A quantitatively main molecular form ofCratylia mollis lectin, isoform 1 (iso 1) was purified by affinity chromatography on Sephadex G-75, followed by ion exchange chromatography
on CM-cellulose. Another lectin form was identified in the latter step. Iso 1 is specific for glucose/mannose, with a main
subunit of 31 kDa mol wt; the native protein is basic (pI 8.5-8.6) and the constituent polypeptides had a pI range of 5.15–7.75.

A new and convenient method for the stereospecific synthesis of variously substituted 1,3-oxazolidin-2-ones from the easily available beta-hydroxyalkyl phenyl selenides is presented. After transformation into the N-tosyl or N-benzoyl carbamates, the selenides were oxidized to the corresponding selenones. The key step of the process is the ring-closure reaction, which occurs by stereospecific intramolecular nucleophilic substitution of the selenone group by the nitrogen atom of the carbamate. Enantiomerically pure 1,3-oxazolidin-2-one derivatives can be easily prepared by using enantiomerically pure beta-hydroxyalkyl phenyl selenides as starting materials. 相似文献

A simple substrate-controlled asymmetric synthesis of (R)-3-aminooctanoic acid (D-BAOA) is described. The present method involves the conversion of commercially available (S)-1-octyn-3-ol into the protected propargylic amine, with complete inversion of configuration, and the successive transformation of the (phenylseleno)acetylene intermediate into the Se-phenyl selenocarboxylate, which is then easily converted into the carboxylic group. We investigated the emission properties of a distributed-feedback resonator based on an organic semiconductor patterned by a novel printing technology. We observed the peak splitting of the photonic bandstructure of the periodic grating and extracted the effective refractive index of the outcoupled guided modes. The laser works at the second diffraction order, exhibiting narrow single-mode emission at 637 nm, with a threshold as low as 37 microJ/cm2. The results suggest that direct printing is a promising fabrication technique for optically confined integrated optoelectronics. 相似文献

We use optical and fluorescence microscopy, densitometry, cryo-transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM), spectroscopy, and synchrotron X-ray scattering to study the phase behavior of the reversible self-assembled chromonic aggregates of an anionic dye Sunset Yellow (SSY) in aqueous solutions crowded with an electrically neutral polymer polyethylene glycol (PEG) and doped with the salt NaCl. PEG causes the isotropic SSY solutions to condense into a liquid-crystalline region with a high concentration of SSY aggregates, coexisting with a PEG-rich isotropic (I) region. PEG added to the homogeneous nematic (N) phase causes separation into the coexisting N and I domains; the SSY concentration in the N domains is higher than the original concentration of PEG-free N phase. Finally, addition of PEG to the highly concentrated homogeneous N phase causes separation into the coexisting columnar hexagonal (C) phase and I phase. This behavior can be qualitatively explained by the depletion (excluded volume) effects that act at two different levels: at the level of aggregate assembly from monomers and short aggregates and at the level of interaggregate packing. We also show a strong effect of a monovalent salt NaCl on phase diagrams that is different for high and low concentrations of SSY. Upon the addition of salt, dilute I solutions of SSY show appearance of the condensed N domains, but the highly concentrated C phase transforms into a coexisting I and N domains. We suggest that the salt-induced screening of electric charges at the surface of chromonic aggregates leads to two different effects: (a) increase of the scission energy and the contour length of aggregates and (b) decrease of the persistence length of SSY aggregates. 相似文献

The aim of this work was the realization of new formulations for vaginal application to improve the pharmacological effect of benzydamine, displaying both anti-inflammatory and antiseptic activities. For this reasons, this drug was formulated in solid dispersions, by using the mucoadhesive polymers HPMC and/or Carbopol(?), then compressed. Tablets were characterized by studies of friability, hardness, hydration, DSC, mucoadhesion and in vitro release. Kinetics, responsible for drug delivery, was investigated as well. Tablets prepared by using only HPMC showed the best results in terms of swelling and mucoadhesion (time and force) together with prolonged and complete drug release, by diffusive mechanism, through gelled layer. Despite the good mucoadhesive properties, Carbopol(?) does not represent a good excipient because, after the contact with water, it generates a spongy gel layer, not homogeneous, stiff, brittle and with breaking tendency when highly swelled. This kind of gel does not guarantee a linear drug release and could provoke discomfort because of fragment release. HPMC mucoadhesive tablets could be a proper delivery system for benzydamine administration representing a good alternative to traditional dosage forms for vaginal topical therapy. 相似文献

The paper shows the variability of stable isotope ratios and mineral composition in tomato and derivatives along the production chain (juice, passata and paste) in order to evaluate the possibility of tracing their geographical origin. The ratios (13)C/(12)C, (15)N/(14)N, (18)O/(16)O, D/H, (34)S/(32)S and the content of Li, Be, B, Na, Mg, Al, P, K, Ca, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, Ge, As, Se, Rb, Sr, Y, Mo, Ag, Cd, Sn, Sb, Cs, Ba, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Tm, Yb, Ir, Tl, Pb, U and of nitrates, chlorides, sulphates and phosphates were measured by Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry, Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry and Ion Chromatography, respectively. The tomato products were from three Italian regions - Piedmont, Emilia Romagna, and Apulia. By applying linear discriminant analysis on 17 of these parameters (Gd, La, Tl, Eu, Cs, Ni, Cr, Co, δ(34)S, δ(15)N, Cd, K, Mg, δ(13)C, Mo, Rb and U) excellent discrimination among products from the three regions was achieved. Irrespective of the processing technology, over 95% of the samples were correctly reclassified in cross-validation into the production site. The use of these parameters will allow the development of analytical control procedures that can be used to check the geographical provenance of Italian tomatoes and products derived from them. 相似文献
