The application of the G-SERFph pulse sequence is presented on enantiomeric mixtures dissolved in a chiral liquid crystal. It aims at editing, within one single 2D spectrum, every proton coupling which is experienced by a given proton site in the molecule, and leads to real phased T-edited spectroscopy (T=J+2D). This NMR experiment is based on the combination of homonuclear semi-selective refocusing techniques with a spatial frequency encoding of the sample. This approach, which consists in handling selectively each coupling in separate cross sections of the sample, is applied to the visualization of enantiomers dissolved in a chiral liquid crystalline phase. Advantages and limits of this methodology are widely discussed.  相似文献

The efficiency of conventional diffractive optical elements with échelette-type profiles drops rapidly as the illumination wavelength departs from the blaze wavelength. We describe a modified z-gradient filter scheme specifically designed to obtain pure absorption mode deuterium 2D NMR spectra recorded in oriented solvents. The proposed technique is investigated by analysing the evolution of the density operator for a spin I=1. The method is applied to the recently designed Q-COSY and Q-resolved 2D experiments to simplify the analysis of chiral molecules dissolved in weakly orienting chiral liquid crystals. The efficiency of this z-gradient filtering technique is illustrated using the perdeuterated 1-butanol, a prochiral molecule of average Cs symmetry, dissolved in an organic solution of poly-gamma-benzyl-L-glutamate (PBLG). The experimental results as well as the advantages of the new experiments compared with the previous ones are described and discussed.  相似文献

We first present a method to compute the electro-optic tensor from first principles, explicitly taking into account the electronic, ionic and piezoelectric contributions. We then study the nonlinear optic behavior of three paradigmatic ferroelectric oxides. Our calculations reveal the dominant contribution of the soft mode to the electro-optic coefficients in LiNbO3 and BaTiO3 and its minor role in PbTiO3. We identify the coupling between the electric field and the polar atomic displacements along the B-O chains as the origin of the large electro-optic response in perovskite ABO3 compounds.  相似文献

Coherent combining is demonstrated in a clad-pumped Yb-doped double-core fiber laser. A slope efficiency of more than 70% is achieved with 96% of the total output power in the fundamental mode of one of the two cores. This high combining efficiency is obtained when both cores are coupled via a biconical fused taper in a Michelson interferometer configuration.  相似文献

The design and testing of a reference material for the calibration of optical systems for strain measurement is described, together with the design and testing of a standardized test material that allows the evaluation and assessment of fitness for purpose of the most sophisticated optical system for strain measurement. A classification system for the steps in the measurement process is also proposed and allows the development of a unified approach to diagnostic testing of components or sub-systems in an optical system for strain measurement based on any optical technique. The results described arise from a European study known as SPOTS whose objectives were to begin to fill the gap caused by a lack of standards.  相似文献

A numerical model of sound transmission inside dwellings has been developed. It is based on a decoupled method mixing integral, modal and geometric approaches. Kropp's formulation has been adapted to take balconies into account. Architectural effects such as projected roofs or nearby buildings have been analysed. Sound transmission is strongly affected by the angle of incidence of incoming waves. The proposed approach makes use of velocity fields on windows either computed or measured with a laser vibrometer. The stabilization method provides an efficient approach to many problems in atomic and molecular dynamics. Real avoided crossings and smoothing techniques provide the relevant information to compute real density of states. The aim of this letter is to present an extension of the stabilization method that allows for a direct determination of full Green functions and resonance energies. The method is based on the use of optical potentials and perturbation theory. Real avoided crossings of the original stabilization method become complex and resonance energies appear to stabilize in the complex-energy plane. A numerical illustration is presented for a simple model of shape resonance. Accurate results are obtained with a small number of real square-integrable functions as in the original stabilization method. The computational efficiency of the approach and its generality are emphasized.  相似文献

A new nondestructive method for measuring the spatial distribution of chromatic dispersion along an optical fiber is presented. It is based on using Brillouin optical time-domain analysis to probe the power distribution of the four-wave mixing generated by two continuous-wave lasers. The results obtained prove that this new method is capable of providing better performance than comparable techniques. Furthermore, sensing the variations of Brillouin gain maximum produces additional information about the fiber, such as presence of strain and concentration of GeO2.  相似文献
