Branching equation of Andronov-Hopf bifurcation under group symmetry conditions

In branching theory of solutions of nonlinear equations group analysis methods [Ovsyannikov, Group Analysis of Differential Equations (Nauka, Moscow, 1978); Lectures on the Theory of Group Properties of Differential Equations (Novosibirsk University, Novosibirsk, 1966)] give the general approach for the construction of the complete form of branching equation and its subsequent investigation. These methods are applied here to the general situation of Andronov-Hopf bifurcation when there are some multiple semisimple eigenvalues on imaginary axis. Calculation of eigenvalues and eigenvectors of bounded operators by the false-perturbation method

M. K. Gavurin proposed (RZh Mat. 4B383, 1962) an iteration method based on the theory of perturbations for finding the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of linear operators. The method was developed later by F. Kunert (RZh Mat. 5B815, 1968). In the present note, using results of V. A. Effect of high voltage electrical discharges on filtration properties of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast suspensions

In the present work the dead-end filtration of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast suspensions disrupted by high voltage electrical discharges (HVED treatment) was investigated. The efficiency of disruption was evaluated using conductivity disintegration index of suspension Z (Z = 0–1) and absorbance spectra of supernatant solutions. The electronic microscopy study, particle sizing and measuring of ζ-potential and turbidity were used to characterize variation of the colloidal properties of a yeast suspension during disruption. The HVED treatment was found to cause an effective disruption of yeast cells and extraction of intracellular proteins and other bio-products. The study of filtration revealed suspension filterability deterioration after disruption. It was shown that filtration behaviour of the HVED-processed suspensions was governed by cake formation, the filtrate volume decreased and the cake resistance increased with increase of Z. For high levels of disruption (Z > 0.99), filtration was governed by membrane fouling. The optimal dosage of polycationic flocculant promoted the formation of flocks and accelerated filtration. However, selected flocculant (poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)) provoked binding of bio-product and was inappropriate for using as an agent enhancing extraction from disrupted yeast cells.

Active centers of SiO₂ formed during thermolysis of methoxylated silica surface has been studied by ESR. Several types of coordinatively unsaturated silicon atoms, which differ in location and number but show similar reactivity toward various adsorbates, have been found.

Stacking reactions of the borole complex Cp*Rh(η5-C4H4BPh) with the dicationic fragments [Cp*M]2+ (M = Rh or Ir)

The reaction of the (borole)rhodium iodide complex [(η-C₄H₄BPh)RhI]₄ with Cp^*Li afforded the sandwich compound Cp^*Rh(η-C₄H₄BPh) (4). The reactions of compound 4 with the solvated complexes [Cp^*M(MeNO₂)₃]²⁺(BF ₄ ⁻ )₂ gave triple-decker cationic complexes with the central borole ligand [Cp^*Rh(η-η⁵:η⁵-C₄H₄BPh)MCp^*]²⁺(BF ₄ ⁻ )₂ (M = Rh (5) or Ir (7)). Simulating the experimental vacuum ultraviolet radiation of rare-gases plasma

Experimental excimer continua emitted by electric discharge plasma of krypton and xenon were interpreted as the ¹ Σ _u ⁺ → ¹ Σ _g ⁺ bound-free transitions. The relative populations of the lower vibrational levels of the ¹ Σ _u ⁺ state were derived fitting experimental spectra with the theoretical ones.

Structures of Tris(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium Salts of Succinic Acid

Succinic acid salts-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium succinate (C₆H₁₆NO₃) ₂ ⁺ C₄H₄O ₄ ^2? (monoclinic crystals, sp. gr. P2₁/c, Z = 4) and tris(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium hydrogen succinate (C₆H₁₆NO₃)⁺C₄H₅O ₄ ^? (monoclinic crystals, sp. gr. P2₁/c, Z = 4)—were synthesized and structurally characterized. The specific features of the three-dimensional structures of tris(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium salts of succinic acid are considered. The role of interionic electrostatic interactions in the structure stabilization and the formation of products of composition 1: 1 and 1: 2 derived from succinic acid is discussed.
