Growth modes of Co thin films on the both N-saturated and partially N-adsorbed Cu(0 0 1) surfaces are studied in detail. From results of the STM and XPS measurements, segregation of N atoms depending on the Co island size is concluded. This new type of atom segregation is explained by means of a lattice strain of the substrate due to the small Co island formation. A novel core-level shift of N 1s during the Co film growth is also reported. A possible influence of the lattice strain to the electronic structure of the surfactant is discussed. 相似文献

This work presents the recoil and secondary implantation of radioisotopes at different bombarding energies in the range of ~?13 to ~?40 MeV by using an α-particle beam of 50 MeV irradiating a stack of Ag, Ni and Ti metal foils. Activation cross-sections for the produce radioisotopes were calculated and confronted with literature data. The implanted activity is presented as a function of the primary beam energy for six produced radioisotopes 57Ni, 57Co, 65Zn, 51Cr, 48V and 46Sc. The use of each of these radioisotopes in engineering experiments based on the nano-thin layer activation is discussed.

We have succeeded in trapping a high density of rare-earth atom of ytterbium (Yb) in a crossed far-off resonance trap. The peak density reaches more than 10(14) cm(-3). With a new method of a delayed crossed far-off resonance trap, we have elucidated that the atoms became concentrated into the cross region by atom-atom collisions. Thermal imprinting of transparent tin phosphate glass was performed at 250 degrees C using a fine-patterned silica mold. The glass sample was prepared by a conventional melt-quenching method and polished with a roughness of < or =10 nm for imprinting experiments. The imprinting temperature is optimized based on experimental viscosity data. Scanning electron microscope and atomic force microscope observations revealed that a square grid pattern has a surface roughness of < or =10 nm and 5 microm x 5 microm squares with ~1 microm intervals and 90-100 nm depth. Diffraction spots due to the micropattern are demonstrated by illuminating He-Ne laser light. 相似文献

We have reviewed our previous work regarding induction or control of a peptide helix sense through chiral stimulus to the peptide chain terminus. An optically inactive 3(10)-helix designed mainly with unusual alpha-amino acid residues was commonly employed. Such an N-terminal-free peptide generates a preferred helix sense by chiral acid molecule. A helix sense pre-directed in chiral sequence is also influenced or controlled by the chiral sign of such external molecule. Here free amide groups in the 3(10)-helical N-terminus participate in the formation of a multipoint coordinated complex. The terminal asymmetry produces the noncovalent chiral domino effect (NCDE) to influence the whole helix sense. The NCDE-mediated control of helicity provides the underlying chiral nature of protein-mimicking helical backbones: notably, chiral recognition at the terminus and modulation of helical propensity through chiral stimulus. The above items from our previous reports have been outlined and reviewed together with their significance in biopolymer science and chiral chemistry. 相似文献

It is well known that the numerical solution of stiff stochastic ordinary differential equations leads to a step size reduction when explicit methods are used. This has led to a plethora of implicit or semi-implicit methods with a wide variety of stability properties. However, for stiff stochastic problems in which the eigenvalues of a drift term lie near the negative real axis, such as those arising from stochastic partial differential equations, explicit methods with extended stability regions can be very effective. In the present paper our aim is to derive explicit Runge–Kutta schemes for non-commutative Stratonovich stochastic differential equations, which are of weak order two and which have large stability regions. In reduced recycling discharges in the Large Helical Device, a super dense core plasma develops when a series of pellets are injected. A core region with density as high as 4.5 x 10(20) m(-3) and temperature of 0.85 keV is maintained by an internal diffusion barrier with very high-density gradient. These results may extrapolate to a scenario for fusion ignition at very high density and relatively low temperature in helical devices. 相似文献

An electrode was modified with a phase transition polymer, poly(N-isopropylacrylamide), and the polymer was further modified with a peroxidase model compound, heme peptide (HP). As the polymer layer shrank at temperatures above 30-40 degrees C, the catalytic activity of the HP molecules for H(2)O(2) reduction improved, and simultaneously, the number of HP molecules that can communicate electrochemically with the electrode increased. As a result, the catalytic current for H(2)O(2) reduction in the shrunken state was 4 times larger than that in the swollen state. This reversible change was exploited for tuning the sensitivity and dynamic range of the HP electrode in H(2)O(2) biosensing. The dynamic range in inhibition-based biosensing of imidazole derivatives was also tunable. 相似文献
