Recombinant human serum albumin (rHSA) incorporating the iron(II) complex of the tetraphenylporphyrin derivative (FepivP or FecycP) is a synthetic O2‐carrying hemoprotein [albumin‐heme (rHSA‐FepivP or rHSA‐FecycP)], which acts as a red blood cell substitute. The association and dissociation behavior of FepivP and FecycP with rHSA has been initially investigated by isothermal titration calorimetry. A strong heat release appeared after the injection of albumin‐heme into a large molar excess of rHSA. This exothermic enthalpy change was due to the transference of hemes to the other free albumins. The difference in the heme binding affinity to rHSA can be manifested in the enthalpy term. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In developing a new method to measure the phase distribution of a light wave utilizing the adaptive control of the pupil function with a liquid crystal panel, the optimization procedure for the adaptive control is shown to improve when a local algorithm is adopted. LiFePO4 is an important cathode material for lithium‐ion batteries. Regardless of the biphasic reaction between the insulating end members, LixFePO4, x≈0 and x≈1, optimization of the nanostructured architecture has substantially improved the power density of positive LiFePO4 electrode. The charge transport that occurs in the interphase region across the biphasic boundary is the primary stage of solid‐state electrochemical reactions in which the Li concentrations and the valence state of Fe deviate significantly from the equilibrium end members. Complex interactions among Li ions and charges at the Fe sites have made understanding stability and transport properties of the intermediate domains difficult. Long‐range ordering at metastable intermediate eutectic composition of Li2/3FePO4 has now been discovered and its superstructure determined, which reflected predominant polaron crystallization at the Fe sites followed by Li+ redistribution to optimize the Li? Simultaneous manipulation of both spin and charge is a crucial issue in magnetic conductors. We report on a strong correlation between magnetism and conductivity in the iodine‐bonded molecular conductor (DIETSe)2FeBr2Cl2 [DIETSe=diiodo(ethylenedithio)tetraselenafulvalene], which is the first molecular conductor showing a large hysteresis in both magnetic moment and magnetoresistance associated with a spin‐flop transition. Utilizing a mixed‐anion approach and iodine bonding interactions, we tailored a molecular conductor with random exchange interactions exhibiting unforeseen physical properties.  相似文献

In this paper, we study generalized Euler numbers of the second kind and give several properties and applications.

Visual observations reveal a complicated flow in the liquid melt and a melting front configuration resulting from horizontal ice plate melting from above into a 20 wt% calcium chloride aqueous solution. The initial temperature of the ice plate and the mixture are both −5°C. Small scale “mountain and valley” structures (∼1 mm) appear on the flat melting front just after melting begins, which have been called “sharkskin”. Innumerable upward and downward flows appear near the sharkskin and are controlled by its “mountain and valley” structure. These typical flows will considerably promote the melting of the ice plate to be 30% larger as compared to the numerically predicted results assuming a flat melting front (i.e., without the sharkskin), and also by three times larger compared with the results for melting from below.  相似文献

Tutorial review: to achieve molecule-based spintronic devices, an organic conducting magnet that exhibits both conductivity and magnetism in a cooperative manner must be constructed. As a building block for such new materials, a spin-polarized donor radical, which serves as a molecular "spin-filter" in its singly oxidized state, was designed and synthesized. The resistivity of ion radical salts of selenium-substituted, tetrathiafulvalene-based spin-polarized donor radicals decreased substantially in the presence of a magnetic field, thus indicating cooperative conductivity and magnetism.  相似文献

Self-assembled structures of melamine and the condensed melamine derivative melem were investigated at aqueous solution-Au(111) interfaces by cyclic voltammetry and in situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) observation. The adsorption/desorption behaviors of both molecules on Au(111) surfaces could be controlled by varying the electrochemical potential and solution concentration. In the negative potential region, self-assembled structures of melem and melamine were constructed by double hydrogen bonding systems between nitrogen atoms of triazine rings and amine groups. In addition, melem formed a closely packed structure at potentials of between -0.3 and -0.15 V or in solutions at higher concentrations.  相似文献

Iron(III) spin-crossover compounds, [Fe(qnal)2]CF3SO3·MeOH (1·MeOH) and [Fe(qnal)2]CF3SO3·acetone (1·acetone) were prepared and their spin transition properties were characterized by magnetic susceptibility measurement, Mössbauer spectroscopy and single crystal analysis. Two iron(III) compounds exhibited abrupt spin transition with thermal hysteresis loop (T 1/2?? = 115 K and T 1/2?? = 104 K for 1·MeOH, and T 1/2?? = 133 K and T 1/2?? = 130 K for 1·acetone). Single crystal analysis revealed both of the structures in high-spin (HS) and low-spin (LS) states for 1·acetone. The difference of bond length between the HS and LS states for 1·acetone was ~0.10 Å, which was corresponding to that of typical iron(III) SCO compounds. Specially, it showed strong intermolecular interactions by ???C?? stacking formed between the neighbor complexes leading to 2-D sheet. Both 1·MeOH and 1·acetone exhibited LIESST effect when it was illuminated at 1000 nm. We also confirmed that the introduction of strong intermolecular interactions, such as ???C?? stacking, can play an important role in LIESST effect.  相似文献
