Synthesis of enamino ketones from <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-(2-vinyloxyalkyl)-ethane-1,2-diamines

Condensation of N-(2-vinyloxyethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine with aromatic aldehydes gave mixtures of 2-aryl-1-(2-vinyloxyethyl)imidazolidines and N-arylmethylidene-N′-(2-vinyloxyethyl)ethane-1,2-diamines in an overall yield of 79–84%, while analogous condensation with cyclic and acyclic ketones resulted in the formation of only the corresponding Schiff bases (yield 53–83%).     

Synthesis and properties of Fe(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Zn(II) chelates with 4-nitrosemicarbazide

Chelates M(O₂NNCONHNH₂)₂ · 2H₂O (M = Fe, Co, Ni, Zn) were prepared by the reactions of 4-nitrosemicarbazide with appropriate 3d transition metal salts. The structures of the compounds were suggested on the basis of data obtained by physicochemical methods. The compounds obtained were shown to be energetic substances.     

Synthesis of cobalt bis(dicarbollide) conjugates with natural chlorins by the Sonogashira reaction

Novel boron-containing conjugates based on the alkynylated cobalt bis(dicarbollide) anion and chlorin e ₆ and purpurinimide p-iodophenyl derivatives were synthesized by the Sonogashira reaction. These conjugates can accumulate in the cancer cell cytoplasm and can be considered as potential candidates for using in boron neutron capture therapy of tumors.     

Synthesis of hetero-substituted derivatives of cobalt bis(1,2-dicarbollide)

A new approach to synthesis of hetero-substituted derivatives of cobalt bis(1,2-dicarbollide) was proposed. The approach involves stepwise introduction of functional groups into different dicarbollide ligands. Halogenation of the monohydroxy derivative [8-OH-3,3??-Co-(1,2-C₂B₉H₁₀)(1??,2??-C₂B₉H₁₁)]^? gave the corresponding halogen hydroxy derivatives [8-OH-8??-X-3,3??-Co(1,2-C₂B₉H₁₀)₂]^? (X = Cl, Br, and I). Reactions of 8,8??-??-iodonium-3-commo-cobaltbis(1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaborate) [8,8??-I-3,3??-Co(1,2-C₂B₉H₁₀)₂] with chloroform and 1,2-dibromoethane yielded the mixed halides [8-Y-8??-I-3,3??-Co(1,2-C₂B₉H₁₀)₂]^? (Y = Cl and Br).     

Anomalous spin relaxation and quantum criticality in Mn1 − x Fe x Si solid solutions

We report results of the high frequency (60 GHz) electron spin resonance (ESR) study of the quantum critical metallic system Mn_{1 ? x} Fe _x Si. The ESR is observed for the first time in the concentration range 0 < x < 0.24 at temperatures up to 50 K. The application of the original experimental technique allowed carrying out line shape analysis and finding full set of spectroscopic parameters, including oscillating magnetization, line width and g factor. The strongest effect of iron doping consists in influence on the ESR line width and spin relaxation is marked by both violation of the classical Korringa-type relaxation and scaling behavior. Additionally, the non-Fermi-liquid effects in the temperature dependence of the ESR line width, which may be quantitatively described in the theory of Wölfle and Abrahams, are observed at quantum critical points x* ～ 0.11 and x _c ～ 0.24.
