Deuteron photodisintegration within the Quark-Gluon Strings Model and QCD motivated nonlinear Regge trajectories

We investigate deuteron two-body photodisintegration within the framework of the Quark-Gluon Strings Model with nonlinear baryon Regge trajectories. Special attention is paid to the use of QCD motivated Regge trajectories of the logarithmic and square-root form. We find that the recent experimental data from TJNAF in the few-GeV region can be reasonably described by the model. Angular distributions at different γ-energies are presented and the effect of a forward-backward asymmetry is discussed. Predictions for the energy dependence of dσ/dt at higher energies and different Θ_c.m. are presented, too. Received: 12 March 2001 / Accepted: 19 March 2001

Experimental study and mathematical modeling of the behavior of St.3, 20Kh13, and 08Kh18N10T steels in wide ranges of strain rates and temperatures

Results of an experimental study of the behavior of St.3, 20Kh13, and 08Kh18N10T steels under static and dynamic loading are reported. The influence of the strain rate and temperature on characteristics of strength and plasticity is studied. Based on the data obtained, the parameters of the Johnson–Cook model are determined. This model is used in commercial software to describe the yield surface radius as a function of loading parameters. The adequacy of the identified model is verified in a series of special test experiments.     

The pomeron-particle total cross section and diffractive production of showers at very high energies

The experimental data of ISR and NAL for the process pp → pX are used for the determination of the pomeron-particle total cross section and the triple-pomeron vertex. Estimates of the cross sections of the diffractive production of one and several showers of particles are given. It is shown that at s ～ 10³ GeV² the cross section of all inelastic diffractive processes is ～ 6 mb and grows with energy. A theoretical estimate of the amplitude of pomeron-pomeron scattering is given.
