In order to obtain a rapid method that can detect adulteration of butter fats with cheaper vegetable fats, the use of NIR spectroscopy and multivariate modelling was explored. For model building and validation, an extensive set of samples was collected, consisting of 152 butter samples, 42 oils and 200 blends thereof. Variations in butter fat composition are reflected in distinct NIR spectral regions. Principal components analysis and partial least square discriminant analysis was used to inspect the variation within the sample set. As reference values for training partial least squares models, butter fat levels as declared by suppliers were taken, as well as C4:0 fatty acid levels as measured directly by GC. All samples were used for training, except for 100 blends, which were used later for validation. Different pre-processing and PLS approaches were explored, resulting in models that had a RMSEPs for butter fat and C4:0 fatty acid level in the range of 4.3-8.2 and 0.33-0.38% (w/w), respectively. The performance of NIR in assessment of C4:0 fatty acid levels is lower as for GC, but this disadvantage is outweighed by shorter measurement times and the lower skill levels required. Furthermore NIR is able to assess overall levels of butter fat, in addition to the indirect indicator provided by the C4:0 fatty acid level.  相似文献

A series of donor-functionalized pyrylium salts have been prepared by classical condensation reactions which were further converted into the corresponding thienyl- and pyridyl-substituted polydentate lambda(3)-phosphinines by reaction with P(SiMe(3))(3). Further chemical modification of these phosphorus heterocycles with Hg(OAc)(2) in the presence of methanol resulted in the formation of lambda(5)-phosphinines. The photophysical properties of a selected series of thienyl- and pyridyl-functionalized pyrylium salts, lambda(3)- and lambda(5)-phosphinines, were investigated and the results compared and supported by theoretical calculations on the DFT level. Significant fluorescence was observed for the pyrylium salts and lambda(5)-phosphinines. In contrast, the heteroaromatic substituted lambda(3)-phosphinines show very little emission which is consistent with the low oscillator strength predicted by DFT calculations for this pi-->pi* transition. Furthermore, all three classes of compounds show readily observable phosphorescence in solution, which was determined by time-gated detection at low temperature.  相似文献

Current evidence suggests that neo formation of the anabolic steroid boldenone (androsta-1,4-diene-17-ol-3-one) occurs in calves' faecal material, making it difficult to distinguish between illegally administered boldenone and its potential endogenous presence. This strengthens the urgent need to elucidate the pathway leading to boldenone formation. In our laboratory, the invertebrate Neomysis integer (Crustacea, Mysidacea) was used since 2004 as an alternative model for the partial replacement of vertebrate animals in metabolisation studies with illegal growth promotors and veterinary drugs, e.g. boldenone. The present study evaluates the metabolic capacity of other invertebrates, the brine shrimp Artemia franciscana and maggots of the greenbottle fly Lucilia sericata. The first results indicate that maggots of L. sericata are able to convert phytosterols and -stanols, nowadays in substantial amounts added to animal feed, into androsta-1,4-diene-3,17-dione (ADD), the precursor of boldenone, at a yield of 0.10-0.14% (p<0.001, significance compared to endogenous excretion of maggots) but not to boldenone itself. Furthermore, beta-testosterone, an endogenous hormone, was transformed into androst-4-ene-3,17-dione (AED), ADD and beta-boldenone at a significant (p<0.001, significance compared to endogenous excretion of maggots) yield of circa 13%, 0.80% and 2.2%, respectively. In future studies these results are of value to further evaluate the use of maggots of L. sericata as an invertebrate model in metabolisation studies.  相似文献

Using hexapole quantum state-selection of OCS (v(2)=0,1,2/JlM) and high-resolution slice imaging of quantum state-selected CO(J), the state-to-state cross section OCS (v(2)=0,1,2/JlM)+hnu-->CO(J)+S((1)D(2)) was measured for bending states up to v(2)=2. The population density of the state-selected OCS (v(2)=0,1,2 /JlM) in the molecular beam was obtained by resonantly enhanced multiphoton ionization of OCS and comparison with room temperature bulk gas. A strong increase of the cross section with increasing bending state is observed for CO(J) in the high J region, J=60-67. Integrating over all J states the authors find sigma(v(2)=0):sigma(v(2)=1):sigma(v(2)=2)=1.0:7.0:15.0. A quantitative comparison is made with the dependence of the transition dipole moment function on the bending angle.  相似文献

We consider two stochastic processes, the Gribov process and the general epidemic process, that describe the spreading of an infectious disease. In contrast to the usually assumed case of short-range infections that lead, at the critical point, to directed and isotropic percolation respectively, we consider long-range infections with a probability distribution decaying in d dimensions with the distance as . By means of Wilson's momentum shell renormalization-group recursion relations, the critical exponents characterizing the growing fractal clusters are calculated to first order in an -expansion. It is shown that the long-range critical behavior changes continuously to its short-range counterpart for a decay exponent of the infection . The characteristics of polymer light emitting diodes (PLEDs) (ITO/PPV/Ca) depend strongly on the conditions during preparation and operation. We studied the effects of heat treatment (during and after preparation) of PLEDs with OC1C10-PPV as active layer. PLEDs showed a reduction of both the current and the light output to 40 % after annealing for only 30 min at 65 °C. Effects on I-V characteristics were studied by measuring single carrier devices (hole- and electron-dominated devices). The current reduction after heat treatment can be ascribed to degradation of the ITO/PPV and the Ca/PPV interfaces.  相似文献

Savings in analysis time in capillary GC have always been an important issue for chromatographers since the introduction of capillary columns by Golay in 1958. In laboratories where gas chromatographic techniques are routinely applied as an analytical technique, every reduction of analysis time, without significant loss of resolution, can be translated into a higher sample throughput and hence reduce the laboratory operating costs. In this contribution, three different approaches for obtaining fast GC separations are investigated. First, a narrow-bore column is used under conventional GC operating conditions. Secondly, the same narrow-bore column is used under typical fast GC conditions. Here, a high oven temperature programming rate is used. The third approach uses a recent new development in GC instrumentation: Flash-2D-GC. Here the column is placed inside a metal tube, which is resistively heated. With this system, a temperature programming rate of 100°/s is possible. The results obtained with each of these three approaches are compared with results obtained on a column with conventional dimensions. This comparison takes retention times as well as plate numbers and resolution into consideration.  相似文献

The use of hot splitless, cold splitless, and on-column injections for trace analysis in narrow-bore capillary GC is evaluated. Despite the low flow rates for the columns used, the required splitless times for splitless injections can be surprisingly short if liners with a small inside diameter are used. On-column injection can be applied by using an appropriate normal-bore precolumn coupled to the narrow-bore analytical column using a specially designed low dead volume column connector. The effects of the experimental conditions such as sample volume, injection temperature, and initial oven temperature on peak focusing and the discrimination and degradation behavior of the analytes are discussed. The possibilities to obtain sensitive and fast separations are illustrated by various applications.  相似文献
