Silver-based quaternary glasses were prepared by splat quenching technique. X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry were done for confirming their amorphous nature. The conductivity of the glasses was measured in the frequency range from 1 Hz to 32 MHz from room temperature to 373 K. Conductivity data, which obeys the Arrhenius type behavior, shows minimum at 30 mol% Ag2O, suggesting that the conductivity mechanisms are different above and below these two regions. The minimum in conductivity is accompanied by an inverse behavior of activation energy. Experimental data suggests that a polaron hopping mechanism operates in the electronically conducting domain of 20 ≤ × ≤ 30, and an interstitial pair mechanism operates in the ionically conducting domain of 35 ≤ × ≤ 55.  相似文献

A highly efficient route for the conversion of the antimalarial drug artemisinin to a novel hydroxy-functionalized tricyclic 1,2,4-trioxane 6 is reported. Neither the trioxane 6 nor its derivatives 14-16, all of which lack the hydrolytically unstable acetal-lactone linkage, show antimalarial activity comparable with that of artemisinin.  相似文献

Cholesterol is essential for normal human health, but elevations in its serum levels have led to the development of various complications, including hypercholesterolemia (HC). Cholesterol accumulation in blood circulation formsplaques on artery walls and worsens the individuals’ health. To overcome this complication, different pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches are employed to reduce elevated blood cholesterol levels. Atorvastatin and rosuvastatin are the most commonly used drugs, but their prolonged use leads to several acute side effects. In recent decades, the potential benefit of ingesting yogurt on lipid profile has attracted the interest of researchers and medical professionals worldwide. This review aims to give an overview of the current knowledge about HC and the different therapeutic approaches. It also discusses the health benefits of yogurt consumption and highlights the overlooked phyto-enrichment option to enhance the yogurt’s quality. Finally, clinical studies using different phyto-enriched yogurts for HC management are also reviewed. Yogurt has a rich nutritional value, but its processing degrades the content of minerals, vitamins, and other vital constituents with beneficial health effects. The option of enriching yogurt with phytoconstituents has drawn a lot of attention. Different pre-clinical and clinical studies have provided new insights on their benefits on gut microbiota and human health. Thus, the yogurtphyto-enrichment with stanol and β-glucan have opened new paths in functional food industries and found healthy andeffective alternatives for HC all along with conventional treatment approaches.  相似文献

The present study deals with the development and characterization of self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS) to improve the oral bioavailability of poorly soluble third generation calcium channel blocker lercanidipine (LER). Solubility of the LER was estimated in various oils, cosurfactants and surfactants which were grouped into two different combinations to construct pseudoternary phase diagrams. Various thermodynamic stability and dispersibility tests were performed on the formulations from phase diagram. After constructing phase diagram of two different combinations NL-I and NL-II, the effect of cosurfactants on the nanoemulsifying area was studied and the effect of number and length of hydrophobic alkyl chains of cosurfactant in its emulsification capacity was proved. Percentage transmittance, emulsification time, viscosity and droplet size analysis were used to characterize optimized formulations. The optimized formulation composed of Cremophor EL (45% wt/wt), (13.5% wt/wt) Caproyl 90 with (1.5% wt/wt) Transcutol® HP as per limits of inactive ingredients guidelines of FDA and Maisine oil (10% wt/wt). The mean droplet size in selected nanocarrier system was 20.01 nm. The in vitro dissolution profile of LER SNEDDS was found significant in comparison to the marketed LER (Zanidip) tablet and pure drug in pH 1.2, 4.5 and 6.8 buffers. Empty hard gelatin capsule shells were filled using Pfizer's Licap technology and charged on stability conditions of 30 °C/65% RH, 40 °C/65%RH and 50 °C/75% in glass bottles where no significant degradation (p > 0.05) was observed in 3 months. The results indicate that SNEDDS of LER, owing to nanosized, has potential to enhance the absorption of drug.  相似文献

In recent years, a significant interest has been generated in discovering and developing exopolysaccharides (EPS) produced by microorganisms, especially fungi due to their multifaceted industrial and pharmacological applications. A number of filamentous and cellular fungi have been explored for this; however, according to the existing literature, the work on exopolysaccharide production by indigenous culture on this aspect is still very less and requires a serious attention. The present work is an attempt in this regard and aims to optimize the submerged culture conditions to produce the exopolysaccharides from an indigenous yeast Aureobasidium pullulans RYLF-10 with respect to several operating parameters in shake flask fermentation. The yeast A. pullulans RYLF-10 was identified by 18s RNA sequencing and detailed study on its nutritional requirements, and environmental conditions for submerged culture have been optimized. The optimal temperature and pH for both the vegetative growth and EPS production were found to be 28?±?1 °C and 5.0, respectively, while the agitation speed and inoculum size were reported to be 150 rpm and 1 % (v/v), respectively. Sucrose (50 g/l) and yeast extract (1 g/l) were found to be the most suitable carbon and nitrogen sources which worked best in the ratio of 60:1 and resulted in the maximum EPS yield. Similarly, the other variables like growth regulator (riboflavin) and minerals (NaCl?+?K2HPO4?+?MgSO4) altogether resulted in a noteworthy EPS yield of 45.24 g/l which is the maximum yield from this indigenous isolate of A. pullulans RYLF-10.  相似文献

In the present study, Ag+-ion conducting polyethylene oxide–polymethyl methacrylate based polymer blend electrolyte systems plasticized using different plasticizers, i.e., ethylene carbonate and polyethylene glycol, are reported. The polymer films were synthesized using the solution cast technique and characterized by differential scanning calorimetry technique. Electrical properties of polymer films were investigated by impedance spectroscopy in the frequency range of 2 MHz–10 Hz at temperature range from 303 to 373 K. Discussion of electrical properties of polymer films in the terms of conductivity and relaxation times is made.  相似文献

It is well known that experiments of charging and later discharging of materials with gas ignition probes or hand-coulombmeters show that some insulating materials do exist that cannot be hazardously charged by manual rubbing in spite of their high surface resistance. In this work, effects of variations of physical and chemical properties as well as the structure of these materials have been systematically investigated. The results obtained help to explain this behavior and propose approaches to predict the charging behavior of such insulating materials without any charging test at all.  相似文献
