Structures of the covalent hydrates and products of acidic hydrolysis of rheumycin and fervenulin

It is shown that pyrimido[5,4-e]-1,2,4-triazinediones are hydrated at the N(₄)-C(_4a) bond in aqueous acidic media. The equilibrium constants of these processes were measured by PMR spectroscopy. The structure of the covalent adduct of fervenulin was established by x-ray diffraction analysis. Formic, 5-diazo-3-methylbarbituric, and methylparabanic acids were identified among the products of destruction of the hydrates in acidic media.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 12, pp. 1654–1660, December, 1988.     

Transformation of indole in soil

It was established that indole and 2-methylindole are converted in soil to stable compounds, which were isolated and identified by means of mass spectrometry (low-and high-resolution), IR, UV, and PMR spectroscopy, and by comparison with model samples. Under the influence of peroxide compounds in the soil, indole is converted to 2,2-di(3-indolyl)indoxyl and very small amounts of indoxylrot, indirubin, and indigo. Reactions with electron transfer to N-acylheteroaromatic cations

The behavior of some benzoquinolines and imidazoles in reactions with acylating agents in the presence of zinc dust was investigated. The possibility of free-radical hetarylation under these conditions of organic compounds by the intermediately formed N-acylheteroaromatic radicals was established. 2-Benzopyrylium salts. 34. Reactions of 3-carboxy-2-benzopyrylium salts with amines. Synthesis of cyclic ketols

3-Carboxy-2-benzopyrylium salts form 3-carboxyisoquinolinium salts, their decarboxylated analogs, or products of contraction of the heterocycle, namely, cyclic ketols, depending on the nature of the amine and solvent.
