New near-infrared luminescent, monoclinic CaAl2O4:Er3+ phosphor was prepared by using the combustion route at furnace temperatures as low as 500 °C in a few minutes. Combustion synthesized phosphor has been well characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive analysis of X-ray (EDAX) mapping studies. The luminescence spectra of Er3+-doped calcium aluminate were studied at UV (380 nm), vis (488 nm) and IR (980 nm) excitation. Upon UV and vis excitation, the CaAl2O4:Er3+ phosphor exhibits emission bands at ~523 nm and at ~547 nm, corresponding to transitions from the 2H11/2 and 4S3/2 erbium levels to the 4I15/2 ground state. A strong luminescence at 1.55 μm in the infrared (IR) region due to 4I13/24I15/2 transition has been observed in CaAl2O4:Er3+ phosphor upon 980 nm CW pumping. In the spectrum of IR-excited up-conversion luminescence, green (~523 and ~547 nm) and red (662 nm) luminescence bands were present, the latter associated with the 4F9/24I15/2 transitions of Er3+ ions. Both excited state absorption and energy transfer may be proposed as processes responsible for the population of the 4S3/2 and 4F9/2 erbium levels upon IR excitation. The mechanisms responsible for the up-conversion luminescence are discussed.  相似文献

The fusion evaporation reaction 122Sn(14N, 4n)132La was used to populate the high-spin states of 132La at the beam energy of 60 MeV. A new band consisting of mostly E2 transitions has been discovered. This band has the interesting links to the ground state 2- and the isomeric state 6-. A new transition of energy 351 keV connecting the low-spin states of the positive-parity band based on the πh 11/2 ⊗ νh 11/2 particle configuration, has been found. This has played a very important role in resolving the existing ambiguities and inconsistencies in the spin assignment of the band head. The spins of Ru5+ ions in Sr2YRuO6 form a face-centered cubic lattice with antiferromagnetic nearest neighbor interaction J≈25 meV. The antiferromagnetic structure of the first type experimentally observed below the Néel temperature T N =26 K corresponds to four frustrated spins of 12 nearest neighbors. In the Heisenberg model in the spin-wave approximation, the frustrations already cause instability of the antiferromagnetic state at T=0 K. This state is stabilized by weak anisotropy D or exchange interaction I with the next-nearest neighbors. Low D/JI/J~10?3 values correspond to the experimental T N and sublattice magnetic moment values.  相似文献

A system consisting of two interacting particles, one of which has the angular momentum 1/2 and the other of which has an arbitrary angular momentum (a muonium-like system) is considered. The possibility of reconstruction of all the elements of the spin density matrix with the help of the μSR method is shown. For entangled states (Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen and Schrödinger cat states), the time dependence of components of the polarization vector (μSR photographs) is demonstrated. It is shown that, to identify these states, two μSR photographs suffice.  相似文献

We investigated the magnetic behavior of nanosized zinc ferrite with the help of vibrating sample magnetometry and in-field Mössbauer spectroscopy. The nanoparticles of zinc ferrite with crystallite size ranging from 10 to 62 nm were synthesized by a nitrate method. The structure and phase were determined with the help of X-ray diffraction. Attributes of cation inversion were found with the calculated values of lattice parameter. The saturation magnetization decreases with the increase in crystallite size at room temperature, while these values are almost the same at 10 K for all the samples except the one with crystallite size of 10 nm. The thermal magnetization measurement shows a decrease in blocking temperature with increase in particle size for these samples. The synthesized samples exhibit the presence of antiferromagnetic ordering below the blocking temperature as investigated by in-field Mössbauer spectroscopy.  相似文献

In the present work zinc ferrite nanoparticles of different crystallite size were irradiated with 200 MeV Ag15+ ion beam. The structural and magnetic characterization performed for these samples indicate the presence of size dependent irradiation induced changes in the nanoparticles. The superparamgnetic nanoparticles do not alter their behavior after irradiation; however paramagnetic samples exhibit weak ferrimagnetism in the irradiated specimen. Results obtained from these measurements are in agreement with results obtained from the electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy.  相似文献

Experimental observations of optical bistability in Coumarin-450 dye molecule entrapped in polymeric (PMMA) host inside Fabry–Perot cavity have been reported. Efforts have been made to demonstrate the nonlinear behavior of optical materials in solid form using 532 nm of Nd: YAG laser. The nonlinearity in terms of optical bistability and excited state absorption (ESA) has been discussed. The nonlinearity in Coumarin-450 dye molecule originated from unique intensity dependence of the complex index of refraction. It has been observed that nonlinear refraction dominates over nonlinear absorption in giving rise to the optical bistability. Nonlinear refractive index in both polymeric and liquid samples has been calculated.  相似文献

Sol–gel routes to metal oxide nanoparticles in organic solvents under exclusion of water have become a versatile alternative to aqueous methods. We focus on the preparation of well-aligned ZnO nanorod arrays using non-aqueous sol–gel synthesis route, where ZnO nanorods arrays have been grown on glass substrates. This work provides a systematic study of controlled morphology and crystallinity of ZnO nanorod arrays. The investigation demonstrates that the synthesis process conditions of ZnO thin film have strong influences on the morphology and crystallinity of the ZnO nanorod arrays grown thereon, where non-aqueous process offers the possibility of better understanding and controlling the reaction pathways on the molecular level, enabling the synthesis of nanomaterials with high crystallinity and well-defined, uniform particle morphologies. Here the annealing temperature plays an important role on the growth of nanostructures of the ZnO grains and nanorod arrays. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image shows that the growth of ZnO nanorod arrays are high-quality single crystals growing along the c-axis perpendicular to the substrates. A detailed analysis of the growth characteristics of ZnO nanostructures as functions of growth time is also reported.  相似文献

Tb3+ doped CaZrO3 has been prepared by an easy solution combustion synthesis method. The combustion derived powder was investigated by X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry and scanning electron microscopy techniques. A room temperature photoluminescence study showed that the phosphors can be efficiently excited by 251 nm light with a weak emission in the blue and orange region and a strong emission in green light region. CaZrO3:Tb3+ exhibits three thermoluminescence (TL) glow peaks at 126 °C, 200 °C and 480 °C. Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) studies were carried out to study the defect centres induced in the phosphor by gamma irradiation and also to identify the centres responsible for the TL peaks. The room temperature ESR spectrum of irradiated phosphor appears to be a superposition of two distinct centres. One of the centres (centre I) with principal g-value 2.0233 is identified as an O? ion. Centre II with an axial symmetric g-tensor with principal values g=1.9986 and g?=2.0023 is assigned to an F+ centre (singly ionised oxygen vacancy). An additional defect centre is observed during thermal annealing experiments and this centre (assigned to F+ centre) seems to originate from an F centre (oxygen vacancy with two electrons). The F centre and also the F+ centre appear to correlate with the observed high temperature TL peak in CaZrO3:Tb3+ phosphor.  相似文献
