Based upon the observations (i) that their in-plane lattice constants match almost perfectly and (ii) that their electronic structures overlap in reciprocal space for one spin direction only, we predict perfect spin filtering for interfaces between graphite and (111) fcc or (0001) hcp Ni or Co. The spin filtering is quite insensitive to roughness and disorder. The formation of a chemical bond between graphite and the open d-shell transition metals that might complicate or even prevent spin injection into a single graphene sheet can be simply prevented by dusting Ni or Co with one or a few monolayers of Cu while still preserving the ideal spin-injection property. 相似文献

Carbon nitride coatings are synthesized in the new laser plasma of powerful optical pulsating discharge using acetonitrile as a precursor. A high-pressure and -temperature C3N4 cubic phase with a spinel structure type is obtained. The microhardness of coatings of this structure type is ~45 gPa. The structure of a new potassium-rich representative of the eudialyte group described by the idealized formula Na27K8Ca12Fe3Zr6[Si52O144](O,OH,H2O)6Cl2 was established by the methods of the X-ray diffraction analysis (R = 0.045, 3900 reflections). The unit-cell parameters are a = 14.249(1) Å, c = 60.969(7) Å, V = 10 720.3 Å3, sp. gr. R3m. The concept of plasma separation of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste is presented. An approach that is based on using an accelerating potential to overcome the energy and angular spread of plasma ions at the separation region inlet and utilizing a potential well to separate spatially the ions of different masses is proposed. It is demonstrated that such separation may be performed at distances of about 1 m with electrical potentials of about 1 kV and a magnetic field of about 1 kG. The estimates of energy consumption and performance of the plasma separation method are presented. These estimates illustrate its potential for technological application. The mineral is described by the simplified formula (H3O)9Na2(K, Ba,Sr)2Ca6Zr3[Si26O66(OH)6](OH)3Cl · H2O (Z = 3). The unit-cell parameters are a = 14.078(3) Å, c = 31.24(1) Å; V = 5362 Å3; sp. gr. R3. Being chemically and structurally related to the hydrated analogues studied previously (in particular, to potassium oxonium eudialyte), the new mineral differs from its analogues in that it has a higher degree of Na-and Fe-cation depletion. The results of an investigation of the flow past and the behavior of free bluff bodies mounted in pipes and channels with a narrow clearance, conducted in the Institute of Mechanics of Moscow State University, are presented. The drag of circular cylinders of different size and mass in a circulation-free water flow in a plane channel of rectangular cross-section was studied in the transverse self-oscillation regime. The experiments were conducted for Reynolds numbers based on the cylinder diameter 1.7 ? 104 ≤ Re ≤ 7.2 ? 104, relative clearances \(\bar S\) based on a cross-sectional area ranging from 0.76 to 0.9, and cylinder-to-water density ratios ρ c /ρ ranging from 1.29 to 8.2. Only the case of intense transverse self-oscillations accompanied by impact interaction with the channel wall was considered. The dependence of the period-average cylinder drag coefficient C x on the basic dimensionless relevant parameters is obtained. The dependence of the dimensionless self-oscillation frequency determined in [1] is refined. The kinematic and dynamic features of the flows past spheres in cylindrical pipes and cylinders in plane channels are compared in the transverse self-oscillation regime. 相似文献
