Incubation of animal cells in the presence of amphiphilic glycosides having a lactoside residue (hydrophilic moiety) and various kinds of perfluoroalkyl chain (hydrophobic moiety) resulted to glycosylation of the saccharide chain by cellular enzymes and afforded glycolipid-like compounds. The amounts of amphiphilic glycoside and glycolipid-like compounds found in the cell and culture medium fractions, respectively, varied depending on the fluorine content of the perfluoroalkyl chain. To investigate further, the hydrophobicity of the perfluoroalkyl chain was estimated from the critical micelle concentration values and was found to be 1.5 times larger in hydrophobicity than the hydrocarbon chain [CF2 = 1.5CH2]. Liposomes resembling cells in size were also prepared and the amphiphilic glycosides were introduced. Results showed a positive correlation between hydrophobicity and localization of amphiphilic glycoside into liposomes. The amount of amphiphilic glycosides localized in liposomes increased with increasing hydrophobicity that is attributed mainly to the fluorine content of the aglycon. In spite of the low affinity of fluorous chain for hydrocarbon chain, the amphiphilic fluorous compounds showed high affinity for cell membrane that is composed of amphiphilic phospholipids.  相似文献

Measures of vocal function during changes in vocal effort level   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
The purpose of this article is to present the results of a controlled study of the day-to-day variabilities of three acoustic parameters (jitter, shimmer, and normalized noise energy), and two electroglottographic parameters (contact quotient and contact quotient perturbation) for vowels produced at three vocal efforts (low, normal, high). Data were obtained with use of a sophisticated bilinear interpolation pitch detection method. A repeated measures design required subjects to produce the vowels // and /a/ five times a day over 3 days at each vocal effort level. The jitter, shimmer, and normalized noise energy values from acoustic measures and contact quotient and contact quotient perturbation values varied significantly among the three vocal effort levels. The clinical implication of this finding is that vocal effort must be controlled in order to obtain consistent clinical measures. Furthermore, day-to-day variability must be taken into account if representative measures are to be obtained for clinical use.  相似文献

Poly[(R)-3-hydroxybutyrate-co-4-hydroxybutyrate] (P(3HB-co-4HB)) films were prepared by uniaxial cold-drawing from an amorphous preform at a temperature below, but close to the glass transition temperature. Molecular and highly-ordered structures and physical properties of cold-drawn films were investigated by tensile testing, wide-angle X-ray diffraction and small-angle X-ray scattering. Enzymatic degradation of P(3HB-co-4HB) films was performed using an extracellular polyhydroxybutyrate depolymerase purified from Ralstonia pickettii T1. Tensile strength, elongation to break and Young’s modulus of P(3HB-co-4HB) with cold-drawn ratio 1200% reached 290 MPa, 58% and 2.8 GPa, respectively. X-ray fibre diagrams of cold-drawn P(3HB-co-4HB) films showed a strong reflection on the equatorial line, indicating a planar zigzag conformation (β-form) together with 21 helix conformation (α-form). The β-form seems to contribute to the high tensile strength, and a new mechanism of generation of the β-form is proposed. The enzymatic degradation rate increased with increasing draw ratio, and increased greatly with increasing 4HB content.  相似文献

PurposeTo determine the clinical value of routine use of thin-section 3D MRI using 3D FSE sequences with a variable flip angle technique for internal derangements of the knee joint at 3 T.Method and MaterialsThirty-four knees in 34 patients suspected of having internal derangements of the knee joint were included. Following standard 2D MRI protocol including sagittal PDWI, T1WI and T2*WI, coronal fat-suppressed PDWI, and axial fat-suppressed PDWI with 3-4 mm thicknesses, fat-suppressed and water-excitation PDWI using 3D FSE sequences with a variable flip angle technique with 0.6 mm thickness were obtained in coronal plane and the three major planes with 1 mm thickness (3D MRI) was reformatted. The standard 2D MRI protocol and reformatted 3D MRI protocol (three sagittal 2D sequence images plus 3D MRI) were independently analyzed by two radiologists concerning presence or absence of lesions in the menisci, cartilage, and ligament. Interobserver agreements in both the MRI protocols were assessed by weighted-kappa coefficients. Regarding diagnostic accuracy, areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves (Az values) of both the MRI protocols were compared.ResultsThirty-eight meniscal lesions, 39 cartilage lesions, and 20 ligamentous lesions were surgically detected. Excellent interobserver agreements (kappa = 0.91–0.98) were seen in both the MRI protocols, with a slightly better tendency in the reformatted 3D MRI protocol. Average Az values in detection of the meniscal, cartilage, and ligamentous lesions were significantly higher in the reformatted 3D MRI protocol than in the standard 2D MRI protocol (p < 0.01 or p < 0.001).ConclusionRoutine use of reformatted thin-section 3D MRI using 3D FSE sequences with a variable flip angle technique may improve diagnostic accuracy and confidence in detection of internal derangements of the knee joint.  相似文献

The relative contributions of Néel and Brownian relaxations on magnetic heat dissipation were studied by investigating the physical, magnetic and heating characteristics of magnetite nanoparticle suspensions with average diameters of 12.5 and 15.7 nm. Heating characteristics depended on the dispersion states of particles. The specific absorption rates (SAR) dropped by 27% for the 12.5 nm particles to 16.8×10−9 W g−1 Oe−2 Hz−1 and by 67% for the 15.7 nm particles to 9.69×10−9 W g−1 Oe−2 Hz−1, when the particle rotation was suppressed by dispersing magnetite nanoparticles in hydro-gel.  相似文献

Normalized noise energy as an acoustic measure to evaluate pathologic voice   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
In order to evaluate noise components included in pathologic voice signals, a novel acoustic measure, normalized noise energy (NNE), is proposed and its effectiveness for the detection of laryngeal pathologies is investigated with 250 vowel samples spoken by 64 control (normal) subjects and 186 patients with various laryngeal diseases. The NNE is automatically computed from the voice signals using an adaptive comb filtering method performed in the frequency domain. Experiments with the voice samples show that the NNE is especially effective for detecting glottic cancer, recurrent nerve paralysis, and vocal cord nodules. Specifically, when glottic cancer is represented in terms of the T classification adopted by the UICC (Union Internationale Contre le Cancer), glottic T2-T4 cancer can be perfectly discriminated from normal samples, but 22.6% of patients with glottic T1 cancer are incorrectly classified as normal, with an error rate of 9.4% for normal subjects.  相似文献

The 11B nuclear magnetic resonance in a dense Kondo system CeB6 has been observed by the spin echo technique below 4.2 K at fixed frequencies of 2.5, 6.5, 13.33 and 18.00 MHz, which correspond to magnetic fields of 1.83, 4.76, 9.76 and 13.18 KOe for the free 11B nucleus, respectively. The spectra in the phase II appeared to have two peaks in the magnetic field applied in the [111] direction, the spacing of which was found to be very small in zero external field and increased monotonically (up to 0.11 kOe at 2.6 K) with increasing field. On the other hand, the spectra in the phase III were complex. Especially, the spectra observed for [111] at 6.5 MHz were found to spread over 1.9 KOe and to have several peaks. From comparison between the experiments and the dipolar field calculation based on the recent neutron diffraction measurements, possible magnetic structures were examined for the phases II and III.  相似文献
