A semibiological molecular machine with an implemented "AND" logic gate was developed, which was capable of controlling the folding process of proteins in response to ATP and light as input stimuli. The molecular design made use of a genetically engineered chaperonin GroEL bearing, at both entrance parts of its cylindrical cavity, cysteine residues, which were functionalized by an azobenzene derivative to construct photoresponsive mechanical gates (azo-GroEL). This engineered chaperonin trapped denatured green fluorescent protein (GFP(denat)) and prohibited its refolding. However, when hosting azo-GroEL detected ATP (input stimulus 1) and UV light (input stimulus 2) at the same time, it quickly released GFP(denat) to allow its refolding. In contrast, reception of either input stimulus 1 or 2 resulted in only very slow or no substantial refolding of GFP(denat). Implementation of such "AND" logic gate mechanisms in mechanically driven biomolecular systems is an important step toward the design of secured drug delivery systems. 相似文献

β-FeSi2 bulk crystals were grown by a molten salt method with Cu or Co addition. The effect of the Cu or Co addition on the structural, electrical and thermoelectric properties was investigated. A p-type semiconducting β-FeSi2 crystal was obtained without any impurity addition. On the other hand, n-type β-FeSi2 crystals were obtained by Co doping with 1.5–4 mol% addition. For the Cu addition, β-FeSi2 crystals with large diameter columnar domains were obtained, and an increased β-phase formation was observed. In addition, a slight decrease in the carrier density and a slight increase in the Hall mobility were observed, probably due to the elimination of crystalline defects. The structural and electrical modifications of the β-FeSi2 crystals by the impurity addition is discussed. 相似文献

Effects of deposition conditions on the structure of microcrystalline silicon carbide (μc-SiC) films prepared by hot-wire chemical vapor deposition (hot-wire CVD) method have been investigated. It is found from X-ray diffraction patterns of the film that a diffraction peak from crystallites from hexagonal polytypes of SiC is observed in addition to those of 3 C-SiC crystallites. This result is obtained in the film under a narrow deposition conditions of SiH3CH3 gas pressure of 8 Pa, the H2 gas pressure of 80–300 Pa and the total gas pressure of 40–300 Pa under fixed substrate and filament temperatures employed in this study. Furthermore, the grain size of hexagonal crystallites (about 20 nm) on c-Si substrates becomes larger than that of 3 C-SiC crystallites (about 10 nm) for the films deposited under the total gas pressure of 36–88 Pa. The fact that microcrystalline hexagonal SiC can be deposited under limited deposition conditions could be interpreted in the context of a result for c-SiC polytypes prepared by thermal CVD method. 相似文献

A highly active catalyst for the skeletal isomerization of butane to isobutane was obtained by mechanically mixing SO4/ZrO2 and Ru/SnO2; Ru/SO2 was prepared by impregnating tin hydroxide with a solution of RuCl3 followed by calcining at 450°C (0.5 wt.% Ru). The catalyst was much more active than Ru-SO4/ZrO2 prepared by co-impregnation of zirconia with the Ru and sulfate materials the temperature difference to show the same conversion between both catalysts being 57°C. The effect of mixing of Ru was observed with other metal oxides as supports, Fe2O3, Al2O3, ZrO2, TiO2, and SiO2; the calcination temperature of the Ru-impregnated hydroxides was 250, 300, and 400°C for the latter three, respectively. 相似文献

The lanthanum and cerium derivatives are active catalysts for the hydrosilylation of benzophenone derivatives with HN(SiHMe2)2. We investigate the morphology of microphase separated domains in diblock copolymers where each chain consists of a stiff rod block and a flexible coil block. A simplified phenomenological model system is introduced, which is coarse-grained in terms of the local concentration difference between the two blocks and the local director field of the rod part. Computer simulations of this set of time-evolution equations in two dimensions show in the weak segregation regime that the elastic energy in the rod-block rich domains affects drastically the structures of microphase separated domains. A coil-to-rod transition is incorporated into the model system to examine the elastic and anisotropic effects. The effects of the external electric field are also investigated to control the domain morphology. 相似文献
