The paper describes the sedimentation behavior of concentrated high-temperature oxide-fluoride slurries with alumina particles volume fraction range 0.24?≤?φ?≤?0.32 at ~700 °C. The behavior is of interest due to perspectives of the non-Newtonian fluids usage in the future aluminium reduction technology. To characterize sedimentation behavior several techniques were used: density analysis, X-Ray diffraction, microphotography and electron scanning microscopy. Sample with ?63?µm dispersed phase as well as smelter-grade alumina which contains particles in a range of 10–150?µm has been examined. It has been found that particle settling occurs with the initial velocity 0.97·10?5 m·s?1 at φ?=?0.24 and gradually reduces reaching zero at φ close to 0.32 which was considered as a maximum packing fraction. MS?1 sedimentation mode has been identified, the type of sedimentation was found to be changed from type 1 to type 3 in the sample with φ?=?0.24. The alumina partial density distribution in suspension as a function of time was determined. Alumina average motion velocity during sedimentation was calculated to be 154·10?3?kg·m?2·s?1 at φ?=?0.24 in the top layer of the sample within the first 150?s of sedimentation. It had been reducing drastically before it reached zero after 300?s. An alumina flow was higher in the top layers. Some of the rheological properties (such as relaxation time, which increased from 7.2·10?3 to 17.7·10?3?s after the increase of φ from 0.24 to 0.28) has been determined. 相似文献

In the present study, biobased polyurethane (BPU) samples were synthesized from three different polyols along with polymeric hexamethylene diisocyanate. The three different polyols were synthesized by reacting castor oil with ethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, and triethanolamine. The synthesized polyols were confirmed using proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectra analysis. BPU samples were confirmed by the disappearance of isocyanate peak in the FTIR spectra. The cross‐linking densities of all BPU samples were determined using swelling studies. Curing kinetics behavior of all BPU samples were analyzed using differential scanning calorimetry at three different heating rates (5, 7.5, and 10°C/min). The curing kinetic parameters were studied using three nonisothermal methods such as Kissinger, Flynn–Wall–Ozawa, and Ozawa, respectively. The activation energies were found to increase with increasing degree of cure (α). A class of problems associated with forced capillary-gravity wave motion in a channel are analyzed in the presence of surface and interfacial tensions in a two-layer fluid in both the cases of finite and infinite water depths. The two and three-dimensional Green functions associated with the capillary-gravity wave problems in the presence of surface and interfacial tensions are derived using the fundamental source potentials. Using the two-dimensional Green function along with Green’s second identity, the expansion formulae for the velocity potentials associated with the capillary-gravity wavemaker problems in two-dimensions are obtained. The two-dimensional results are generalized to derive the expansion formulae for the velocity potentials associated with the forced capillary-gravity wave motion in the presence of surface and interfacial tensions in three-dimensions. Certain characteristics of the eigen-system associated with the expansion formulae are derived. The velocity potentials associated with the free oscillation of capillary-gravity waves in a closed basin and semi-infinite open channel in the presence of surface and interfacial tensions are obtained. The utility of the forced motion in a channel is demonstrated by analyzing the capillary-gravity wave reflection by a wall in a channel in the presence of surface and interfacial tensions. Long wave equations associated with capillary-gravity wave motion in the presence of surface and interfacial tensions are derived under shallow water approximation and the associated dispersion relation are obtained. Various expansion formulae and Green functions derived in the present study will be useful for analyzing a large class of physical problems in ocean engineering and mathematical physics. 相似文献

Divinylbenzene derivatives represent an important class of molecular building blocks in organic chemistry and materials science. Reported herein is the palladium‐catalyzed synthesis of divinylbenzenes by meta‐C H olefination of sulfone‐based arenes. Successful sequential olefinations in a position‐selective manner provided a novel route for the synthesis of hetero‐dialkenylated products, which are difficult to access using conventional methods.
