The effects of absorption of 7.9 and 5.0 eV photons by the polymer poly(methyl methacrylate) are studied using molecular dynamics simulations. By rapidly depositing a critical amount of thermal energy in the surface region (greater than 0.03 eV Å−3), a pressure wave is formed which causes spallation of the substrate. If there is only one photon absorbed per monomer unit of the polymer, the 7.9 eV photons can supply sufficient energy density to initiate ejection.  相似文献

The optical output power of a laser diode can be enhanced by anti-reflection (AR) and high-reflection (HR) facet coatings, respectively, at the front and back facet. AR and HR coatings also serve the purpose of protection and passivation of laser diode facets. In this work, we have designed and optimized a single layer λ/4 thick Al2O3 film for the AR coating and a stack of λ/4 thick Al2O3/λ/4 thick Si bi-layers for the HR coating for highly strained InGaAs quantum-well edge emitting broad area (BA) laser diodes. Effect of the front and back facet reflectivities on output power of the laser diodes has been studied. The light output versus injected current (L–I characteristics) measurements were carried out on selected devices before and after the facet coatings. We have also carried out the numerical simulation and analysis of L–I characteristics for this particular diode structure. The experimental results have been compared and verified with the numerical simulation.  相似文献

An early transition metal metallocene compound, Cp2ZrCl2, with an anionic surfactant, sodium n‐dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as emulsifier and NaBPh4 as cocatalyst has been found to be an effective catalytic system for polymerization and copolymerization of monomers like styrene and methyl methacrylate in aqueous medium. A comparative study of thermoresponsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAAm)-chitosan (CS)-based magnetic nanohydrogels (MNHGs) encapsulating functionalized Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) in terms of the parameters governing their suitability for real hyperthermia is reported. Iron oxide NPs functionalized with (a) citric acid (CA-Fe3O4), (b) ethylenediamine (Amine-Fe3O4) and (c) dimercaptosuccininc (DMSA-Fe3O4) have been synthesized and their encapsulation into MNHGs was obtained through physical encapsulation method. The structural characterizations of synthesized materials include X-ray diffraction, FT-IR, TGA, ICP-AES and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Encapsulation of the functionalized NPs into MNHGs were observed in TEM micrographs, while SEM and AFM micrographs confirmed their spherical morphology (~250–300 nm). Lower critical solution temperature (LCST) variation was measured by UV–visible spectrophotometer and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). MNHGs exhibited sufficient magnetization and heating ability for hyperthermia. Typically, hydrogels containing CA-Fe3O4 (50 mg/ml) raised the temperature of the medium to 43 °C, a suitable dose for in vivo application in tumor-bearing mice.  相似文献

The rate constants of O2(1Δg) with aliphatic alcohols, terpenes, unsaturated hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, oxygen, and diamines have been studied in thepresence of NO2. The rate constants for oxygen, 1,2-ethane diamine, and 1,2-propane diamine are (9.9 ± 0.4) × 102, (8.7 ± 0.7) × 104, and (1.4 ± 0.3) × 104 1/mol/s, respectively. A fast and simple method for simultaneous detection and quantification of the medicinally important E- and Z-guggulsterone from raw oleogum-resin of Commiphora wightii by UPLC was developed. Both E- and Z-guggulsterone were extracted from naturally occurring resin samples using ethyl acetate and methanol. Chromatographic separation of the analytes and their respective standards were performed on an Acquity UPLC BEH C18 column followed by UV as well as a triple quadrupole detector in positive ionization mode. A linear gradient elution profile followed; mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile and 2 mM ammonium acetate in water. The method was validated over a range of 6.25 to 100 ng mL−1 for both the guggulsterones. The calibration curves were linear with correlation coefficients of 0.9998 for E-guggulsterone and 0.9999 for Z-guggulsterone. The LOD and LOQ were 1.65 and 5.02 ng mL−1 for E-guggulsterone and 2.57 and 7.79 ng mL−1 for Z-guggulsterone respectively. The average recovery of E-guggulsterone (104.63%) and Z-guggulsterone (104.33%) achieved from spiked samples were consistent and reproducible. The intra- and inter-day assay precision of the analytes over the entire concentration range was less than 2%. The developed method required only 6 min to complete a run including 1 min to equilibrate the system and hence suitable for high throughput applications. Efficiency, reliability and accuracy of the developed method were evaluated by analyzing resin sample from different C. wightii populations. The result of this study offers improvement in terms of speed and sensitivity as compared to previously reported methods.
