A novel method for the preparation of transparent Al2O3 coatings of polymers is presented. An environmental‐friendly sol–gel method is employed, which implies mild conditions and low costs. A thermoresponsive brush is chosen as a model surface. X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy is used to characterize the samples during the conversion of the precursor Al(OH)3 into oxide and to prove the mildness of the protocol. The study evidences a relation between lateral homogeneity of alumina and the wettability of the polymer surface by the precursor solution, while morphology and elasticity are dominated by the polymer properties. The study of the swelling behavior of the underneath brush reveals the absence of water uptake, proving the impermeability of the alumina layer. The broad chemical and structural variety of polymers, combined with the robustness of transparent alumina films, makes these composites promising as biomedical implants, protective sheets and components for electric and optical devices.  相似文献

In the present paper, thermosensitive coatings are prepared by deposition of P(NIPAM-co-AAc) microgel particles on precoated silicon wafers. The effect of pH, substrate precoating, and preparation technique is studied. The pH value is found to significantly influence the adsorption density, while the substrate surface charge is less important. Hence, the electrostatic contribution of the particle-particle interaction seems to play a more pronounced role for the adsorption density than at least the electrostatic part of the particle-surface interaction. For the latter, also nonelectrostatic contributions like hydrogen bonding and surface roughness play an important role. Immersion of the prepared polyelectrolyte/microgel layers in buffers leads to a reorganization of the adsorbed particles at the surface.  相似文献

Combining theoretical and experimental techniques, we investigate the structure formation of charged colloidal suspensions of silica particles in bulk and in spatial confinement (slit-pore geometry). Our focus is to identify characteristic length scales determining typical quantities, such as the position of the main peak of the bulk structure factor and the period of the oscillatory force profile in the slitpore. We obtain these quantities from integral equations/SANS experiments (bulk) and Monte Carlo simulations/colloidal probe-AFM measurements (confinement), in which the theoretical calculations are based on the Derjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeck (DLVO) potential. Both in bulk and in the slitpore, we find excellent qualitative and quantitative agreement between theory and experiment as long as the ionic strength chosen in the DLVO potential is sufficiently low (implying a relatively long-ranged interaction). In particular, the bulk properties of these systems obey the widely accepted density scaling of xi proportional to phi(-1/3). On the other hand, systems with larger ionic strengths and, consequently, more short-ranged interactions do not obey such power law behavior and rather resemble an uncharged hard-sphere fluid, in which the relevant length scale is the particle diameter.  相似文献

Bacterial intraspecies and interspecies communication in the rhizosphere is mediated by diffusible signal molecules. Many Gram-negative bacteria use N-acyl-homoserine lactones (AHLs) as autoinducers in the quorum sensing response. While bacterial signalling is well described, the fate of AHLs in contact with plants is much less known. Thus, adsorption, uptake and translocation of N-hexanoyl- (C6-HSL), N-octanoyl- (C8-HSL) and N-decanoyl-homoserine lactone (C10-HSL) were studied in axenic systems with barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) and the legume yam bean (Pachyrhizus erosus (L.) Urban) as model plants using ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC), Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FTICR-MS) and tritium-labelled AHLs. Decreases in AHL concentration due to abiotic adsorption or degradation were tolerable under the experimental conditions. The presence of plants enhanced AHL decline in media depending on the compounds' lipophilicity, whereby the legume caused stronger AHL decrease than barley. All tested AHLs were traceable in root extracts of both plants. While all AHLs except C10-HSL were detectable in barley shoots, only C6-HSL was found in shoots of yam bean. Furthermore, tritium-labelled AHLs were used to determine short-term uptake kinetics. Chiral separation by GC-MS revealed that both plants discriminated D-AHL stereoisomers to different extents. These results indicate substantial differences in uptake and degradation of different AHLs in the plants tested.  相似文献

For stochastic implicit Taylor methods that use an iterative scheme to compute their numerical solution, stochastic B-series and corresponding growth functions are constructed. From these, convergence results based on the order of the underlying Taylor method, the choice of the iteration method, the predictor, and the number of iterations, for Itô and Stratonovich SDEs, and for weak as well as strong convergence are derived. As special case, also the application of Taylor methods to ODEs is considered. The theory is supported by numerical experiments.  相似文献

Abstract The effects of annealing on gold structures sputtered onto glass substrate were studied using AFM, UV-Vis methods and electrical measurements. The colour of the as-deposited films changes from blue to green with increasing deposition time. After 1 hour annealing at 300°C the structures acquire red colour regardless of the film thickness. The annealing results in dramatic changes of surface morphology and roughness and creation of relatively large “spherolytic and hummock-like” structures in the gold layer. For deposited structures a non-zero optical band gap EgoptE_{\mathrm{g}}^{\mathrm{opt}} was determined from UV-Vis spectra using Tauc’s model and it indicates a semi-conducting character of the structures. The annealing leads to an increase of the band gap. Electrical resistance of the deposited unannealed structures decreases dramatically for deposition times above 50 s. For annealed structures the resistance fall comes until after 250 s deposition time.  相似文献

Plasmons are resonant excitations in metallic films and nanoparticles. For small enough static distances of metal nanoparticles, additional plasmon-coupled modes appear as a collective excitation between the nanoparticles. Here we show, by combining poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) micro- and nanospheres and Au nanoparticles, how to design a system that allows controllably and reversibly switching on and off, and tuning the plasmon-coupled mode.  相似文献

The on time diagnostics of bacterial diseases is one of the essential steps in the foregoing treatment of such pathogens. Here we sought to present an easy to use and robust method for the discrimination between Gram-positive (Enterococcus faecalis and Streptococcus pyogenes) and Gram-negative (Acinetobacter baumannii and Klebsiella pneumoniae) bacterial genera based on surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy. The robustness of our approach lies in the novel method for the production of the SER substrate based on silver nanoparticles and their subsequent re-crystallization in solutions containing high concentrations of chloride ions. The method presented here could be an interesting alternative both to commonly used histochemical approaches and commercial SERS substrates.  相似文献
