On Some Extremal Varieties of Associative Algebras

Suppose that F is a field of prime characteristic p and V _p is the variety of associative algebras over F defined by the identities [[x, y], z] = 0 and x ^p = 0 if p > 2 and by the identities [[x, y], z] = 0 and x ⁴ = 0 if p = 2 (here [x, y] = xy ? yx). As is known, the free algebras of countable rank of the varieties V _p contain non-finitely generated T-spaces. We prove that the varieties V _p are minimal with respect to this property.

Reaction of O-ethyl-S-(β-alkylmercaptoethl)-cyclohexylthiophosphonates and their iodomethylates with choline sterases

Conclusions O-Ethyl-S-(-alkylmercaptoethyl)cyclohexylthiophosphonates are inhibitors of acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase with a combinative type of action. The iodomethylates of O-ethyl-S-(-alkylmercaptoethyl) cyclohexylthiophosphonates inhibit acetylcholinesterase irreversibly, and butyrylcholinesterase according to a combinative type of inhibition.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskayaj No. 7, pp. 1600–1606, July, 1977.

Mass spectrometry of the products of the mechanochemical degradation of amylose macromolecules

The destruction of amylose at high pressures (20 MPa) combined with shear deformations (540°) was studied. The destruction products were analyzed by mass spectrometry. The degradation of the polysaccharide caused by the extremal mechanical and mechanochemical treatment of amylose macromolecules was investigated. The formation of an appreciable amount of low-molecular oligomers was explained by the predominant cleavage of chains near the boundary zones of crystallites.
