Some of the most active scientific research fronts of the past decade are centered on ionic liquids. These fluids present characteristic surface behavior and distinctive trends of their surface tension versus temperature. One way to explore and understand their unique nature is to study their surface properties. The use of microbial biomass in biosorption is already being studied as a potential alternative to (or combined with) conventional processes, where several algae and microorganisms have already shown promising ability to uptake metals. Cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) are widespread organisms, with specific properties, such as high nutrient removal capacity and tolerance to highly variable conditions which make them well-suited for wastewater and remediation purposes. The main aim of this work was to evaluate the use of a marine cyanobacterium LEANCYA 21 (Synechocystis sp.), collected from the Portuguese southern border, for the removal of selected trace metals when in natural seawater culture medium. It was observed, for the first time, that this particular strain is capable of uptaking Pb, Ni and Zn (at nM levels) from seawater solutions using small amounts of biomass. Uptake values for Pb were up to 90% (0.75 mg g?1 biomass) in 6 h. The specific biosorption curves of Ni and Zn showed that these metals follow a first order kinetics biosorption in batch conditions. Solutions containing multimetals have revealed that Ni uptake is affected by the presence of Pb and Zn. The calculated specific absorption values were high enough to predict a possible application in aquaculture where such low levels of metals may inhibit microalgae growth.  相似文献

In order to understand the influence of alkyl side chains on the gas‐phase reactivity of 1,4‐naphthoquinone derivatives, some 2‐hydroxy‐1,4‐naphthoquinone derivatives have been prepared and studied by electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry in combination with computational quantum chemistry calculations. Protonation and deprotonation sites were suggested on the basis of gas‐phase basicity, proton affinity, gas‐phase acidity (ΔGacid), atomic charges and frontier orbital analyses. The nature of the intramolecular interaction as well as of the hydrogen bond in the systems was investigated by the atoms‐in‐molecules theory and the natural bond orbital analysis. The results were compared with data published for lapachol (2‐hydroxy‐3‐(3‐methyl‐2‐butenyl)‐1,4‐naphthoquinone). For the protonated molecules, water elimination was verified to occur at lower proportion when compared with side chain elimination, as evidenced in earlier studies on lapachol. The side chain at position C(3) was found to play important roles in the fragmentation mechanisms of these compounds. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The pulsed-field ionization (PFI) photoelectron (PE) spectrum of HF has been recorded at the chemical dynamics beamline of the advanced light source over the photon energy range 15.9-16.5 eV using a time-of-flight selection scheme at a resolution of 0.6 meV. Rotationally-resolved structure in the HF+(X 2 pi 3/2, 1/2, v+ = 0, 1) band systems are assigned. The spectral appearance of these systems agrees with a previous VUV laser PFI-PE study. Importantly, extensive rotationally-resolved structure between these two vibrational band systems is also observed. This is attributed to ion-pair formation via Rydberg states converging on the v+ = 1 vibrational levels of the HF+(X 2 pi 3/2, 1/2) spin-orbit states. These Rydberg states are assigned to the 1 sigma+ part of the nd-complexes (sigma, pi, and delta). Ion-pair formation is observed in this study by the detection of F- ions. Some partially rotationally-resolved structure in a previously published threshold photoelectron spectrum is similarly attributed to ion-pair formation (F- detection) through a combination of the v+ = 17 level of the (A 2 sigma+) 3s sigma Rydberg state and the (X 2 pi 3/2, 1/2, v+ = 1) 7d Rydberg states. On the basis of the present study, an accurate experimental value for the dissociation energy of the ground state of HF has been obtained, D0(HF) = 5.8650(5) eV.  相似文献

The synthesis of a novel series of twelve 4‐(trihalomethyl)dipyrimidin‐2‐ylamines, from the cyclo‐condensation reaction of 4‐(trichloromethyl)‐2‐guanidinopyrimidine, with β‐alkoxyvinyl trihalomethyl ketones, of general formula: X3C‐C(O)‐C(R2)=C(R1)‐OR, where: X = F, Cl; R = Me, Et, ‐(CH2)2‐, ‐(CH2)3‐; R1 = H, Me; R2 = H, Me, ‐(CH2)2‐, ‐(CH2)3‐, is reported. The reactions were carried out in acetonitrile under reflux for 16 hours, leading to the dipyrimidin‐2‐ylamines in 65‐90% yield. Depending on the substituents of the vinyl ketone, tetrahydropyrimidines or aromatic pyrimidine rings were obtained from the cyclization reaction. When X = Cl, elimination of the trichloromethyl group was observed during the cyclization step. The structure of 4‐(trihalomethyl)dipyrimidin‐2‐ylamines was studied in detail by 1H‐, 13C‐ and 2D‐nmr spectroscopy.  相似文献

