Synthesis of a cyclodextrin (CD) polyrotaxane is achieved for the first time by simultaneous free radical polymerization of isoprene, threading by CD, and stoppering by copolymerization of styrene. This reaction is performed in an eco‐friendly manner in an aqueous medium similar to classical emulsion polymerization. Threaded CD rings of the polyrotaxane are cross‐linked by hexamethylene diisocyanate, leading to highly elastic slide‐ring gels.

A series of amphiphilic end‐linked conetworks was synthesized by the combination of two “quasiliving” polymerization techniques, quasiliving carbocationic (QLCCP) and group transfer polymerizations (GTP). The hydrophobic monomer was polyisobutylene methacrylate synthesized by the QLCCP of isobutylene and subsequent terminal modification reactions. The hydrophilic monomer was methacrylic acid (MAA) introduced via the polymerization of 2‐tetrahydropyranyl methacrylate followed by acid hydrolysis after (co)network formation. The conetwork syntheses were performed by sequential monomer/crosslinker additions under GTP conditions. All the precursors and the extractables from the conetworks were characterized by gel permeation chromatography and 1H NMR. The resulting polymer conetworks were investigated in terms of their degree of swelling (DS) in aqueous media and in tetrahydrofuran (THF) over the whole range of ionization of the MAA units and in n‐hexane for uncharged conetworks. The DSs in water increased with the degree of ionization (DI) of the MAA units and the hydrophilic content in the conetwork, whereas the DSs in THF increased with the reduction of the DI of the MAA units. The effective pK of the MAA units in the conetworks increased from 8.4 to 10.5 with decreasing MAA content. These findings can facilitate the design of similar unique conetworks with adjustable swelling behavior and composition‐dependent pK values. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The kinetics of oxidation of ethanol by bromate ion in hydrochloric acid medium has been investigated. The reaction involves the formation of the intermediate bromate ester which is facilitated by the methyl group in ethanol but the electron attracting character (F>Cl>Br) of the halogens attached to the -carbon of the alcohol makes the esterification more difficult.

We present proofs, based on the Shapley–Folkman theorem, of the convexity of the range of a strongly continuous, finitely additive measure, as well as that of an atomless, countably additive measure. We also present proofs, based on diagonalization and separation arguments respectively, of the closure of the range of a purely atomic or purely nonatomic countably additive measure. A combination of these results yields Lyapunov’s celebrated theorem on the range of a countably additive measure. We also sketch, through a comprehensive bibliography, the pervasive diversity of the applications of the Shapley–Folkman theorem in mathematical economics.  相似文献

The influence of interfacial structure on interfacial properties between activated carbon filler and surrounding organic matrix of composites has been studied by infrared and NMR spectroscopy. Urea, semicarbazide and ethylurethane, component parts of polyurethane, have been used as organic model compounds in order to predict the interactions between the activated carbon surface and polar groups of real polyurethane molecule. It was shown that organic matrix/activated carbon interphase presented a region where the filler and matrix phases were chemically and/or physically combined. The spectra of the organic matrix undergo significant changes with increase of carbon content. Due to the surface reactive functionalities the activated carbon is considered not only as filler, influenced on the sorption properties of the composition, but also as a physicochemical modifier of the polyurethane matrix.  相似文献

The paper concerns vibration surveillance during ball end milling of curved flexible details. Here is explained dynamic analysis of non-stationary vibrating system, from which are separated subsystems: modal, structural and connective. An assessment of coincidence of the calculation model results with those from investigation on milling machine is performed. Ball end milling of flexible details is observed very frequently in case of modern machining centres. It is obvious that tool-workpiece relative vibration plays principal role during cutting process. The most important task is to create a FE-model of machined flexible detail and obtain its good correlation with the results of experimental modal analysis. (© 2009 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
