Synthesis of biologically active compounds based on 2-ferrocenylmethylene-3-quinuclidone

Biologically active nitrogen heterocycles (1–7) containing ferrocene and quinuclidine fragments were synthesized. 3-Methylene-2-ferrocenylmethylenequinuiclidine forms adducts withN-phenylimides of azodicarboxylic (the structure was established by X-ray structural analysis) and malefic acids. 3-Methylene-2-fer-rocenylmethylenequinticlidine also undergoes [4+2]-cyclodimerization when heated and adds salts of the 3-methyl-2-ferrocenylmethyleneI-azoniabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-yl cation at the terminal methylene group to form a linear addition product.Instituto de Quimica, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), Circuito Exterior, Ciudad Universitaria, Coyoacan.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 11, pp 2743–2750, November, 1996.     

3-Ferrocenyl-1-methyl- and 1-ferrocenyl-3-methylcyclopropenes

Dehydrobromination of isomeric 3-bromo-1-ferrocenyl-2-methylcyclopropanes afforded 3-ferrocenyl-1-methyl- and 1-ferrocenyl-3-methylcyclopropenes. These undergo smooth opening of the three-membered ring to give 1- and 2-ferrocenylbuta-1,3-dienes and 1- and 2-methyl-1H-cyclopentaferrocenes; with 1,3-diphenylisobenzofuran they give the classical Diels-Alder adducts.     

Complexing sorbents based on dispersed minerals for recovery of heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions

We have obtained sorbents for recovery of heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions by modification of kaolinite and metakaolinite, aluminum oxyhydroxide and aluminum hydroxide by polyphosphates. Using sorption of Ni²⁺, Co²⁺ and Cr³⁺ as an example, we have shown that the sorbents have high sorption capacity and distribution coefficient with respect to heavy metal ions. We have studied the composition of the complexes formed. We have developed methods for granulation of the sorbents with a binder and for regeneration of the sorbents. A. V. Photochemical transformations of 3-alkyl-3-ferrocenylcyclopropenes

Photolysis of 3-ferrocenyl-3-methyl- and 3-ferrocenyl-3-isopropylcyclopropenes was studied. Sensitized irradiation (triplet excitation) afforded [2+2]-cycloaddition products, viz., tricyclohexane derivatives. Direct irradiation (singlet excitation) of methyl-substituted ferrocenylcyclopropene gave rise to 2-ferrocenylbut-1-en-3-yne and trans-2-ferrocenylbut-2-ene. The isopropyl analog was converted into 1-ferrocenyl-4,4-dimethylcyclobutene. The reaction of this cyclopropene with 2-ferrocenyl-3-methylbut-1-ene afforded 1,3-diferrocenyl-3-isopropyl-6,6-dimethylcyclohexene. The latter compound and 3,6-diferrocenyl-3,6-diisopropyltricyclo[3.1.0.0^2,4]hexane were studied by X-ray diffraction analysis. Possible reaction pathways are discussed.     

Ene Synthesis of Bicyclic Arylmethylenedihydropyrazoles Using 4-Phenyl-4,5-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3,5-dione

8-Acetyl-7-aryl-2-arylmethylene-8,9-diaza- and 4,8,9-triazabicyclo[4.3.0]non-9-enes react with4-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3,5-dione, following the ene addition pattern. Under similar conditons 7-aryl-2-arylmethylene-8-methyl-8,9-diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non-9-enes give rise to both mono- and polyadditionproducts. The product structures were studied by ¹H and ¹³C NMR, IR, and UV spectroscopy and singlecrystal X-ray diffraction.     

35Cl Nuclear quadrupole resonance spectra of some carboranecarboxylic chlorides

Conclusions A study was made of the³⁵Cl NQR spectra in the series of o-, m-, and p-carboranecarboxylic acids.
