The retarding-potential and LEED methods are used for obtaining information about the structure and uniformity of alkali (K and CS) and alkali-coadsorbate (CO and O) layers on Ru(0001) and Ru surfaces at 300 K. It was established that for alkali layers on the anisotropic Ru surface and for mixed coadsorbate layer the shape of the retarding potential curves, used for the work function measurements, becomes anomalous which indicates coexistence of patches of different work function on the surface. LEED data on these patchy surfaces showed the formation of a variety of ordered structures depending on the coadsorbate coverages. On the basis of the existing theory a simple mathematical simulation was performed in an attempt to interpret the observed changes in the retarding potential curves. The possible changes of this curves, induced by the formation of patches with varying contribution to the total retarding potential signal and the advantage of the retarding field method for determination the uniformity of surface overlayers are discussed.  相似文献

A new method for the synthesis of pseudo-cross-conjugated mesomeric betainic heterocyclic compounds with an angular nitrogen atom has been developed consisting in the reaction of 1,4-dielectrophile — -carbethoxy-2-(3-chloro)quinoxalylacetonitrile with azoles. Experimental regularities have been studied and a reaction mechanism has been proposed including the stage of formation of an ylide from a quaternary azolium salt. Egyptian Portland Cement in the form of one inch cube was hydrated at different times of hydration. Nine cubes of each period of hydration were heated for five minutes 200, 300, 400 up to 1000°C then were quenched in air. The compressive strength was measured for these samples and related to unheated ones. These cubes were ground and measured by Mössbauer spectrometry to correlate the effect of dehydration of cement pastes on the states of iron, with the decrease of compressive strength. It was observed that starting from 400°C the central doublet characteristic of the hydration process decreased as the dehydration temperature was increased. At 1000°C the dehydration process was complete, the central doublet disappeared and the compressive strength vanished. The hydration process was found to be reversible. The application of Mössbauer spectrometry to estimate the degree of fire in concrete building was demonstrated.  相似文献

A detailed statistical analysis of angular distribution of neutrino events observed in Kamiokande II and IMB detectors on UT 07∶35, 2/23'87 is carried out. Distribution functions of the mean scattering angles in the reactions \(\bar \upsilon _e p \to e^ + n\) andveve are constructed with account taken of the multiple Coulomb scattering and the experimental angular errors. The Smirnov and Wald-Wolfowitz run tests are used to test the hypothesis that the angular distributions of events from the two detectors agree with each other. We test with the use of the Kolmogorov and Mises statistical criterions the hypothesis that the recorded events all represent \(\bar \upsilon _e p \to e^ + n\) inelastic scatterings. Then the Neyman-Pearson test is applied to each event in testing the hypothesis \(\bar \upsilon _e p \to e^ + n\) against the alternativeveve. The hypotheses that the number of elastic events equalss=0, 1, 2, ... against the alternativess≠0, 1, 2, ... are tested on the basis of the generalized likelihood ratio criterion. The confidence intervals for the number of elastic events are also constructed. The current supernova models fail to give a satisfactory account of the angular distribution data.  相似文献

The relativistic correction to the triton binding energy approximated to the order (v/c)2 is calculated in the framework of relativistic Hamiltonian dynamics. We discuss the generator representation of the Poincaré group for three relativistic particles and its connection with the Feynman diagrams in the infinite-momentum frame (the light-front dynamics). The relativistic correction enhances the attraction in the three-nucleon system. The five-channel calculation with the Reid soft-core potential yeilds the result =–0.54 MeV, which is governed mainly by theD-wave contribution. TheS-wave contributions to are only –0.10 MeV.  相似文献

A differential manifold (d-manifold, for short) can be defined as a pair (M, C), where M is any set and C is a family of real functions on M which is (i) closed with respect to localization and (ii) closed with respect to superposition with smooth Euclidean functions; one also assumes that (iii) M is locally diffeomorphic to Rn. These axioms have a straightforward physical interpretation. Axioms (i) and (ii) formalize certain compatibility conditions which usually are supposed to be assumed tacitly by physicists. Axiom (iii) may be though of as a (nonmetric) version of Einstein's equivalence principle. By dropping axiom (iii), one obtains a more general structure called a differential space (d-space). Every subset of Rn turns out to be a d-space. Nevertheless it is mathematically a workable structure. It might be expected that somewhere in the neighborhood of the Big Bang there is a domain in which space-time is not a d-manifold but still continues to be a d-space. In such a domain we would have a physics without the (usual form of the) equivalence principle. Simple examples of d-spaces which are not d-manifolds elucidate the principal characteristics the resulting physics would manifest.on leave of absence from the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Department of Theoretical Physics, ul.
