A light-producing reaction utilizing three enzymes, bacterial luciferase, dehydrogenase and diaphorase, can be used to determine formic acid in natural waters at nanomolar concentrations. The method is rapid and convenient, requiring no preconcentration, desalting or derivatization procedures. Determinations can be done on small sample volumes (25 μl) at room temperature and pH 7. The precision (relative standard deviation for sea water samples containing 1.0 μM formate was 9.0% (n = 15). The reaction is specific for formate with a detection limit of 20 nM (signal-to-noise ratio = 3). Results for applications of the method to sea, estuarine and rain water are given. 相似文献

A selective Spectrophotometric method has been developed for the trace determination of copper after adsorption of its 1-phenyl-4,4,6-trimethyl(1H, 4H)-pyrimidine-2-thiol (PTPT) complex onto microcrystalline naphthalene. The complex is quantitatively adsorbed on naphthalene in the pH range 7.5–11.5, separated by filtration, dissolved in dimethylformamide (DMF) and determined spectrophotometrically at 400 nm. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range 2.5–37.5 g of copper in 10 ml of DMF. The molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity are 1.30 × 1041 · mol–1 · cm–1 and 0.0048g cm–2, respectively. Ten replicate analyses of a solution containing 20.0 g of copper gave a mean absorbance of 0.410 with a relative standard deviation of 0.91 %. The metal-organic framework [Co(INA)(2)]x0.5EtOH (INA = isonicotinate, NC(5)H(4)-4-CO(2)(-)), was synthesised under solvothermal conditions. Its X-ray crystal structure shows channels containing ethanol guests which are hydrogen-bonded to carboxylate oxygens of the framework. The pyridyl rings of the framework alternate between 'open' and 'closed' positions along the channels resulting in large variation in the channel cross-sectional area from ca. 1.4 by 2.3 A at the narrowest point to 4.9 by 5.3 A at the widest. Despite the very small windows, the ethanol guests (of van der Waals diameter ca. 4.2-6.1 A) may be reversibly desorbed and sorbed into the structure quantitatively, as shown by in situ variable-temperture IR spectroscopy and XRPD. The single-crystal structure of the desolvated form [Co(INA)(2)] shows that there is no change in the overall connectivity on desolvation, but the rotational positions of the pyridine rings are altered. This suggests that pyridyl rotation may occur to allow guests to pass in and out. When the synthesis was conducted in 1-propanol solvent [Co(INA)(2)]x0.5Pr(n)OHxH(2)O, was obtained, and a single-crystal X-ray structure revealed the same overall connectivity as in but with pyridine rings disordered over closed and open positions. There was no evidence of included guests from X-ray crystallography, suggesting that they are also highly disordered. Variable-temperature XRPD performed on bulk samples showed peaks which were unsymmetrical and exhibited shoulders, suggesting that for each pattern obtained the material actually consisted of several closely-related phases. The movements of the peaks during desolvation showed the presence of intermediate phases before the final desolvated product was formed. The peak positions of the intermediate phases matched more closely with the calculated pattern for than with or, suggesting that they may have disordered structures similar to. The results also suggest that the intermediate phase represents an initial increase in volume before a larger decrease in volume occurs to give the final desolvated material. 相似文献

The results detail a novel methodology for the electrochemical determination of ammonia based on its interaction with hydroquinone in DMF. It has been shown that ammonia reversibly removes protons from the hydroquinone molecules, thus facilitating the oxidative process with the emergence of a new wave at less positive potentials. The analytical utility of the proposed methodology has been examined with a linear range from 10 to 95 ppm and corresponding limit-of-detection of 4.2 ppm achievable. Finally, the response of hydroquinone in the presence of ammonia has been examined in the room temperature ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluormethylsulfonyl)imide, [EMIM][N(Tf)2]. Analogous voltammetric waveshapes to that observed in DMF were obtained, thereby confirming the viability of the method in either DMF or [EMIM][N(Tf)2] as solvent. 相似文献

Addition of a benzyl substituent to the macrocyclic ring of DOTA has a substantial impact on the conformational ring flipping motion of the macrocycle in the resulting LnDOTA complexes. The p-NO2-benzyl substituent in the Ln(p-NO2-Bn-DOTA)- complexes lies in an equatorial position and effectively "locks" the conformation of the ring into the deltadeltadeltadelta configuration. The presence of the p-NO2-benzyl group also increases the population of the square antiprismatic (SAP) coordination isomer for all Ln(p-NO2-Bn-DOTA)- complexes relative to that seen for the respective LnDOTA- complexes. Despite this increase in SAP isomer population, the rate of water exchange in these complexes remains comparatively fast. The kinetic and thermodynamic stabilities of the Ln(p-NO2-Bn-DOTA)- complexes are also slightly lower than the corresponding LnDOTA- complexes but appear to be sufficiently high for in vivo use. 相似文献
