The electrode potentials of some quinone derivatives in aqueous solution have been calculated. The calculations are carried out at the Hartree–Fock and B3LYP levels with the inclusion of entropic and thermochemical corrections to yield free energies of redox reactions. The Polarisable Continuum Model (PCM) is used to describe the solvent. The average error of calculation of electrode potentials is less than 0.03 V and is decreased compared to the average error of methods presented previously. The role of relaxation energies and frequency calculations in improving the results has been investigated. 相似文献

Energy transport in silicon–aluminum composite thin films due to short-pulse laser irradiation is examined. Frequency dependent phonon transport in the silicon film is considered to formulate equivalent equilibrium temperature while modified two-equation model is used in the aluminum film to obtain electron and phonon temperatures. Thermal boundary resistance across the films is incorporated in the analysis. Transmittance, reflectance, and absorption of the incident laser beam are determined using the transfer matrix method. Equivalent equilibrium temperatures resulted from frequency dependent and frequency independent solutions are compared. It is found that phonon temperature increase at the aluminum interface is suppressed by phonon transport to the silicon film, which is more pronounced at low laser pulse intensities. The influence of the ballistic phonons on equivalent equilibrium temperature in the silicon film is found to be significant. 相似文献

Liquid scintillation counting (LSC) method has been used for the measurement of 222Rn in mineral water samples under a pilot project for the first surveillance in Iran. Low level background LSC counter Quantulus and pulse-shape analysis method have been employed. The concentration of 222Rn found in mineral waters of the studied areas ranges from about 1 to 75 Bq/l. The best lower limit of detection obtained with the applied technique was 0.069 Bq/l for a counting time in the range of 236–296 minutes. 相似文献

ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: Polymers have been considered as important materials in fabrication of microstructures for various medical purposes including drug delivery. This study evaluates polyurethane as material for hollow microstructures preparation. RESULTS: Polyurethane microstructures were obtained by interfacial polyaddition combined with spontaneous emulsification and present slightly acid pH values. Scanning electron microscopy revealed the existence of irregular shapes and agglomerated microstructures. The material is heat resistant up to 280 [DEGREE SIGN]C. Good results were recorded on murine skin tests in case of polyurethane microstructures based on isophorone diisocyanate. Mesenchymal stem cells viability presents good results for the same sample after 48 hours based on the Alamar Blue test. CONCLUSIONS: The research revealed the reduced noxiousness of this type of microstructures and consequently the possibility of their use for therapeutic purposes. 相似文献
