Recently, clinicians have observed an increase in the incidence of laryngeal papilloma coincident with the rising incidence of venereal warts. The lesions occur in young adults of professional singing age. Different types of human papillomavirus (HPV) are presented. Gynecologic exam revealed cervical tumors, involving 18 HPV in benign and malignant lesions. Thirty patients with the following pathologic conditions were studied: 10 papillomas, 10 severe dysplasias, and 10 invasive cancers. All the lesions were located on the free edge of the vocal folds or the anterior commissure involving the epithelium. The results are as follows: 11 patients (33%) had virus infection, of which four had HPV 6 or HPV 11 on laryngeal papilloma, three had HPV 16 or HPV 18 on severe dysplasia, four had HPV 16 or HPV 18 on carcinoma; and 19 (66%) had no virus infection. Gynecologic research in this field is more advanced. However, this preliminary report raises interesting research questions in laryngology. 相似文献

The electrical resistance changes of thin gold film electrodes of preferential orientation [111] with film thickness and potential have been studied. The applicability of the Fuchs-Sondheimer (FS) relation to the decrease of resistance observed at the first negative polarization and the first few potential sweeps for different thicknesses have shown that this phenomenon is due to a surface process, interpreted as a cleaning of the electrodes. The resistance changes observed during the electrochemical adsorption and desorption of oxygen also obey the FS relation. The analysis of the resistance variation with the charge exchanged during these reactions has allowed us to show that the electrochemical adsorption of oxygen, on these gold films occurs by a two-dimensional island mechanism with formation of different structures of the surface layer. The values of the resistivity change caused by the adsorption of 1% oxygen atoms (with respect to the total number of metal atoms in the films) at low coverage have been compared with those observed in other systems (metal-gas, metal-metal). 相似文献

Crystalline LiFePO4 has been synthesized using solid-state, spray pyrolysis, and wet chemical methods. The crystal parameters were obtained from Rietveld’s refinement methods of the X-ray diffraction patterns. The SOLEIL synchrotron radiation source is regularly operated in special filling modes dedicated to pump–probe experiments. Among others, the low‐α mode operation is characterized by shorter pulse duration and represents the natural bridge between 50 ps synchrotron pulses and femtosecond experiments. Here, the capabilities in low‐α mode of the experimental set‐ups developed at the TEMPO beamline to perform pump–probe experiments with soft X‐rays based on photoelectron or photon detection are presented. A 282 kHz repetition‐rate femtosecond laser is synchronized with the synchrotron radiation time structure to induce fast electronic and/or magnetic excitations. Detection is performed using a two‐dimensional space resolution plus time resolution detector based on microchannel plates equipped with a delay line. Results of time‐resolved photoelectron spectroscopy, circular dichroism and magnetic scattering experiments are reported, and their respective advantages and limitations in the framework of high‐time‐resolution pump–probe experiments compared and discussed. 相似文献

Two-photon absorption excited intramolecular energy transfer and light-harvesting effects are demonstrated in three novel dendritic systems. These systems contain both an antenna structure that can effectively absorb two-photon energy at approximately 800 nm and emit fluorescence at approximately 515 nm and a core moiety that can absorb one-photon energy at approximately 520 nm and emit at approximately 590 nm. Covalently combining the core and antenna functionalities intrinsically changes the optical behavior of the component pieces. The two-photon energy absorbed by the antenna structure is resonantly transferred to the core, where the core's emission intensity is enhanced by 8, 20, and 34 times for the three dendritic systems. 相似文献

Morphological and chemical properties of both the surface and interface of poly(vinylidene fluoride)/poly(methyl methacrylate)-co-poly(ethyl acrylate) (PVDF/PMMA-co-PEA) blend films have been investigated before and after the samples were exposed to ultraviolet (UV) irradiation using a xenon arc lamp at 50 °C and 9% relative humidity (RH) for 7 months. Surface and interfacial morphologies were studied by atomic force microscopy (AFM). Chemical composition information was obtained by confocal Raman microscopy, attenuated total reflection-FTIR spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and contact angle measurements. Results show an enrichment of the PVDF material at the air surface, while the acrylic copolymer enriches the interface. Blends having greater than 50% mass fraction of PVDF show little change in the surface morphology after UV exposure for 7 months. However, for a lower PVDF content, blends exhibit significant degradation of PMMA-co-PEA copolymer and a much rougher surface after UV exposure. Microstructural changes in the PVDF spherulites are also observed after UV degradation. It is found that the surface and interfacial morphologies are correlated with the chemical properties. 相似文献

Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) of a cw-pump in a long optical fiber ring cavity generates for a given gain G, below a critical feedback Rcrit, a backward soliton Stokes pulse at the roundtrip repetition rate, through resonant three-wave interaction between the optical pump wave and backward Stokes wave, and a high frequency (GHz) axial acoustic wave. In Part I, we perform a systematic experimental and numerical exploration of the whole soliton localisation domain for a large set of (G, R) parameters, in a polarization-maintaining Brillouin fiber ring laser in the best conditions of stability and coherence, and we confirm the excellent quantitative agreement of the coherent three-wave model and the experiments. 相似文献
