We have demonstrated the highly efficient excitation of the linearly polarized mode(LP01)in ring-core fibers(RCFs)by tapering the spliced point between the RCF and the standard single-mode fiber(SMF)to optimize all-fiber orbital angular momentum(OAM)generation.The tapering technique has been investigated theoretically and experimentally.Before tapering,only 50%of light can be coupled from SMFs to RCFs.The modal interference spectrum with an extinction ratio(ER)of~9 dB is observed,showing that higher-order modes are excited in RCF.By tapering the spliced point,90%of light is coupled,and the ER is minimized to be~2 dB,indicating that the higher-order modes are effectively suppressed by tapering.Such tapered spliced points of RCF–SMF are further applied for all-fiber OAM generation.The efficiencies of OAM+1 and OAM?1 generation are found to be enhanced by approximately 11.66%and 12.41%,respectively,showing that the tapered spliced point of the RCF–SMF is a feasible way to optimize OAM generation.  相似文献

We emphasize that it is extremely important for future neutrinoless double-beta(0νββ)decay experiments to reach the sensitivity to the effective neutrino mass|mββ|≈1 meV.With such a sensitivity,it is highly possible to discover the signals of 0νββ decays.If no signal is observed at this sensitivity level,then either neutrinos are Dirac particles or stringent constraints can be placed on their Majorana masses.In this paper,assuming the sensitivity of|mββ|≈1 meV for future 0νββ decay experiments and the precisions on neutrion oscillation parameters after the JUNO experiment,we fully explore the constrained regions of the lightest neutrino mass m1 and two Majorana-type CP-violating phases{ρ,σ}.Several important conclusions in the case of normal neutrino mass ordering can be made.First,the lightest neutrino mass is severely constrained to a narrow range m1∈[0.7,8]meV,which together with the precision measurements of neutrino mass-squared differences from oscillation experiments completely determines the neutrino mass spectrum m2∈[8.6,11.7]meV ing phases is limited to ρ∈[130°,230°],which cannot be obtained from any other realistic experiments.Third,the sum of three neutrino masses is found to beΣ≡m1+m2+m3∈[59.2,72.6]meV,while the effective neutrino mass for beta decays turns out to be mβ≡(|Ue1|2m1^2+|Ue2|2m2^2+|Ue3|2m3^2)1/2∈[8.9,12.6]meV.These observations clearly set up the roadmap for future non-oscillation neutrino experiments aiming to solve the fundamental problems in neutrino physics.  相似文献

The combination of dispersive magnetic permeability with nonlinear polarization leads to a series of nonlinear dispersion terms in the propagation equations for ultrashort pulses in metamaterials. Here we present an investigation of modulation instability (MI) of both coherent and partially coherent ultrashort pulses in metamaterials to identify the role of nonlinear dispersion in pulse propagation. The Wigner–Moyal equation for partially coherent ultrashort pulses and the nonlinear dispersion relation for MI in metamaterials are derived. Combining the standard MI theory with the unique properties of the metamaterial, the influence of the controllable first-order nonlinear dispersion, namely self-steepening, and the second-order nonlinear dispersion on both coherent and partially coherent MI, in both negative-index and positive-index regions of the metamaterial for all physically possible cases is analyzed in detail. For the first time to our knowledge, we demonstrate that the role of the second-order nonlinear dispersion in MI is equivalent to that of group-velocity dispersion (GVD) to some extent, and thus due to the role of the second-order nonlinear dispersion, MI may appear in the otherwise impossible cases, such as in the normal GVD regime. This paper investigates two key techniques used in 60 GHz Radio over Fiber (RoF) technology for wireless access, namely, the generation of 60 GHz signals and the distribution of 60 GHz local oscillator (LO). In the proposed model, a 60 GHz PSK signal is generated by a heterodyne of two subcarriers with narrow-angle PSK (NA-PSK) modulation, whose phase shift is equal to one half that of a normal PSK signal. Then we use a 60 GHz mixer to frequency mix two PSK signals in two different bands, 60 GHz and baseband. By doing this, the modulation information can be fully eliminated, resulting in a 60 GHz LO. In the wireless terminal, coherent demodulation is realized by a self-mixing of the transmitted 60 GHz PSK signal and LO. Thus no millimeter-wave (mm-wave) band oscillator is needed in the wireless terminal.  相似文献

Impure ZnO materials are of great interest for high temperature thermoelectric application. In this work, we present the effects of Al-doping on the thermoelectric properties and electronic structures of a ZnO system. We find that, with increasing Al concentrations, the electrical conductivity increases and the thermal conductivity decreases significantly, whereas, the Seebeck coefficient decreases slightly. Nevertheless, the figure of merit (ZT) increases owing to high electrical conductivity and low thermal conductivity. On the other hand, the electronic band structures show that the position of the Fermi level is moved upwards and the bands split near the valence-band top and conduction-band bottom. This is due to the interaction between the Al3p and Zn4s orbitals, which drive the system towards semimetal. Besides, the Density Of States (DOS) analysis shows that the introduction of Al atom obviously reduces the slope d(DOS)/dE near the Fermi level. Based on the calculated band structures, we are able to explain qualitatively the measured transport properties of the Al-doped ZnO system.  相似文献
