The natural vibration analysis of a periodic structure with repeated identical substructures may be simplified by using some symmetrical properties of the substructure dynamic matrices, resulting in a set of linear difference equations in the displacements. These equations are readily solved for cyclic symmetric systems, simply supported systems and infinite systems. The order of the overall frequency equations is at most equal to one half of the total number of degrees of freedom retained for a single substructure regardless of the number of substructures in the system. This paper addresses a unified mathematical expression describing a class of chaotic systems, for which the problem of adaptive synchronization between two nearly identical chaotic and hyper-chaotic systems with uncertain parameters is studied. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, a novel adaptive synchronization controller is designed, and the analytic expression of the controller and the adaptive laws of parameters are developed. The controller is simple and systemic, no parameters of the slave system are included in the controller, and, for some specific error systems, the controller can be simplified ulteriorly. For the packaging of a pump laser in butterfly package, the most crucial assembly step is the fiber-to-laser diode coupling and attachment. The use of laser welding as the joining method offers several advantages if compared with the adhesive joints: strong joining strength, short process time and less contamination. This paper reports on laser welding process characteristics; weld strength and its fracture mode. The penetration depth and melt area of laser spot welds were found to be complicated functions of laser pulse energy, intensity, and beam diameter. Effects of pulse width, input power and size of the focal spot on the rate of energy input to the workpieces and consequently, the weld strength were reported. The weld strength was found to be dependent on the overlapping area between the two joining materials. Surface roughness, Ra, has influence on the fraction of energy absorbed, A, and therefore, affecting the penetration depth. Thermal analysis was carried out on the laser-welded joints and its heat-affected zone (HAZ) induced by various power densities was examined. These data are important in order to optimize and utilize the laser welding process as an effective manufacturing tool for fabrication of reliable pump laser. 相似文献

Production planning problems play a vital role in the supply chain management area, by which decision makers can determine the production loading plan—consisting of the quantity of production and the workforce level at each production plant—to fulfil market demand. This paper addresses the production planning problem with additional constraints, such as production plant preference selection. To deal with the uncertain demand data, a stochastic programming approach is proposed to determine optimal medium-term production loading plans under an uncertain environment. A set of data from a multinational lingerie company in Hong Kong is used to demonstrate the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed model. The room-temperature adsorption and thermal evolution of allylamine on Si(100)2 × 1 have been investigated by using temperature-dependent X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and thermal desorption spectrometry (TDS). The presence of a broad N 1 s feature at 398.9 eV, attributed to a N―Si bond, indicates N―H dissociative adsorption. On the other hand, the presence of C 1 s features at 284.6 eV and 286.2 eV, corresponding to C═C and C―N, respectively, and the absence of the Si―C feature expected at 283.2 eV shows that [2 + 2] C═C cycloaddition does not occur at room temperature. These XPS data are consistent with the unidentate staggered and eclipsed allylamine conformer adstructures arising from N―H dissociation and not [2 + 2] C═C cycloaddition. The apparent conversion of the N 1 s feature for Si―N(H)―C at 398.9 eV to that for Si―N(H) at 397.7 eV and the total depletion of C 1 s feature for C―N at 286.2 eV near 740 K indicates cleavage of the C―N bond, leaving behind a Si―N(H) radical. Furthermore, the C═C C 1 s feature at 284.6 eV undergoes steep intensity reduction between 740 K and 825 K, above which a new C 1 s feature at 283.2 eV corresponding to SiC is found to emerge. These spectral changes suggest total dissociation of the ethenyl fragment and the formation of SiC. Moreover, while the total N 1 s intensity undergoes a minor reduction (24%) upon annealing up to 1090 K, a considerable reduction (43%) is found in the overall C 1 s intensity. This observation is consistent with our TDS data, which shows the desorption of C-containing molecules including propene and ethylene at 580 K and of acetylene at 700 K. The lack of N-containing desorbates suggests that the dissociated N species are likely bonded to multiple surface Si atoms or diffused into the bulk. Interestingly, both the staggered and eclipsed N―H dissociative adstructures are found to have a less negative adsorption energy than the [N, C, C] tridentate or the [2 + 2] C═C cycloaddition adstructures by our DFT calculations, which suggests that the observed formation of N―H dissociative adstructures is kinetically favored on the Si(100)2 × 1 surface. 相似文献
