The strength distributions of the giant monopole resonance (GMR) have been measured in the even-A Sn isotopes (A=112-124) with inelastic scattering of 400-MeV alpha particles in the angular range 0 degrees -8.5 degrees . We find that the experimentally observed GMR energies of the Sn isotopes are lower than the values predicted by theoretical calculations that reproduce the GMR energies in 208Pb and 90Zr very well. From the GMR data, a value of Ktau = -550 +/- 100 MeV is obtained for the asymmetry term in the nuclear incompressibility.  相似文献

We have studied the role of defects on the magnetic properties of carbon materials using first-principles density functional methods. We show that, while the total magnetization decreases both for diamond and graphite with increase in vacancy density, the magnetization decreases more rapidly for graphitic structures. The presence of nitrogen nearby a vacancy is shown to produce larger macroscopic magnetic signals as compared to a standalone carbon vacancy. The results indicate the possibility of tuning magnetization in carbon by controlled defect generation and doping.  相似文献

We study the stability of topological order against local perturbations by considering the effect of a magnetic field on a spin model--the toric code--which is in a topological phase. The model can be mapped onto a quantum loop gas where the perturbation introduces a bare loop tension. When the loop tension is small, the topological order survives. When it is large, it drives a continuous quantum phase transition into a magnetic state. The transition can be understood as the condensation of "magnetic" vortices, leading to confinement of the elementary "charge" excitations. We also show how the topological order breaks down when the system is coupled to an Ohmic heat bath and relate our results to error rates for topological quantum computations.  相似文献

2-amino-5-(3-fluoro-4-methoxyphenyl)thiophene-3-carbonitrile derivatives have been synthesized from 1-(3-fluoro-4-methoxyphenyl)ethanone, malononitrile, mild base, and sulfur powder using the Gewald method through a multistep reaction sequence. The structures of newly synthesized compounds were established on the basis of their elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and mass spectral data, and then synthesized compounds were screened for their in vitro antimicrobial activity. Among them, derivatives 3b (thiphene), 3f (pyrazole), and 3d (halogen) showed good activity and remaining derivatives exhibited moderate activity.  相似文献

This work scrutinizes the utilization of ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber matrix (EPDM) with an embodiment of aramid fiber for the heat shielding applications in solid rocket motor (SRM). Aramid fibers are aromatic poly‐paraphenylene terephthalamide, here deployed are Kevlar fibers (KF). However, the literature that encompasses the thermal and mechanical behavior with the fiber loading is reported nowhere else. The effect of fiber addition on the surface morphology and density was thoroughly studied, and it revealed that the EHSMs were of lower density to act as an efficient payload for the SRM. In this regard, the thermal conductivity, heat capacity, thermal diffusivity, fire behavior, and mechanical properties of the EPDM/KF‐based EHSMs were explored. The results revealed that the EHSMs are thermally insulating and thermally stable material with balanced mechanical properties that can engender the thermal and mechanical strains of the rocket motor. Furthermore, other analytical techniques such as scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy have been exploited to monitor the performance of the char residues of the EHSM to delineate its performance in the fire atmosphere.  相似文献

Aqueous organic redox flow batteries (AORFBs) have received considerable attention for large‐scale energy storage. Quinone derivatives, such as 9,10‐anthraquinone‐2,7‐disulphonic acid (2,7‐AQDS), have been explored intensively owing to potentially low cost and swift reaction kinetics. However, the low solubility in pH‐neutral electrolytes restricts their application to corrosive acidic or caustic systems. Herein, the single molecule redox‐targeting reactions of 2,7‐AQDS anolyte are presented to circumvent its solubility limit in pH‐neutral electrolytes. Polyimide was employed as a low‐cost high‐capacity solid material to boost the capacity of 2,7‐AQDS electrolyte to 97 Ah L?1. Through in situ FTIR spectroscopy, a hydrogen‐bonding mediated reaction mechanism was disclosed. In conjunction with NaI as catholyte and nickel hexacyanoferrate as the catholyte capacity booster, a single‐molecule redox‐targeting reaction‐based full cell with energy density up to 39 Wh L?1 was demonstrated.  相似文献

Factorization theorem plays the central role at high energy colliders to study standard model and beyond standard model physics. The proof of factorization theorem is given by Collins, Soper and Sterman to all orders in perturbation theory by using diagrammatic approach. One might wonder if one can obtain the proof of factorization theorem through symmetry considerations at the lagrangian level. In this paper we provide such a proof.  相似文献
