The responses of two liquid scintillators to neutron irradiation are investigated. Monoenergetic neutrons are obtained in the reaction d + 2H → 3He + n in different configurations of a coincidence experiment involving the detection of both neutrons and the 3He nucleus. In the experiment, the 15 MeV deuteron beam from the U-120 accelerator at the Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics, Moscow State University, hits a target of deuterated polyethylene, and the secondary neutrons obtained in the reaction irradiate the EJ-301 and EJ-315 liquid scintillators under study. 相似文献

Saturation transfer EPR spectroscopy is used to study the photoinduced conformational changes of spin-labeled (Cys140 and Cys316) rhodopsin in a photoreceptor membrane. Illumination of rhodopsin with “yellow” light (λ > 450 nm), converting it from the dark form into metarhodopsin II, a physiologically active form, is accompanied by an increase in the mobility of the cytoplasmic loop (Cys140) and eighth alpha-helix (Cys316), whereas the subsequent illumination with “blue” light (λ < 445 nm), which converts metarhodopsin II into a mixture of inactive photoregenerated products, results in a decrease in the mobility. The restoration of the specific features of the photoinduced changes in the conformational mobility of the cytoplasmic loops of rhodopsin regenerated in the dark is demonstrated. 相似文献

Data obtained in recent years for the neutron–neutron scattering length in nd and dd breakup reactions are analyzed. Serious discrepancies between experimental data from different studies may be explained by the effect of three-nucleon forces depending on the velocity of separation of a neutron–neutron pair and a charged fragment. It is shown that the data under analysis can be approximated by a smooth curve representing the dependence of the scattering length on the parameter R, which determines the fragment-separation distance after a fixed time. This dependence makes it possible to obtain the scatteringlength value for R→∞—that is, in the absence of the effect of three-nucleon forces. 相似文献

The carbon fibers obtained by carbonization of polyacrylonitrile fibers were studied by electron paramagnetic resonance and X-ray diffraction analysis in the range of small and wide scattering angles. Their elastic and strength characteristics were also studied. The concentration of the paramagnetic centers was correlated with the mechanical properties of carbon fibers. The wide-angle X-ray diffraction study did not reveal essential structural differences in the carbon fiber samples with different mechanical properties. At the same time, the small-angle X-ray scattering study showed that the fiber nanostructures with different mechanical properties differ substantially. 相似文献
