Due to the demonstrated intestinal microbial transformation of strawberry ellagitannins (ET) into bioactive metabolites, in the current study on rats, we hypothesised that the dietary addition of a strawberry ET-rich extract (S-ET) to a high-fat diet (HFD) would attenuate disturbances in the redox and lipid status as well as in the inflammatory response. We randomly distributed 48 Wistar rats into six groups and used two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) to assess the effects of two main factors—diet type (standard and high-fat) and ET dosage (without, low, and 3× higher)—applied to rats for 4 weeks. In relation to the hypothesis, irrespective of the dosage, the dietary application of ET resulted in the desired attenuating effects in rats fed a HFD as manifested by decreased body weight gain, relative mass of the epididymal pad, hepatic fat, oxidized glutathione (GSSG), triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), and thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) concentrations as well as desired modifications in the blood plasma parameters. These beneficial changes were enhanced by the high dietary addition of ET, which was associated with considerably higher concentrations of ET metabolites in the urine and plasma of rats. The results indicated that S-ET could be effectively used for the prevention and treatment of metabolic disturbances associated with obesity, dyslipidaemia, redox status imbalance, and inflammation.  相似文献

We report here the fabrication of periodic sub-25 nm diameter size cylinder structures using block copolymer (BCP) directed self-assembly on nanoimprinted topographically patterned substrates. Tailored polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSSs) films were spin coated onto silicon substrates and were patterned by nanoimprint lithography to produce topographies commensurable with the BCP domain spacing. The chemistry of the POSS was tuned to control the alignment and orientation of the BCP films. The substrates were used to direct the microphase separation (following toluene solvent annealing) of a hexagonal structure forming polystyrene-block-polydimethylsiloxane (PS-b-PDMS) having a domain spacing of 42.6 nm and PDMS cylinder widths of 23.7 nm. On more hydrophilic POSS substrates the cylinders were obtained parallel to the substrate plane and aligned with the topography. In contrast, in more hydrophobic POSS patterns, the cylinders align perpendicular to the substrate plane. The use of these methods for the nanofabrication of vias, nanofluidic devices or interconnect structures of sub-25 nm feature size is discussed.  相似文献

From previous studies of the equation in the title with positive parameters p and q and positive initial conditions we know that if q h 4 p + 1 then the equilibrium is a global attractor. We also know that if q > 4 p + 1 then every solution eventually enters and remains in the interval [ p / q , 1]. In this strip there exists a "unique" prime period two solution that is locally asymptotically stable. In this paper, we provide more insight as to the behavior of solutions of the equation in the title in the strip [ p / q , 1], where a one-dimensional stable manifold lives.  相似文献

We have prepared the newly discovered Fe-based superconducting material LaO1-xFxFeAs (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2) in polycrystalline form and have investigated the samples by means of structural, thermodynamic and transport measurements. Our investigations reveal a non superconducting phase at 0 ≤ x 0.04 which for x = 0 is characterized by a structural transition towards an orthorhombic distortion at Ts ≈ 160 K and antiferromagnetic spin order at TN ≈ 138 K. Both transitions lead to strong anomalies in various transport properties as well as in magnetization and in specific heat. Remarkably, the transition temperatures are only weakly doping dependent up to x ≈ 0.04. However, the transitions are abruptly suppressed at x ≥ 0.05 in favour of a superconducting phase with a critical temperature Tc 20 K. Upon further increasing the F-doping Tc increases up to a maximum of Tc = 26.8 K at x = 0.1 which is followed by a decrease down to Tc ≈ 10 K at x ≥ 0.15.  相似文献