Novel N-Mannich base-type derivatives of the antimalarial drug amodiaquine were synthesised by reaction with tertiary N-chloromethylamides. With the exception of the derivative of ethyl hippurate, all the so-formed (1-amidomethyl-1H-quinolin-4-ylidene)arylamines displayed high chemical and enzymatic stability. These compounds displayed antimalarial activity against the multi-drug resistant Plasmodium falciparum strain Dd2 (IC50 values 15-31 nM) and demonstrated no significant loss in activity compared to amodiaquine (IC50 30 nM).  相似文献

Alpha-furil [C(4)H(3)O-C(=O)-C(=O)-C(4)H(3)O] has been isolated in argon and xenon matrices and studied by FTIR spectroscopy, supported by DFT(B3LYP)/6-311++G(d,p) calculations. The obtained spectra were fully assigned and revealed the presence in the matrices of three different conformers, all of them exhibiting skewed conformations around the intercarbonyl bond with the two C(4)H(3)O-C(=O) fragments nearly planar. The three conformers differ in the orientation of the furan rings relative to the carbonyl groups: the most stable conformer, I (C(2) symmetry; O=C-C=O intercarbonyl dihedral equal to 153.1 degrees), has both furan rings orientated in such a way that one of their beta-hydrogen atoms approaches the oxygen atom of the most distant carbonyl group, forming two H-C=C-C-C=O six-membered rings; the second most stable conformer, II (C(1) symmetry; O=C-C=O intercarbonyl dihedral equal to 126.9 degrees ), has one furan ring orientated as in I, while the second furan group is rotated by ca. 180 degrees (resulting in an energetically less favourable H-C=C-C=O five-membered ring); in the third conformer, III (C(2) symmetry; O=C-C=O dihedral equal to 106.2 degrees ), both furan rings assume the latter orientation relative to the dicarbonyl group. The theoretical calculations predicted the two higher energy forms being 5.85 and 6.22 kJ mol(-1) higher in energy than the most stable form, respectively, and energy barriers for conformational interconversion higher than 40 kJ mol(-1). These barriers are high enough to prevent observation of conformational isomerization for the matrix isolated compound. The three possible conformers of alpha-furil were also found to be present in CCl(4) solution, as well as in a low temperature neat amorphous phase of the compound prepared from fast condensation of its vapour onto a suitable 10 K cooled substrate. On the other hand, in agreement with the available X-ray data [S. C. Biswas, S. Ray and A. Podder, Chem. Phys. Lett., 1987, 134, 541], the IR spectra obtained for the neat low temperature crystalline state reveals that, in this phase, alpha-furil exists uniquely in its most stable conformational state, I.  相似文献

The analgesic dipeptide kyotorphin (L-Tyr-L-Arg) and an acylated kyotorphin derivative were studied by a combination of theoretical (molecular dynamics simulation and quantum mechanics methods) and experimental (fluorescence and infrared spectroscopies) approaches both in solution and in model systems of membranes. At biological pH the peptides have a neutral net charge. Nevertheless, their phenolic rings interact with phospholipid molecules (partition coefficient varies from 6 x 10(2) to 2 x 10(4), depending on the lipid and pH used) despite being exposed to the aqueous bulk medium. The lowest energy transition dipole moment is displaced from the normal to the lipid bilayer by 20 degrees on average. The observed extensive interaction, pK(a), precise location, and well-defined orientation in membranes combined with the ability to discriminate rigid raftlike membrane domains suggest that kyotorphin meets the structural constraints needed for receptor-ligand interaction. The acylated kyotorphin derivative mimics kyotorphin properties and represents a promising way for entrapment in a drug carrier and transport across the blood-brain barrier.  相似文献
