Ozone (O3) has been generated on Ni–Sb–SnO2/Ti electrode as anode immersed in acidic media at 25 °C by electrochemical process. The anode was electrochemically characterized by cyclic voltammetry and morphologically characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction. The concentration of dissolved ozone was determined by a UV/Vis spectrophotometer. The type of electrode with different times coating on the titanium mesh and different acid type and various concentrations (C acid) were used, and the stability of the electrode was investigated under the experimental conditions by SEM images. Results shows that higher efficiency (53.7%) for O3 generation by electrochemical oxidation of water were obtained in HClO4 (1 M) and an applied potential of 2.4 V vs. Ag/AgCl in 150 ml volume undivided electrochemical cell.  相似文献

One inescapable feature of life on the earth is exposure to ionizing radiation. The thyroid gland is one of the most sensitive organs to gamma‐radiation and endocrine disrupters. Low‐level laser therapy (LLLT) has been used to stimulate tissue repair, and reduce inflammation. The aim of this study was to gauge the value of using Helium–Neon laser to repair the damaged tissues of thyroid gland after gamma‐irradiation. Albino rats were used in this study (144 rats), divided into control, gamma, laser, and gamma plus laser‐irradiated groups, each group was divided into six subgroups according to time of treatment (total six sessions). Rats were irradiated once with gamma radiation (6 Gy), and an external dose of laser (Wavelength 632.8 nm, 12 mW, CW, Illuminated area 5.73 cm2, 2.1 mW cm?2, 120 s, 1.4 J, 0.252 J cm?2) twice weekly localized on thyroid region of the neck, for a total of six sessions. Animals were sacrificed after each session. Analysis included thyroid function, oxidative stress markers, liver function and blood picture. Results revealed improvement in thyroid function, liver function and antioxidant levels, and the blood cells count after LLLT.  相似文献

A new PVC membrane electrode for the determination of phenylephrine hydrochloride based on the formation of an ionassociation complex of phenylephrine hydrochloride with the phosphotungstate counter anion as an electroactive material dispersed in a PVC matrix is described. The sensor shows a fast, stable, near-Nernstian response for 1.0 × 10?5 to 1.0 × 10?1 M phenylephrine hydrochloride at 25 °C over the pH range of 3.5–8.0 with a cationic slope of 58.1 ± 0.6 mV decade?1. The electrode was successfully used for potentiometric determination of phenylephrine hydrochloride in some pharmaceutical drugs.  相似文献

Guest–host interaction of prednisone (PN) with cyclodextrins (CDs) have been investigated using phase solubility diagrams (PSD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray powder diffractometry (XRPD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and molecular mechanical modeling (MM). Estimates of the complex formation constant (K 11) show that the tendency of PN to complex with CDs follows the order: β-CD>γ-CD>HP-β-CD>α-CD. At the same pH of 7.0, β-CD forms soluble 1:1 and insoluble 1:2 PN/CD complexes (BS-type PSDs). The thermodynamic functions for 1:1 PN/β-CD estimated at pH = 7.0 (ΔG 11o=−20.8 kJ⋅mol−1) show that complexation is driven by enthalpy (−30.7 kJ⋅mol−1) but retarded by entropy (ΔS 11o=−33.1 J⋅mol−1⋅K−1) changes. The MM modeling study indicates the formation of different isomeric 1:1 complexes with CDs. PSD, DSC, XRPD, SEM and MM studies established the formation of inclusion complexes in solution and the solid state.  相似文献

Contamination of food with biological toxins as well as their potential use as weapons of mass destruction has created an urge for rapid and cost effective analytical techniques capable of detecting trace amounts of these toxins. This paper describes the development of a sensitive method for detection of cholera toxin (CT) using a flow-injection capacitive immunosensor based on self-assembled monolayers. The sensing surface consists of monoclonal antibodies against the B subunit of CT (anti-CT), immobilized on a gold transducer. Experimental results show that the immunosensor responded linearly to CT concentrations in the range from 1.0 × 10−13 to 1.0 × 10−10 M under optimized conditions. The limit of detection (LOD) was 1.0 × 10−14 M. Two more analytical methods were employed for detection of CT using the same antibody namely, sandwich ELISA and surface plasmon resonance (SPR)-based immunosensor. The former had an LOD of 1.2 × 10−12 M and a working range from 3.7 × 10−11 to 2.9 × 10−10 M whereas, the later had an LOD of 1.0 × 10−11 M and a linearity ranging from 1.0 × 10−9 to 1.0 × 10−6 M. These results demonstrate that the developed capacitive immunosensor system has a higher sensitivity than the other two techniques. The binding affinity of CT to the immobilized anti-CT was determined using the SPR-based immunosensor and an association constant (KA) of 1.4 × 109 M−1 was estimated.  相似文献

