Condensation of <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-(2-vinyloxyethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine with carbonyl compounds

Condensation of N-(2-vinyloxyethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine with aromatic aldehydes gave mixtures of 2-aryl-1-(2-vinyloxyethyl)imidazolidines and N-arylmethylidene-N′-(2-vinyloxyethyl)ethane-1,2-diamines in an overall yield of 79–84%, while analogous condensation with cyclic and acyclic ketones resulted in the formation of only the corresponding Schiff bases (yield 53–83%).

Kinetic characteristics of initiated oxidation of limonene

The kinetics of oxygen absorption .n the process of limonen (4-isopropenyl- l-methulcyclohex-1-ene) oxidation was studied in chlorobenzene solution at 40–80 °C. The values of the kinetic parameters of oxidation and the activation energy (38.1 kJ mol^–1) have been determined. The nonlinear dependence of the rate of the oxidation of limonene on its concentration has been established, The rate constants of the chain termination reactions were estimated by chemiluminescence techniques.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Physicochemical studies of the structure of N,N′-dinitrourea and its salts

The properties and behavior of dinitrourea and its potassium and dipotassium salts in different solvents have been studied by IR and UV spectroscopy. In different media, dinitrourea can exist in several tautomeric forms. An XRD study of the potassium and dipotassium salts of dinitrourea revealed a tendency toward equalization of the bond lengths of the C-N⁻-NO₂ fragments compared with those of C-NH-NO₂, which agrees with the results of quantum-chemical calculations.     

Condensation of 1-Alkylamino-3-(2-vinyloxyethoxy)propan-2-ols with Carbonyl Compounds

Condensation of 1-alkylamino-3-(2-vinyloxyethoxy)propan-2-ols with carbonyl compounds furnished 5-(2-vinyloxyethoxy)methyl-1,3-oxazolidines in 56-93% yield.     

3-(4,5-Dihydro-1<Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis>-pyrazol-1-ylmethyl)oxazolidines and 3-(4,5-dihydro-1<Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis>-pyrazol-1-ylmethyl)perhydro-1,3-oxazines

3-(4,5-Dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-ylmethyl)oxazolidines and 3-(4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-ylmethyl)perhydro-1,3-oxazines were synthesized in 54–85% yield by reactions of α-amino alcohols and 3-aminopropan-1-ol, respectively, with formaldehyde and 4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazoles.

Extracoordination sensitivity of tetraphenylporphyrin complexes to gaseous ammonia

The sensitivity of metal tetraphenylporphyrin complexes MTPP (M = Pt^II, Pt^IVCl₂, Re^IVO; TPP is tetraphenylporphyrin) to gaseous ammonia was studied. The gas sensitivity of MTPP is due to the heterogeneous catalytic oxidation of ammonia with the dioxygen ligands in the composition of MTPP. The influence of water vapor on the electrophysical properties of the surface layer of the complexes during adsorption of water and its participation in reactions of the coordinated ammonia and dioxygen were found. Empirical equations relating the conductivity of the MTPP surface layer to the content of water vapor and the concentration of gaseous ammonia were found.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk.
