Naphthalimide-rhodamine based fluorescent probe for ratiometric sensing of cellular pH

The pH values of lysosomes in cancer cells is slightly lower than that in normal cells, which can be used to distinguish cancer cells from normal cells. According to this, a naphthalimide-rhodamine based fluorescent probe(hereafter referred to as RBN) with a pK_a of 4.20 was designed and synthesized for ratiometric sensing of cellular pH via fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET), which can respond to different pH precisely through ratiometric fluorescence intensity(Ⅰ_(577)/Ⅰ_(540)). RBN can be employed to distinguish cancer cells from normal cells on the basis of different fluorescent response, in particular, RBN showed excellent water solubility and low cell toxicity, all these are quite significant for potential application in cancer diagnose and therapy.     

Γ-Convergence of 2D Ginzburg-Landau functionals with vortex concentration along curves

We study the variational convergence of a family of twodimensional Ginzburg-Landau functionals arising in the study of superfluidity or thin-film superconductivity as the Ginzburg-Landau parameter ε tends to 0. In this regime and for large enough applied rotations (for superfluids) or magnetic fields (for superconductors), the minimizers acquire quantized point singularities (vortices). We focus on situations in which an unbounded number of vortices accumulate along a prescribed Jordan curve or a simple arc in the domain. This is known to occur in a circular annulus under uniform rotation, or in a simply connected domain with an appropriately chosen rotational vector field. We prove that if suitably normalized, the energy functionals Γ-converge to a classical energy from potential theory. Applied to global minimizers, our results describe the limiting distribution of vortices along the curve in terms of Green equilibrium measures.     

Quantification of cerebral blood flow by bolus tracking and artery spin tagging methods

This study deals with perfusion quantification in healthy volunteers using two types of dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods. Absolute cerebral blood flow (CBF) measurements were performed in 11 subjects by applying both bolus tracking of exogenous contrast agent and non-invasive arterial spin labeling MRI techniques. Both methods produced CBF images with good tissue contrast and CBF values are in good agreement with literature data. The correlation between cerebral blood volume (CBV) and CBF is also discussed.     

On the slowness of phase boundary motion in one space dimension

We study the limiting behavior of the solution of with a Neumann boundary condition or an appropriate Dirichlet condition. The analysis is based on “energy methods”. We assume that the initial data has a “transition layer structure”, i.e., u^? ≈ ±+M 1 except near finitely many transition points. We show that, in the limit as ? → 0, the solution maintains its transition layer structure, and the transition points move slower than any power of ?.     

Synthesis and helical twisting property of polymerizable chiral dopant with temperature-dependent solubility in liquid crystal

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Monocarbonyl Analogs of Curcumin

Two monocarbonyl analogs of curcumin containing bis(2,6-difluorobenzyl) were synthesized,and their molecular structures were characterized by 1H NMR,ESI-MS,and X-ray crystallography.In this paper,the crystal structures of these two analogs(A75 and C75) are described and compared with their bis(2-fluorobenzyl) analogues as well as with the available data of curcumin.The cyclopentane rings in A75 have an envelope conformation,while the cyclohexane ring in C75 has a chair conformation.The compounds are symmetrical and the central structure of A75 and C75 connects with two benzylidene rings through E,E-oriented double bonding.     

Synthesis and characterization of in-chain silyl-hydride functional SBR and self-crosslinking elastomer

Functional in-chain silyl-hydride(Si-H) SBR copolymers of 4-vinyiphenyldimethylsilanol(VPDMS) and butadiene were synthesized by living anionic polymerization,in which active group Si-H was not lost and its content was controllable. Corresponding self-crosslinking elastomers were obtained by hydrosilation of Si-H group with vinyl bonds in chain.The copolymers and elastomers were characterized by ~1H NMR,size exclusion chromatography(SEC),Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy,differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),and thermogravimetry analysis(TGA) techniques.     

Cytotoxic terpenes from Abies sibirica

One new and 16 known compounds were isolated from Abies sibirica.Their structures were assigned mainly on the basis of NMR and MS spectroscopic data.In bioassay for anti-proliferative activity against four human tumor cells,compound 7 exhibited selective anti-proliferative activity against COLO-205 tumor cell with an IC₅₀ value of 0.9μg/mL.     

Synthesis of trimethylammoniumphenylthio-substituted phthalocyanines with different pattern of substitution

The base-catalyzed cyclotetramerization of 3-, 4- and 4,5-dimethylaminophenylthio phthalonitriles with zinc(II)acetate afforded 1(4),8(11),15(18),22(25)- and 2(3),9(10),16(17),23(24)-tetrasubstituted and 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octasubstituted Zn(II)phthalocyanines, respectively. The statistical mixed condensation of the same phthalonitriles with 1,2-dicyanobenzene gave the corresponding mono- and disubstituted derivatives. Methylation of such products afforded a series of cationic Zn(II)phthalocyanines with different pattern of substitution, with potential use as photodynamic agents in microbial infections.     

Study on Tonghaosu and Its Analogs： Isolation, Structure Identification and Synthesis of Antifeedant B-ring-homo-tonghaosu

The methanolic extract from a Chinese endemic Chrysanthemum plant, Dendranthema indicum var. aromaticum, was found to show high antifeeding activity against Pieris brassicae L., and by bioassay-guided separation, the active component, B-ring-homo-tonghaosu, 2-(2‘,4‘-hexadiynylidene)-1,6-dioxaspiro-[4,5]-dec-3-ene (2) was isolated. Its structure was elucidated by comparing its spectroscopic data with those of 2 reported in the literatures. Furthermore new convenient total synthesis methods of B-ring-homo-tonghaosu were also developed to confirm its structure and make its further application in crop protection available. In addition, extensive comparison of spectroscopic data showed that the structure of compound 21 reported in literature should be revised to 2.
