethylarsonic acid (MMA), and inorganic As (V) at concentrations of 88.2 +/- 7.1, 50.8 +/- 5.0, 15.2 +/- 1.7, and 51.2 +/- 3.5 ng/g, respectively. The concentration of total As was 211 +/- 7 ng/g. The limits of detection (3sigma criterion) and the quantitation (10sigma criterion) were, respectively, as follows (in ng/g): As (III), 0.095 and 0.320; As (V), 0.082 and 0.273; MMA, 0.110 and 0.367; and DMA, 0.145 and 0.480. Ten hours were needed for the extraction procedure, 6 h for the evaporation, and 30 min for quantification of the analytes. Three new mesoionic oxazolo[3,2-b]pyridazin-2-one derivatives, in different solutions have been investigated by UV-Vis absorption, steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence methods. The effect of substituents on the extension of conjugation of the pi-electrons from mesoionic oxazolone has been evidenced by bathochromic shifts of the absorption and fluorescence maxima positions. The fluorescence decay data could be fitted to single-exponential or double-exponential function. The lifetime values are much higher in aprotic polar solvents and in the case of the derivatives that present an extension of the conjugation of pi-electrons. The properties of the compounds present a solvent dependence, being tested in micellar solutions as potential molecular probe "sensitive" to the environment polarity. 相似文献
