Exfoliation of Coatings from Silicon Crystals Electroless-Plated with Nickel and Electroplated with Gold

The microhardness and content of carbon in electroplated gold coatings were studied as influenced by the operation time of citrate and citrate-phosphate gold-plating electrolytes. Such physicomechanical properties as porosity, microhardness, internal stress, plasticity, and microstructure of electroless-plated and electroplated nickel coatings were studied and analyzed.     

Boundary-value problem for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation

A mixed boundary-value problem for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation and its generalization is studied by the method used for the inverse scattering problem. A connection is established between conservation laws and boundary conditions in integrable boundary-value problems for higher nonlinear Schrödinger equations. It is shown that the generalized boundary-value problem requires a joint consideration of regular and singular solutions for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with repulsion.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. Transport as a consequence of state-dependent diffusion

Overdamped particles subject to a drift in a force field with sinusoidal space dependence and also a sinusoidally modulated space-dependent diffusion, with the same period as the drift, experience a net driving force. The resulting current depends on the amplitude of the modulation of the diffusion and is a periodic function of the phase difference between the sinusoidal drift and the sinusoidal modulation of the diffusion. For small modulation amplitudes a particle subject to state-dependent noise behaves the same way as a particle subject to thermal noise but with a drift which, in addition to the sinusoidal term, contains a net force term.Dedicated to Professor Harry Thomas on the occasion of his 60th birthday

Electrochemical Recovery of Silver from Lead Alloys in Chloride Melts

Electrochemical separation of lead-silver alloys into the constituents by thin-layer electrolysis in molten electrolytes, with bismuth as metal separator, is studied. It is proposed to determine the extent of component recovery by potentiometry.     

Continuum Limit of the Volterra Model, Separation of Variables and Non-Standard Realizations of the Virasoro Poisson Bracket

The classical Volterra model, equipped with the Faddeev-Takhtajan Poisson bracket provides a lattice version of the Virasoro algebra. The Volterra model being integrable, we can express the dynamical variables in terms of the so-called separated variables. Taking the continuum limit of these formulae, we obtain the Virasoro generators written as determinants of infinite matrices, the elements of which are constructed with a set of points lying on an infinite genus Riemann surface. The coordinates of these points are separated variables for an infinite set of Poisson commuting quantities including L ₀. The scaling limit of the eigenvector can also be calculated explicitly, so that the associated Schroedinger equation is in fact exactly solvable.     

Reaction of methyl bromopropiolate with diamines as a method of synthesis of imidazolidine derivatives