Controlled adsorptive accumulation of testosterone, methyltestosterone and progesterone on the static mercury drop electrode provides the basis for direct stripping measurement of these compounds ar nanomolar concentrations. The adsorptive stripping behavior is evaluated with respect to preconcentration time and potential, stripping mode, concentration dependence, drop size and other variables. With 5-min accumulation, peak current enhancements of 45, 18 anal 12 are observed for 5 × 10?8 M testosterone, progesterone and methyltestosterone, respectively, relative to direct pulse voltammetry. Detection limits are 1.6 × 10?10 M for testosterone, 2 × 10?10 M for progesterone and 3.3 × 10?10 M for methyltestosterone with 15-min preconcentration. The relative standard deviation for 8 × 10?8 M progesterone is 3.4% (n=8). Applicability to direct measurements of methyltestosterone in pharmaceutical formulations is assessed.  相似文献

Ethanolic and aqueous extracts of the leaves and flowers of Alstonia scholaris were evaluated for their antioxidant activity by investigating their effect on blood glutathione levels in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. The ethanolic extract of the leaves was the most active; therefore, its cytotoxicity against HepG2 cells was also tested. Promising GI?? values of 1.96, 4.34 and 4.65?μg?mL?1 were observed for the extract, its chloroform and ethyl acetate fractions, respectively. The chloroform active subfraction I (GI???=?2.97?μg?mL?1) yielded betulin (1), betulinic acid (2) and ursolic acid (3) upon purification. Compounds 1-3 were identified using spectroscopic techniques and by comparison with reported data. GLC of unsaponifiable and saponifiable fractions of the hexane extract revealed β-sitosterol (7.37%) and n-tetracosane (54.4%) to be the major sterol and hydrocarbon components, respectively. Linoleic acid (48.89%) was the predominant fatty acid.  相似文献

Interactions of anionic dye Eriochrome Blue Black R (EBBR) with various cationic micelles of surfactants n-alkyltrimethylammonium CnTAB (n=12; 14; 16 and 18) have been investigated spectrophotometrically at 25°C in premicellar and postmicellar region. The results have shown that with increasing the alkyl chain length of surfactants, the maximum absorbance of EBBR shifted to a higher wavelength and the binding constants of EBBR to cationic micelles (Kb) increases. This confirms that the surfactant micelle, which has a longer alkyl hydrocarbon chain, enables greater solubilization of dye. A novel type of porous metal-organic framework (MOF) was obtained from thiol-modified silica nanoparticles and the copper(II) complex of trimesic acid. It is shown that this nanocomposite is well suitable for the preconcentration of Hg(II) ions. The nanocomposite was characterized by Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The effects of pH value, sorption time, elution time, the volume and concentration of eluent were investigated. Equilibrium isotherms were studied, and four models were applied to analyze the equilibrium adsorption data. The results revealed that the adsorption process obeyed the Langmuir model. The maximum monolayer capacity and the Langmuir constant are 210 mg g?1 and 0.273 L mg?1, respectively. The new MOF-based nanocomposite is shown to be an efficient and selective sorbent for Hg(II). Under the optimal conditions, the limit of detection is 20 pg mL?1 of Hg(II), and the relative standard deviation is <7.2 % (for n?=?3). The sorbent was successfully applied to the rapid extraction of Hg(II) ions from fish, sediment, and water samples.

The objective was to obtain new scaffold of compounds possessing anti-urease activity. For this new and simple method for the synthesis of β-aryl-β-mercapto ketone derivatives based on Michael addition of thiophenol to chalcones in an ionic liquid as a solvent was improved. The products were obtained in good to moderate yields with high purity and characterized by spectral and elemental analyses. The activities of synthesized compounds were investigated as new inhibitors of jack bean urease. Among 22 synthesized compounds, all of them have shown inhibitory effect in micromolar range, and the most potent one has IC50 = 6 μM compared to hydroxyurea IC50 = 100 μM as a reference inhibitor. A docking study was performed using Autodock 4.2 in parallel to in vitro experiments to illustrate the corresponded binding affinities as well as binding site, and involved residues in interaction. These computational results complimented the experimental inhibition activity and enabled us to report a potent urease inhibitors based on β-aryl-β-mercapto ketone scaffold.  相似文献
