The electrical conductivity of the LaY1−xInxO3 (x=0.0–0.7) system has been studied from the viewpoint of crystal chemistry. The high temperature form of LaYO3 (x=0.0) was ascertained to be the Sm2O3-type (B-type rare earth) structure, not perovskite-type one. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) experiments revealed that the samples with x=0.05 and 0.10 were the mixed phase of Sm2O3-type and perovskite-type structure, and changed to perovskite phase in the range of x0.20. From oxygen partial pressure dependence of the electrical conductivity, it was found that both the Sm2O3-type and the perovskite-type single phases showed hole conduction, but the mixed phase did oxide-ion one. The electrical conductivity of the LaY1−xInxO3 (x=0.0–0.7) system increased with increasing x, and showed the maximum value in the range of x=0.05–0.10, and then decreased with increasing x. The occurrence of oxide-ion conduction was discussed from the viewpoint of lattice distortion in the mixed phase. 相似文献

Traffic-like collective movements are observed at almost all levels of biological systems. Molecular motor proteins like, for example, kinesin and dynein, which are the vehicles of almost all intra-cellular transport in eukaryotic cells, sometimes encounter traffic jam that manifests as a disease of the organism. Similarly, traffic jam of collagenase MMP-1, which moves on the collagen fibrils of the extracellular matrix of vertebrates, has also been observed in recent experiments. Novel efforts have been made to utilize some uni-cellular organisms as “micro-transporters”. Traffic-like movements of social insects like ants and termites on trails are, perhaps, more familiar in our everyday life. Experimental, theoretical and computational investigations in the last few years have led to a deeper understanding of the generic or common physical principles involved in these phenomena. In this review we critically examine the current status of our understanding, expose the limitations of the existing methods, mention open challenging questions and speculate on the possible future directions of research in this interdisciplinary area where physics meets not only chemistry and biology but also (nano-)technology. 相似文献

In an aim to create a "sharp" molecular knife, we have studied site-specific fragmentation caused by Si:2p core photoionization of bridged trihalosilyltrimethylsilyl molecules in the vapor phase. Highly site-specific bond dissociation has been found to occur around the core-ionized Si site in some of the molecules studied. The site specificity in fragmentation and the 2p binding energy difference between the two Si sites depend in similar ways on the intersite bridge and the electronegativities of the included halogen atoms. The present experimental and computational results show that for efficient "cutting" the following conditions for the two atomic sites to be separated by the knife should be satisfied. First, the sites should be located far from each other and connected by a chain of saturated bonds so that intersite electron migration can be reduced. Freeze-drying (FD) is a useful technique for removing water from biological tissues, such as food samples. Cellular components freeze at once, and the ice sublimates under conditions of high vacuum and low temperatures. Because biological activity is restricted during FD, the degradation of cellular metabolites is often believed to be limited. However, the cellular structure is damaged by several factors, such as the increase in cell volume during freezing, and this has serious effects on the levels of some cellular metabolites. We studied these effects of FD on metabolite levels when using it as a sample preparation step in metabolome analysis. We observed significant decreases in the levels of some metabolites, such as succinate and choline, in Arabidopsis and pear, respectively. We also found that the effects of FD on certain metabolite levels differed between Arabidopsis plants and pear fruits. These results suggest that it is necessary to confirm the metabolite recovery in each sample species when FD is used for sample preparation. 相似文献

A series of 1,3-benzoxazole-4-carbonitriles was synthesized and evaluated for its antifungal activity, solubility, and metabolic stability. Among those compounds, 4-cyano-N,N,5-trimethyl-7-[(3S)-3-methyl-3-(methylamino)pyrrolidin-1-yl]-6-phenyl-1,3-benzoxazole-2-carboxamide (16b) exhibited potent in vitro activity against Candida species, higher water solubility, and improved metabolic stability compared to lead compound 1. Constant load tests of circumferentially notched round bar specimens of high strength steels after cyclic corrosion test and outdoor exposure have been performed to demonstrate that delayed fracture occurs when the hydrogen content from the environment, HE, exceeds the critical hydrogen content for delayed fracture, HC. During the constant load tests the humidity around the specimen was increased in stepwise manner to increase hydrogen entry. After fracture the specimen was kept at the humidity long enough to homogenize hydrogen in the specimen and to obtain more quantitative hydrogen content by thermal desorption analysis. HE of the fractured specimens was higher than HC, and HE of the specimens not fractured was lower than HC. This result confirms that the balance between HC and HE determines the occurrence of delayed fracture and that hydrogen-content-based evaluation of susceptibility to delayed fracture is reasonable. To certify the increase of HE with increase in humidity, electrochemical hydrogen permeation test was carried out. The hydrogen permeation current density was increased especially at 98%RH. Enhancement of hydrogen entry with increase in CCT number was also shown by the test. 相似文献

A series of cyclohumulanoids, i.e., tricocerapicanols A–C (1a–1c), tricoprotoilludenes A (2a) and B (3), tricosterpurol (4), and tricoilludins A–C (5–7) were isolated along with known violascensol (2b) and omphadiol (8) from the culture broth of Daedaleopsis tricolor, an inedible but not toxic mushroom. The structures were fully elucidated on the basis of NMR spectroscopic analysis, and the suggested relative structures were confirmed via density functional theory (DFT)-based chemical shift calculations involving a DP4 probability analysis. In the present study, the 1H chemical shifts were more informative than the 13C chemical shifts to distinguish the diastereomers at C-11. The absolute configurations of 1–5 were determined by comparing the experimental and calculated electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectra. For 6 and 7, the same chirality was assigned according to their biosynthetic similarities with the other compounds. The successful assignment of some Cotton effects was achieved by utilizing DFT calculations using simple model compounds. The plausible biosynthesis of 1–7 was also discussed on the basis of the structural commonality and general cyclohumulanoid biosynthesis. Compounds 2a and 5 were found to simultaneously induce hyphal swelling and branching at 5.0 μg/mL against a test fungus Cochliobolus miyabeanus. 相似文献

Let ${\mathcal{F}}$ be a family of connected graphs. A graph G is said to be ${\mathcal{F}}$ -free if G is H-free for every graph H in ${\mathcal{F}}$ . We study the problem of characterizing the families of graphs ${\mathcal{F}}$ such that every large enough connected ${\mathcal{F}}$ -free graph of even order has a perfect matching. This problems was previously studied in Plummer and Saito (J Graph Theory 50(1):1–12, 2005), Fujita et al. (J Combin Theory Ser B 96(3):315–324, 2006) and Ota et al. (J Graph Theory, 67(3):250–259, 2011), where the authors were able to characterize such graph families ${\mathcal{F}}$ restricted to the cases ${|\mathcal{F}|\leq 1, |\mathcal{F}| \leq 2}$ and ${|\mathcal{F}| \leq 3}$ , respectively. In this paper, we complete the characterization of all the families that satisfy the above mentioned property. Additionally, we show the families that one gets when adding the condition ${|\mathcal{F}| \leq k}$ for some k ≥ 4. 相似文献
