Structural and mechanical properties of aqueous dispersions of Aerosil OX50 were studied by rotary viscometry. The thixotropic properties of concentrated (20-50 wt %) Aerosil dispersions used in the sol-gel synthesis of quartz glass are due to structurization caused by appreciable overlapping of the electrical double layers of the particles. The particle interaction occurring in a limited volume is accompanied by formation of periodic colloidal structures of the second kind. The viscoplastic properties and extrema in the pH dependence of the viscosity are explained in terms of collective interaction of Aerosil particles according to the Deryagin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek (DLVO) theory. 相似文献

Working media for gasdynamic lasers are considered. An experimental and theoretical study is made of N20 gasdynamic lasers (GDL) with adiabatic expansion from a slit. The kinetics of the physical processes in an N20-GDL is analyzed. The influence of the addition of hydrogen halides and of water on the relaxation processes in a C02 laser is investigated in detail. The conditions under which addition of hydrogen halides improves the laser operation are found. Chemically active media in GDL are studied, and the high effectiveness of the CS2-O2 mixture is demonstrated. The impact of a dc magnetic field on evanescent TE and TM waves at the interface of transparent media comprising a semiconductor layer and a semi-infinite antiferromagnet is investigated using Otto geometry as an example. It is shown that switching a dc magnetic field orthogonal to a sagittal plane allows maximum amplification of the intensity of propagating evanescent TM or TE waves in both a layer and in semi-infinite space. We present an analysis of the nucleon strange sea extracted from a global Parton Distribution Function fit including the neutrino and anti-neutrino dimuon data by the CCFR and NuTeV Collaborations, the inclusive charged lepton–nucleon Deep Inelastic Scattering and Drell–Yan data. The (anti-)neutrino induced dimuon analysis is constrained by the semileptonic charmed-hadron branching ratio Bμ=(8.8±0.5)%, determined from the inclusive charmed hadron measurements performed by the FNAL-E531 and CHORUS neutrino emulsion experiments. Our analysis yields a strange sea suppression factor κ(20 GeV2)=0.62±0.04(exp.)±0.03(QCD), the most precise value available, an x-distribution of total strange sea that is slightly softer than the non-strange sea, and an asymmetry between strange and anti-strange quark distributions consistent with zero (integrated over x it is equal to S−(20 GeV2)=0.0013±0.0009(exp.)±0.0002(QCD)). 相似文献
