Analysis of a discrete-time queueing system with time-limited service   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
We analyze a discrete-time, single-server queueing system in which the length of each service period is limited. The server takes a vacation when the limit expires or the queue empties, whichever occurs first. In the former case, the preempted service is resumed after the vacation without loss or creation of any work. This system models the transmission of message frames from a station on timed-token local-area networks (for example, FDDI and IEEE 802.4 token bus). We study the process of the unfinished work and the joint process of the queue size and the remaining service time. By using the technique of discrete Fourier transforms to determine some unknown functions in the governing equations, we numerically obtain exact mean waiting times.A part of the work of H. We analyze a holey fiber that consists of a circular distribution of air holes by the radial effective-index method. By this method, we show that the holey fiber is a leaky structure and its extended single-mode operation is governed by the differential leakage loss between the first two modes of the fiber. The effects of the hole size and the hole separation on the leakage losses of the first two modes are calculated. The leakage loss of the fundamental mode of the fiber is found to be comparable to that of a conventional holey fiber that has a hexagonal distribution of air holes.  相似文献

New norbornene derivatives synthesized from Pauson–Khand reaction products were homopolymerized and copolymerized with norbornene with an allyl–palladium complex as a catalyst. The ketone group was tolerated by the polymerization reaction. Monomers bearing protected alcohols were easily homopolymerized. Most of the homopolymers were soluble in tetrahydrofuran, CH2Cl2, toluene, and cyclohexane. As the steric bulkiness of the substituent increased, the chain length of the homopolymer decreased. Copolymers with a molecular weight of up to 153,800 were formed and were soluble in tetrahydrofuran, CH2Cl2, toluene, and diethyl ether. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The 13C NMR spectra of leonurine hydrochloride and thirteen of its analogues in DMSO-d6 have been analyzed. Changes in the aromatic substituents have no significant effect on the chemical shifts of the side chain methylene carbons indicating that they do not influence the conformation of the latter. Observed deviations from additivity of substituent effects for the methylene carbon chemical shifts suggest that the methylene side chains of these compounds may be more tightly coiled than are the corresponding n-alkanes. In representative cases no change in conformation is evident in 50% aqueous DMSO-d6 solutions, indicating that similar considerations may apply in aqueous media.  相似文献

The scenario of light gluinos and light sbottoms was advocated to explain the discrepancy between the measured and theoretical production of b quarks at the Tevatron. This scenario will have model-independent predictions for Z-->qqgg at the Z0 pole, and e(+)e(-)-->qqgg at LEPII. We show that the data for Z-->qqg*-->qqbb; at LEPI cannot constrain the scenario, because the ratio Gamma(Z-->qqgg)/Gamma(Z-->qqg*-->qqbb)=0.15-0.04 for m(g)=12-16 GeV is smaller than the uncertainty of the data. However, at LEPII the ratio sigma(e(+)e(-)-->qqgg)/sigma(e(+)e(-)-->qqg*-->qqbb) approximately 0.4-0.2 for m(g)=12-16 GeV, which may give an observable excess in qqbb events; especially, the 4b events.  相似文献

Two conjugated polymers based on poly(phenylenethiophene) and poly (fluorenethiophene) main chain functionalized with pendant trithiocyanato ruthenium terpyridine complexes were synthesized by the Suzuki coupling reaction. The ruthenium complexes can extend the absorption band to longer wavelength and enhance the photosensitivity in this region. The polymers exhibit very broad absorption band spanning from 400 to 750 nm due to the presence of π‐conjugated system and the ruthenium complexes. Such enhancement in optical absorption enables the utilization of solar light in the near IR region. By space charge limited current modeling, the hole carrier mobilities of the polymers were calculated to be in the order of 10?4 cm2 V?1 s?1, which greatly facilitate the transport of charges after the separation of excitons. Heterojunction photovoltaic cells with simple structure ITO/polymer/C60/Al were fabricated. Under simulated AM1.5 solar light illumination, the short circuit currents, open circuit voltages, and power conversion efficiencies of the photovoltaic cells were measured to be 1.53–2.58 mA cm?2, 0.12–0.24 V, and 0.084–0.12%, respectively. Deposition of PEDOT:PSS on ITO surface did not show significant difference in device performance. Plot of incident photon to charge efficiency as the function of wavelength suggests that absorption by both conjugated main chain and ruthenium complex are essential to the photocurrent generation. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Credit risk analysis is an active research area in financial risk management and credit scoring is one of the key analytical techniques in credit risk evaluation. In this study, a novel intelligent-agent-based fuzzy group decision making (GDM) model is proposed as an effective multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA) tool for credit risk evaluation. In this proposed model, some artificial intelligent techniques, which are used as intelligent agents, are first used to analyze and evaluate the risk levels of credit applicants over a set of pre-defined criteria. Then these evaluation results, generated by different intelligent agents, are fuzzified into some fuzzy opinions on credit risk level of applicants. Finally, these fuzzification opinions are aggregated into a group consensus and meantime the fuzzy aggregated consensus is defuzzified into a crisp aggregated value to support final decision for decision-makers of credit-granting institutions. For illustration and verification purposes, a simple numerical example and three real-world credit application approval datasets are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a new iterative scheme for finding a common element of the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem, the set of common fixed point for a family of infinitely nonexpansive mappings and the set of solutions of the variational inequality for αα-inverse-strongly monotone mappings in a Hilbert space. Under suitable conditions, some strong convergence theorems for approximating a common element of the above three sets are obtained. As applications, at the end of the paper we utilize our results to study the optimization problem and some convergence problem for strictly pseudocontractive mappings.
