This review draws together published information on the occurrence and biogeochemical cycling of selenium, arsenic and tin in the nearshore marine environment of Australia. The selenium content of marine organisms is well documented but little information is available on the selenium content of waters and sediments. The speciation of selenium in organisms, water and sediments is unknown although it appears that selenium is associated with proteins. The occurrence and speciation of arsenic in marine organisms has been extensively studied, with arsonobetaine being isolated as the probable end-product of arsenic metabolism in marine food chains. However, organisms can produce other organoarsenic compounds, e.g. trimethylarsine oxide, which may be metabolized to toxic end-products. Little is known about the occurrence and speciation of arsenic in waters and sediments. Arsenic(V) is dominant in oxygenated waters, with appreciable quantities of arsenic(III) in some deoxygenated waters. There are few data for tin in water, sediments or organisms and no data on naturally occurring tin species. Tributyltin has been measured in water, sediment and organisms from areas affected by boating activity. 相似文献

Motivated by applications in the modeling of deformations of the DNA double helix, we construct a continuum mechanics model of two elastically interacting elastic strands. The two strands are described in terms of averaged, or macroscopic, variables plus an additional small, internal or microscopic, perturbation. We call this composite structure a birod. The balance laws for the macroscopic configuration variables of the birod can be cast in the form of a classic Cosserat rod model with coupling to the internal balance laws through the constitutive relations. The internal balance laws for the microstructure variables also take a mathematical form analogous to that for a Cosserat rod, but with coupling to the macroscopic system through terms corresponding to distributed force and couple loads. 相似文献

The model studies were designed to obtain information concerning wind loads on a tall building by placing the model in a turbulent
shear flow simulating expected atmospheric boundary-layer winds. Since current design codes are inadequate for predicting
all possible motions of tall buildings, it is important that better knowledge of mean and fluctuating loadings and their distributions
becomes available.
Experiments were conducted to determine the mean and fluctuating forces and twisting moments at several levels over the surface
of a model. By determining the effects at several levels simultaneously, it was possible to correlate forces and moments at
five levels with one common level.
A single model was tested at varying orientations. Tests were also conducted with an identical model placed upstream so that
its wake influenced the flow around the instrumented model.
Results are presented in terms of distributions of force and moment coefficients and correlations at different levels. The
spectral character of the force and moment components is illustrated for one case.

Intramolecular base catalyzed C-C bond formation led to exclusive stereoselective syntheses of trans-6,7-dihydro-5H-[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazines, trans-7,8-dihydro-6H-[1,2,4]triazino[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazin-4-ones, and trans-3,4-dihydro-2H-[1,3,4]thiadiazino[2,3-b]quinazolin-10-one. trans-6,7-Dihydro-5H-[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazines isomerize slowly in CDCl3 and more rapidly in DMSO-d6 into the corresponding cis-stereoisomers. The other trans-6,7-dihydro-[1,3,4]thiadiazines isomerize also in DMSO-d6 into the corresponding cis-stereoisomers. A series of novel monoazo-disperse dyes containing pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine structures were synthesized starting with the coupling reaction between ethyl cyanoacetate and 4-hydroxybenzenediazonium chloride, followed by treatment of the resulting hydrazone product with hydrazine hydrate. The pyrazolohydrazone 6 is then treated with either 2,4-pentandione and enaminonitrile or aryl-substituted enaminoketones to give the target pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine dyes 7 and 15a-d. Structural assignments to the dyes were made using NMR spectroscopic methods. A new high temperature method, using microwave heating, was employed to apply these dyes to polyester fibers. Most of the dyed fabrics tested displayed moderate light fastness and excellent washing fastness properties. 相似文献

Binary mixtures formed from components of the five homologous series of the 4-(4-substituted phenylazo)phenyl-4-alkoxybenzoates Ia-e were prepared and their mesophase behaviour characterized. Transition temperatures of the mixtures prepared were measured by differential scanning calorimetry and identified by polarizing optical microscopy. Each binary combination was made from components bearing a terminal alkoxy group with the same number of carbon atoms (kept constant at n = 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 or 16), while the other substituent (X) was different—CH3O, CH3, Cl, NO2, or CN. Gas-phase pyrolysis (static and FVP) of 1-aroylbenzotriazoles gave the corresponding substituted benzoxazole, benzimidazole, benzamide, N-phenylbenzamide, phenanthridin-6(5H)-one derivatives and 1-cyanocyclopentadiene.
