The recently discovered anisotropic superconductor MgB2 is the first of its kind showing the intriguing properties of two-band superconductivity. By tunneling experiments using thin film tunnel junctions, electron-coupled phonon spectra were determined showing that superconductivity in MgB2 is phonon mediated. In a further analysis, which involves first principles calculations, the strongest feature in these spectra could be traced back to the key quantity of two-band superconductivity, the interband pairing interaction. For the phonons, this interaction turns out quite selective. It involves mainly low-energy optical phonon modes, where the boron atoms move perpendicular to the boron planes.  相似文献

Superconductivity with transitions near 80 K and 110 K has been observed in sintered samples of the system Bi–Ca–Sr–Cu–O. The samples were prepared from mixed powders of the oxides or carbonates of the metallic elements. It was found that the heat treatment has to be restricted to a narrow temperature range near 800 °C to obtain optimum samples with respect to superconductivity. The best samples show two transitions of equal height at 80 K and 110 K with onsets near 115 K as determined from resistivity.  相似文献

X-ray diffraction, resistivity, AC and DC magnetization data on high-quality single crystals of YBa2Cu3O7−δ are presented. We demonstrate that for δ<0.08, the (0 0 l) diffraction lines are split into two, indicating that at these high oxygen concentrations the crystals are no longer single phase but actually consist of two (or more) different phases with slightly different c-axis parameters. In the two-phase region, the electrical resistivity and the AC and DC magnetic susceptibilities show a broadening of the superconducting transition. This broadening is thought to be due to the proximity effect or strains in two finely dispersed phases with slightly different transition temperatures.  相似文献

Evaluation of pesticides' fate in the atmosphere is important in terms of environmental effects on non-target areas and risk assessments analysis. This evaluation is usually done in the laboratory using analytical grade materials and is then extrapolated to more realistic conditions. To assess the effect of the pesticide purity level (i.e. analytical vs. technical) and state (i.e. sorbed film vs. airborne particles), we have investigated the oxidation rates and products of technical grade cypermethrin as thin film and in its airborne form, and compared it with our former results for analytical grade material. Technical grade thin film kinetics for both ozone and OH radicals revealed reaction rates similar to the analytical material, implying that for these processes, the analytical grade can be used as a good proxy. Oxidation products, however, were slightly different with two additional condensed phase products: formanilide, N-phenyl and 2-biphenyl carboxylic acid, which were seen with the technical grade material only. OH experiments revealed spectral changes that suggest the immediate formation of surface products containing OH functionalities. For the ozonolysis studies of airborne material, a novel set-up was used, which included a long-path FTIR cell in conjugation with a Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer (SMPS) system. This set-up allowed monitoring of real-time reaction kinetics and product formation (gas and condensed phases) together with aerosol size distribution measurements. Similar condensed phase products were observed for airborne and thin film technical grade cypermethrin after ozonolysis. Additionally, CO, CO(2) and possibly acetaldehyde were identified as gaseous oxidation products in the aerosols experiments only. A kinetic model fitted to our experimental system enabled the identification of both primary and secondary products as well as extraction of a formation rate constant. Kinetic calculations (based on gaseous products formation rate) have revealed values similar to that of the thin film experiments. Interestingly, heterogeneous oxidation of cypermethrin was also found to generate ultra fine secondary organic aerosols. Again, no significant difference was observed between analytical and technical grade materials. However, particle size distribution was much broader when films were exposed to OH and ozone than to ozone alone.  相似文献

The geometry of ethylenedioxy-tetrathiafulvalene, EDO-TTF, plays an important role in the metal-insulator transition in the charge transfer salt (EDO-TTF)(2)PF(6). The planar and off-planar geometrical conformations of the EDO-TTF molecules are explained using an extended Debye polarizability model for the bond angle. The geometrical structure of EDO-TTF is dictated by its four sulfur bond angles and these are, in turn, determined by the polarizability of the sulfur atoms. With Hartree-Fock and second-order M?ller-Plesset perturbation theory calculations on EDO-TTF, TTF, H(2)S, and their oxygen and selenium substituted counterparts we confirm this hypothesis. The Debye polarizability model for bond angles relates directly the optimum bond angle with the polarizability of the center atom. Considering the (EDO-TTF)(2)PF(6) material in this light proves to be very fruitful.  相似文献
