Acetals of lactams and acid amides

7-Dimethylamino-5-hydroxypyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine and pyrrolo-, pyrido, and azepino [2,3-b]pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives were synthesized by reaction of acetals of amides and lactams with 4-amino-5-carbethoxypyrimidine derivatives and subsequent intramolecular cyclization of the intermediate amidines. Nonstationary indentation of a blunt rigid body into an elastic layer: An axisymmetric problem

The nonstationary indentation of a blunt rigid body into an elastic layer is studied. The general formulation of the problem includes different boundary conditions in the contact area and on the free surface of the layer. The simplified nonmixed problem that arises at the early stage of interaction and allows obtaining approximate results for later times is solved exactly. Properties of ZnSe films pulse electrodeposited in the presence of phosphotungstic acid

ZnSe films were pulse-electrodeposited on conducting glass substrates with and without the addition of phosphotungstic acid. X-ray diffraction studies indicated the formation of single phase cubic ZnSe. Addition of phosphotungstic acid resulted in films with nanocrystallites. The band gap of the films was found to increase due to addition of phosphotungstic acid. The films had a crystallite size of the order of 15nm and a surface roughness of 1.8nm. Laser Raman studies exhibited the LO phonon peaks of ZnSe. The films were found to possess a slight excess of Se as evident from the energy dispersive X-ray analysis measurements.     

Termochemistry of Glycerol Trinitrate and Diethyleneglycol Dinitrate in Solutions

Dissolution enthalpy of liquid glycerol trinitrate, diethyleneglycol dinitrate for comparison inseveral organic solvents, enthalpies of their interaction with arsenicum trichloride and titanium tetrachloridein dichloroethane, calculated interaction enthalpies of glycerol trinitrate with cellulose dinitrate in a wide concentration range at 298 K. Excess enthalpy value for glass-like state of cellulose nitrate relatively to those for high-elastic state and interaction enthalpy of interaction of glycerol trinitrate with high-elastic cellulose are estimated.     

Chlorination of N-acyl Derivatives of p-Aminophenols (Naphthols) and p-Phenylenediamines

The chlorination of N-acyl derivatives of p-aminophenols can provide either N-acyl-2,3,6-trichloro-4-aminophenols or N-acyl-2,3,5,6-tetrachloro-1,4-benzoquinone imines depending on solvent nature, process temperature, and molar ratio initial compound-chlorine. The chlorination of N-acyl-4-amino-1-naphthols affords only N-acyl-2,3-dichloro-1,4-naphthoquinone imines. N,N'-Diacyl-1,4-phenylenediamines give rise on chlorination to a mixture of 2,5-dichloro-, 2,6-dichloro-, and 2,3-dichloro-N,N'-diacyl-1,4-phenylenediamines.     

Test determination of reducing agents using noncovalently immobilized quinonimine indicators

The noncovalent immobilization of indophenols (2,6-dichloroindophenol and 2,6-dibromoin-doguaiacol) and indamines (Variamine Blue and Bindshendler’s Green) on reversed-phase silica gels and ion exchangers was studied. It was shown that the properties of indicator powders can be improved by the double modification of reversed-phase silica gels with cetyltrimethylammonium chloride and 2,6-dichloroindophenol or with dodecyl sodium sulfate and Bindshlender’s Green. Ionization constants and formal redox potentials of the noncovalently immobilized quinonimine compounds were determined by solid-phase spectrophotometry. Indicator tubes and indicator powders were proposed for the test determination of 0.3–1000 mg/L ascorbic acid and 0.02–3.0 mg/L iron(II)     

Nonstationary indentation of a rigid blunt indenter into an elastic layer: A plane problem

The nonstationary indentation of a rigid blunt indenter into an elastic layer is studied. An approach to solving a mixed initial-boundary-value problem with an unknown moving boundary is developed. The problem is reduced to an infinite system of integral equations and the equation of motion of the indenter. The system is solved numerically.
