We present a theoretical and experimental study of self-rotation of incident elliptically polarized light on a rubidium atomic vapor. We construct density matrix equations, which are then solved numerically, and further averaged over atomic transit times and a Maxwell-Boltzmann velocity distribution. We calculate the rotation angle as a function of detuning for various laser intensities and polarizations. We compare the calculated results with experimental results and find good agreement between them.  相似文献

A spin polarization separation of reflected light is observed, when a linearly polarized Gaussian beam impinges on an air-glass interface at Brewster angle. In the far-field zone, spins of photons are oppositely polarized in two regions along the direction perpendicular to incident plane. Spatial scale of this polarization is related to optical properties of dielectric and can be controlled by experimental configuration. We believe that this study benefits the manipulation of spins of photons and the development of methods for investigating optical properties of materials.  相似文献

We apply the density matrix renormalization group to study the phase diagram of the infinite U Hubbard model on 2- to 6-leg ladders. Where the results are largely insensitive to the ladder width, we consider the results representative of the 2D square lattice. We find a fully polarized ferromagnetic Fermi liquid phase when n, the density of electrons per site, is in the range 1>n?0.800. For n=3/4 we find an unexpected insulating checkerboard phase with coexisting bond-density order with 4 sites per unit cell and block-spin antiferromagnetic order with 8 sites per unit cell. For 3/4>n, all ladders with width >2 have unpolarized ground states.  相似文献

The development direction of railways is toward the improvement of capacity and service quality, where the service quality includes safety, schedule, high speed, and comfort. In light of the existing cellular automaton models, in this paper, we develop a model to analyze the mixed running processes of trains with maximal speeds of 500 km/h and 350 km/h respectively in the moving block system. In the proposed model, we establish some sound rules to control the running processes of a train, where the rules include the departure rules in the intermediate stations, the overtaking rules, and the conditions of speed limitation for a train stopping at a station or passing through a station. With the consideration of the mixed ratio and the distance between two adjacent stations, the properties of the train traffic flow (including capacity and average speed) are simulated. The numerical results show that the interactions among different trains will affect the capacity, and a proper increase of the spatial distance between two adjacent stations can enhance the capacity and the average speed under the moving block.  相似文献

提出了一种简便的激光自混合散斑干涉测量流体速度的方法。根据散斑和法布里-珀罗腔的理论,提出了半导体激光器的自混合散斑干涉模型。研究了流体运动时在半导体激光器内产生的自混合散斑干涉效应(SMPI),给出了激光器输出增益的变化及其概率密度分布。得到了激光自混合散斑干涉平均频率与流体速度之间的关系。模拟计算和实验结果验证了这个关系。利用散斑干涉的平均频率与流体速度的关系测量了高分子材料溶液的速度,并在溶液浓度和背景光变化时,对流体速度进行了测量、比较和分析。实验表明。在溶液浓度不太低时,测量误差小于8%。  相似文献

The axial resolution of optical coherence tomography (OCT) is closely related to the light source spectrum width. Unfortunately, most basic sources providing the required power for decent OCT image have narrow spectra, which generate a resolution loss. Assuming the OCT system is linear shift-invariant, we can consider the system output as the convolution of the theoretical signal with a system impulse response due to this spectrum narrowness. It becomes then possible to enhance this resolution through iterative deconvolution methods (IDM). However those methods have a significant drawback, as they usually significantly enhance speckle, which is another consequence of the source spectrum narrowness. To compensate this, we rely on preliminary speckle filtering, and especially the adaptative ones, which allow tackling the speckle without blurring the image. We first studied enhancement proposed by most popular IDMs on OCT images, and then the effect of preliminary adaptive speckle filtering (ASF) by different common adaptive methods. Then, among those methods, we combined Frost filter and Richardson-Lucy deconvolution in the appropriated way; this way we both enhanced resolution by 2 and reduced speckle (raising CNR from 0.7 to 1.3)  相似文献

Reactively rf-sputtered Bi2O3-ZnO-Nb2O5 (BZN) thin films were prepared on Pt(111)/TiO2/SiO2/Si with substrate heating. The effects of substrate heating on the structures, morphologies, dielectric properties, and voltage-tunable dielectric properties of the films were investigated. With heating, the BZN thin films could be deposited in crystalline form as the cubic pyrochlore phase. The amounts of secondary phases, such as zinc niobate and bismuth niobate, depended on the substrate temperature. The more compounding of the BZN crystalline phase proceeded at deposition, the less formation of secondary phases and stoichiometric change occurred after post-annealing. Therefore, improvement of the dielectric constant and tunability of thin films by grain-size enlargement might be possible with proper substrate heating and post-annealing. The BZN thin films sputtered with a substrate temperature of 550 °C and annealed at 800 °C showed a maximum tunability of 26.5% at a dc bias field of 1000 kV/cm and measurement frequency of 1 MHz. A series of thin Ag films with different thicknesses grown under identical conditions are analyzed by means of spectrophotometer. From these measurements the values of refractive index and extinction coefficient are calculated. The films are deposited onto BK7 glass substrates by direct current (DC) magnetron sputtering. It is found that the optical properties of the Ag films can be affected by films thickness.Below critical thickness of 17 nm, which is the thickness at which Ag films form continuous films, the optical properties and constants vary significantly with thickness increasing and then tend to a stable value up to about 40 nm. At the same time, X-ray diffraction measurement is carried out to examine the microstructure evolution of Ag films as a function of films thickness. The relation between optical properties and microstructure is discussed.  相似文献
