The crystallization of calcium carbonate was carried out by mixing CaCl(2) and Na(2)CO(3) solutions. The morphology of precursor formed prior to the nucleation of the polymorphous crystals (calcite and vaterite) varies depending on the feed concentration. The faster nucleation rate of polymorphous crystals in 0.2 mol/L than in 0.05 mol/L solution results in the prompt disappearance of the precursor at 0.2 mol/L. In 0.05 mol/L solutions the lifetime of the precursor is relatively long. The crystallization fraction of vaterite increases with the feed concentration and decreases with the addition rate of Na(2)CO(2) solution. Vaterite takes on the various morphologies of the aggregates of the primary flocculation body (spherulite) depending on the crystallization conditions. Vaterite transforms to calcite by a direct solution-mediated mechanism. During crystallization the concentration attains a stationary value, which increases with the feed concentration and decreases with the addition rate of Na(2)CO(2) solution. This may be due to the crystal size decrease expected from the Gibbs-Kelvin equation. Magnesium ion suppresses the transformation of vaterite by inhibiting the growth of the calcite. Magnesium ion is selectively included in calcite and causes the increase of the attained concentration and the remarkable change in the morphology of calcite especially in 0.05 mol/L solution. Quantum yields, lifetimes and shapes of fluorescence from polymers containing the trans-1,2-dicarbazolylcyclobutane (DCZB) or carbazolyl structures were studied in N,N-dimethylformamide. No sandwich-type excimer formation was observed for DCZB polymers. The so-called second excimer observed in poly(9-vinylcarbazole) might also be produced in poly(9-ethyl-3-vinylcarbazole).  相似文献

In this paper we have studied a non-planar thin liquid film flow on a planar stretching surface. The stretching surface is assumed to stretch impulsively from rest and the effect of inertia of the liquid is considered. Equations describing the laminar flow on the stretching surface are solved analytically. It is observed that faster stretching causes quicker thinning of the film on the stretching surface. Angular and spatial profiles of undulator radiation have been investigated to derive a universal function that evaluates the brilliance of undulator radiation and takes into account the effects of electron beam emittance and energy spread. It has been found that the effects of energy spread on the angular divergence and source size can be expressed by simple analytic expressions, and a universal brilliance function has been derived by convolution with the electron beam distribution functions. The pH dependencies of electrochemomechanical deformation (ECMD) including the cyclic voltammetry and the expansion ratio in conducting polymers, polyaniline (PANI), and poly(o-methoxyaniline) film were studied to elucidate the mechanisms. It was found that the ECMD is governed by the conformational change of polymer structure as well as the insertion of bulky ions in the manner of comparable magnitude. Expansion ratios >20% in the ECMD were demonstrated for the thickness direction of PANI film. The results suggest that the magnitude of ECMD can be improved by choosing the preparation method of films.  相似文献

(S)-Hexakis(4-(4'-(6-methyl)octyloxy)biphenoxy)cyclotriphosphazene (SMOCP) was synthesized in a search for new ferroelectric liquid crystalline compounds. We found an enantiotropic ferroelectric smectic C* phase between 419 and 441 K in SMOCP by using polarizing microscopy and DSC measurements. The spontaneous polarization was estimated to be -130.5 μCm-2 at 437.6 K, several times larger than that of DOBAMBC ((S)-2-methylbutyl 4-(4'-decyloxybenzylidene)aminocinnamate.  相似文献
