The solid particles are adsorbed at interfaces and form self-assembled structures when the particles have suitable wettability to both liquids. Here, we show theoretically how the microstructure on the particle surface affects their adsorption properties. The physical properties of the interface adsorbing a particle will be described by taking into account the surface roughness due to the microstructure. The microstructure on the surface changes drastically the wettability and the equilibrium position of the adsorbed particle. Therefore, the contact angle of the particle at the three-phase contact line shifts with the particle surface area, because the surface roughness enhances the interfacial properties of the particle surface. Moreover, the range of the interfacial tensions at which the particle is adsorbed becomes narrower with the increase of the surface roughness. The effect of the particle shape on the adsorption properties is also studied. In the case of disk-shaped particles, the energy changes discontinuously when the plane surface of the particle contacts the liquid-liquid interface. The adsorbing position does not change with the surface roughness. The orientation of a parallelepiped particle at the liquid-liquid interface is governed by the aspect ratio and the surface area of the particle. On the other hand, the particle which is partially covered with the microstructured surface is adsorbed firmly at the interface in an oriented state. We should consider not only the interfacial tensions but also the surface structure and the particle shape to control the adsorption behavior of the particle.  相似文献

In the field of pattern recognition or decision making theory, the important subjects are as follows: (1) ambiguity of property of objects, (2) variety of character of objects, (3) subjectivity of observers, (4) evolution of knowledge of observers (i.e. learning). Considering these points, the concept of probabilistic set is proposed. It is based on both probability theory and fuzzy concepts. A probabilistic set on a total space is defined by a point wise measurable function from a parameter space (which is a probability space) to a characteristic space (which is a measurable space). It is shown that the family of all probabilistic sets constitutes a complete pseudo-Boolean algebra. Moment analysis is possible by using a probability measure of the parameter space. Other useful concepts are also mentioned such as probabilistic mappings and expected cardinal numbers.  相似文献

A rare sugar is considered to be a monosaccharide rarely found in nature. To investigate their natural distribution and biological roles, a robust analytical system must be used to isolate, identify, and quantify them. Herein, we report the development of such a system that can specifically quantify and chromatographically separate four aldopentoses and eight aldohexoses tagged with 2-aminopyridine. Purified monosaccharides derivatized with a pyridylamino moiety (PA–monosaccharides) are first chromatographed over a high-performance anion-exchange resin. But, because two of the PA–aldohexoses used in this study, PA–talose and PA–idose, co-elute with the common saccharides, PA–glucose and PA–mannose, respectively, a second chromatographic step, reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography, is used to completely separate them. Thus, as shown by the results of this study, chromatographic separation of PA–monosaccharides is achievable and provides a quantitative measurement of common and rare isomeric aldopentoses and aldohexoses.  相似文献

Ryanodine is a potent calcium channel modulator. In this Letter, we report the 10-step synthesis of the highly substituted tricyclic ring system of ryanodine. Diels-Alder reaction via dearomatization of 2,5-dimethylbenzene-1,4-diol and subsequent SmI2-mediated reductive coupling of eight-membered 1,5-diketone efficiently introduced the four consecutive fully substituted carbons of the tricyclo[3.3.2.02,6]decane system.  相似文献

It has been proven that the code lengths of Tardos’s collusion-secure fingerprinting codes are of theoretically minimal order with respect to the number of adversarial users (pirates). However, the code lengths can be further reduced as some preceding studies have revealed. In this article we improve a recent discrete variant of Tardos’s codes, and give a security proof of our codes under an assumption weaker than the original Marking Assumption. Our analysis shows that our codes have significantly shorter lengths than Tardos’s codes. For example, when c = 8, our code length is about 4.94% of Tardos’s code in a practical setting and about 4.62% in a certain limit case. Our code lengths for large c are asymptotically about 5.35% of Tardos’s codes. The enantiomeric resolution of N-t-butyloxycarbonyl (N-t-Boc) amino acids D/L isomers by reversed-phase HPLC was investigated using cyclodextrins (CD's) as chiral selectors for the mobile phase. The use of a low pH (pH<4) for the mobile phase enabled the enantioseparation of N-t-Boc amino acids. The opposite elution order of D/L isomers was observed when hydroxypropyl-derivatized beta-CD was used instead of native beta-CD. A computer simulation of the enantioseparation showed that the ratio of the retention factors of the chiral selector and the sample determined the elution order and the resolution. When the retention factor of the chiral selector is smaller than that of the sample, an isomer having larger complex formation constant eluted faster. However, when the chiral selector had a larger retention factor than the sample, an opposite elution order of the isomers was obtained. The large difference in the retention factors between the chiral selector and the sample led to good enantiomeric separation.  相似文献

A simple and rapid in situ preconcentration method for the determination of phosphate in environmental waters has been developed for field analysis. This method is based on solid-phase extraction on a zirconium-loaded Sep-Pack Accell CM cartridge (Zr-SP) and is applicable to studies in which sampling is performed by use of a graduated syringe to prevent contamination and to ensure easy operation at sampling sites. The Zr-SP cartridge was prepared by passing 0.1 mol L–1 zirconium solution through a Sep-Pak Accell CM cartridge, packed with cation exchange sorbent based on a silica matrix. The adsorption of phosphate and its desorption depend only on the pH of the solution. A water sample containing phosphate was adjusted to pH 2 and passed through the Zr-SP cartridge to collect it. The retained phosphate was quantitatively eluted with 0.5 mol L–1 sodium hydroxide solution. The phosphate retained in the Zr-SP cartridge was stable for at least one month. The established preconcentration method was successfully applied to brackish lake waters to investigate seasonal changes in the distribution and behavior of phosphate in a brackish lake.  相似文献
