Photonic Crystal spatial filters, apart from stand‐alone spatial filtering function, can also suppress multi‐transverse‐mode operation in laser resonators. Here it is shown that such photonic crystals can be designed by solving the inverse problem: for a given spatial filtering profile. Optimized Photonic Crystal filters were fabricated in photosensitive glass. Experiments have shown that such filters provide a more pronounced filtering effect for total and partial transmissivity conditions.  相似文献

Using a simple ion source set-up, laser desorption/ionization on silicon (DIOS) was demonstrated with the use of a custom-made drift tube ion mobility spectrometer (IMS), mounted on a commercial triple quadrupole mass spectrometer, and with an IMS equipped with a Faraday plate detector. DIOS was tested by mobility measurement of tetrapropylammonium iodide, tetrabutylammonium iodide and tetrapentylammonium iodide, whilst 2,6-di-tert- butylpyridine was used as a standard. The reduced mobilities measured for the test halides are in concordance with previously obtained ion mobility spectrometry-mass spectrometry data.  相似文献

We propose and numerically demonstrate the feasibility of spatial filtering, i.e. a selective removal of the high spatial frequency components, of narrow acoustic beams during their propagation along a two-dimensional sonic crystal. The filtering effect occurs due to two different mechanisms, depending on the particular form of the dispersion surfaces of the propagation modes in sonic crystal. Reflection or deflection of undesired spatial frequency components occurs for these two mechanisms. It is shown that, as a consequence of spatial filtering, the angular spectrum of the beams is narrowed, and the noisy beams are efficiently cleaned.  相似文献

Continuous pole placement method is adapted to time-periodic states of systems with timedelay. The method is applied for finding an optimal control matrix in the problem ofstabilization of unstable periodic orbits of dynamical systems via time-delayed feedbackcontrol algorithm. The optimal control matrix ensures the fastest approach of a perturbedsystem to the stabilized orbit. An application of the pole placement method to systemswith time delay meets a fundamental problem, since the number of the Floquet exponents isinfinity, while the number of control parameters is finite. Nevertheless, we show thatseveral leading Floquet exponents can be efficiently controlled. The method is numericallydemonstrated for the Lorenz system, which until recently has been considered as a systeminaccessible for the standard time-delayed feedback control due to the odd-numberlimitation. The proposed optimization method is also adapted for an extended time-delayedfeedback control algorithm and numerically demonstrated for the Rössler system.  相似文献

We demonstrate by electronic circuit experiments the feasibility of an unstable control loop to stabilize torsion-free orbits by time-delayed feedback control. Corresponding analytical normal form calculations and numerical simulations reveal a severe dependence of the basin of attraction on the particular coupling scheme of the control force. Such theoretical predictions are confirmed by the experiments and emphasize the importance of the coupling scheme for the global control performance.  相似文献

In this work the role of higher molecular aggregation in the proton transfer processes within hydrogen bond (H-bond) is investigated. The H-bonded complex consisting of 4-cyanopyridine (CyPy) with trichloroacetic acid (TCA) has been studied in the solutions of acetonitrile, carbon tetrachloride, chloroform and dichloroethane as solvent by FTIR spectroscopy and quantum chemical DFT calculations. In order to illustrate the effect of increasing H-bond strength FTIR investigations have also been performed on solutions of CyPy with H(2)O, acetic-, trifluoroacetic- and methanesulfonic acids. Proton states in the H-bond have been monitored using vibrational CyPy ring modes in FTIR spectra. The stabilization of the CyPy/TCA complex in its protonated form upon increasing polarity of the solvent has been evidenced. It was shown that formation of the CyPy/(TCA)(2) aggregates in the solutions favors the proton transfer process. An X-ray diffraction study has been performed on a single 1 : 2 co-crystal of pyridine/3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid. The H-bond motif found in this system exhibits the same connectivity by strong hydrogen bonds N-H(+)[dot dot dot]O(-) and O-H[dot dot dot]O as that in the CyPy/(TCA)(2) complex predicted by DFT calculation. Certain discrepancies are observed in C-H[dot dot dot]O connectivity only. The networks of H-bonds in both assemblies differ from those usually pictured for 1 : 2 base/carboxylic acid complexes in the literature.  相似文献

Herein, we explore the use of spin-spin coupling constants (SSCCs) in merocyanine (MCYNE) dyes as indicators of polarity. For this purpose, we use Car-Parrinello hybrid quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) to determine the structures of MCYNE in solvents of different polarity, followed by computations of the SSCCs by using QM/MM linear-response theory. The molecular geometry of MCYNE switches between neutral, cyanine-like, and zwitterionic depending on the polarity of the solvent. This structural variation is clearly reflected in the proton SSCCs in the polymethine backbone, which are highly sensitive to the dielectric nature of the environment; this mechanism can be used as a "polarity indicator" for different microenvironments. This result is highlighted by computing the SSCCs of the MCYNE probe in the cavity of the beta-lactoglobulin protein. The computed SSCCs clearly indicate a non-polar hydrophobic dielectric nature of this cavity.  相似文献

Recently an act-and-wait modification of time-delayed feedback control has been proposed for the stabilization of unstable periodic orbits in nonautonomous dynamical systems (Pyragas and Pyragas, 2016 [30]). The modification implies a periodic switching of the feedback gain and makes the closed-loop system finite-dimensional. Here we extend this modification to autonomous systems. In order to keep constant the phase difference between the controlled orbit and the act-and-wait switching function an additional small-amplitude periodic perturbation is introduced. The algorithm can stabilize periodic orbits with an odd number of real unstable Floquet exponents using a simple single-input single-output constraint control.  相似文献

Moderately narrow 1H NMR signals were observed in the solid-phase obtained from pyridine-N-oxide (PyO)...HCl solutions in acetonitrile/H2O after heterogeneous phase separation. High-resolution 1H NMR spectra are compared with those of crystalline PyO...HCl and PyO...DCl. It is concluded that partially resolved peaks in 1H NMR spectra of solids are related with heterogeneity of the spin system and the presence of different mobile H-bond clusters containing PyO, HCl, DCl and water molecules. Some part of non-bonded water or HCl molecules is captured in the cavities of crystalline samples. The attribution of the 1H NMR signals was based on the density functional theory calculation of proton magnetic screening tensor of the most expected H-bond structures in the 6-311G** basis taking into account the solvent effect by the polarized continuum model.  相似文献

We study, both experimentally and theoretically, the process of second-harmonic generation by two noncollinear beams in ferroelectric crystals with a disordered distribution of ferroelectric domains. We show that this parametric process results in generation of second-harmonic wave in the direction transverse to the propagation of the fundamental beam. We demonstrate how this effect can be used for the femtosecond pulse characterization enabling the estimation of both width and chirp of the pulse.  相似文献
