The problem of calculating the thermodynamic properties of two-dimensional semiclassical hard-body fluids is studied. Explicit expressions are given for the first-order quantum corrections to the free energy, equation of state, and virial coefficients. The numerical results are calculated for the planar hard dumbbell fluid. Significant features are the increase in quantum corrections with increasing eta and increasing L*=L/sigma(0).  相似文献

Although it is impossible to manufacture identical columns for use in a simulated moving bed (SMB) process, theoretical studies assume that all the columns in an SMB unit have identical characteristics. In practice, calculations in modeling and optimization studies are made with the average values of each column parameter set. In this report, the effects on SMB process performance caused by column-to-column fluctuations of the parameters are discussed. As a first step, we show how the differences in porosity of the columns may be taken into account with a revised set of separation conditions. Reductions in the purity of the extract and the raffinate streams are quantitatively related to the column-to-column fluctuations of the retention times of the two components arising from these porosity differences. For the sake of simplicity, the discussion first addresses the case of a four-column SMB operating under linear conditions. Then, the scope is extended to the cases of SMB units incorporating several columns in each section and to SMB units operating under nonlinear conditions.  相似文献

Evaluation of the particle beam glow discharge mass spectrometry (PB-GDMS) system as a detector for liquid chromatography (LC) is described for the analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, steroids, selenoamino acids, and alkyllead compounds. A particle beam interface is used to introduce analyte species from the LC into a glow discharge source for subsequent vaporization and ionization. Mass spectra display classic EI fragmentation patterns for the organic compounds, as well as elemental and molecular information for the organometallic compounds. Chromatographic separations display good temporal correlation between UV and PB-GDMS detection modes. Detection limits for Pb in lead nitrate, triethyllead, and triphenyllead fall in the sub-ppb (ng) range.  相似文献

For the study of ionized van der Waals cluster ions an instrument is presented, which consists of a supersonic beam cluster source coupled to an ICR spectrometer with external ion source. The neutral van der Waals clusters are generated by supersonic expansion and ionized by electron impact in the external source. The cluster ions are extracted at right angle to the neutral cluster beam and fly collision-free parallel to the magnetic field direction into the differentially pumped ICR cell. For the ion transfer, an improved lens system is presented. The cluster ion transfer lens system is capable of focusing ions with energies of a few eV perpendicular to the magnetic field direction through the differential pumping orifice. The ions are injected into the ICR cell with a trap barrier pulse, ion accumulation is possible. With this system the first ICR spectra of small cluster ions of carbon dioxide are obtained.  相似文献

The thermolysis of compounds of the type Cp2VR (R = aryl) in the solid state has been studied. A distinct increase in thermal stability is observed upon substitution of the ortho-position of the aryl group. Thermal decomposition occurs with formation of RH, Cp2 V, a vanadocene homologue with the group R substituted in one of the Cp rings and, probably, a vanadocene homologue with two substituted Cp rings. It is shown that the abstraction of the hydrogen atom from the cyclopentadienyl ring, necessary for the formation of RH, is an intermolecular process, whereas the substitution of the aryl group in the Cp ring is intramolecular. A decomposition mechanism is proposed in which the group R is transferred from the vanadium atom to the C5H5 ring of the same molecule by interaction with an aryl group of another molecule. The thermal decomposition of Cp2VR is compared with that of the analogous titanium compounds.  相似文献

For a model system of two nonequivalent nuclei with spin 1/2, the NMR spectrum of one of the nuclei has been calculated under conditions of pumping of the second spin, and a study has been made of the spectral transformation upon changing the times of transverse and longitudinal relaxation of both spins. It has been established that the form of the spectrum undergoes qualitative changes. An increase in the rate of transverse relaxation not only broadens the observed lines, but simultaneously changes the character of motion of the spins in the pumping field: With increasing relaxation rate, the motion is converted from coherent motion (nutation) to incoherent motion (transitions between levels, saturation effect). The E ? Z photoisomerization of the title compound (UA) (a naturally occurring sunscreen) has been studied in aqueous solution. At a UA concentration of 6mM and using 313nm excitation, φE→z= 0.52, φZ→E= 0.47 and the photostationary state is 34% E. Under these conditions, loss of UA is minimal. Low energy triplet quenchers fail to impede the isomerization, but the reaction can be induced by several triplet sensitizers. The ET for UA is estimated to be approximately 55 kcal/mol.  相似文献

The alkylhalide-halide association ions, [RX2]? that are observed in the negative chemical ionization mass spectra of alkyl halides appear to be directly related to the corresponding SN2 transition states in solution. ‘Frontside’ association of halide ions with bridgehead alkyl halides does not occur in our system. The Change in heats and entropies of association for the chloromethane series is consistent with delocalization in the [RX]2? ions.  相似文献

Examination of a large number of spectra indicates that bis-unsaturated compounds commonly undergo a skeletal rearrangement in which part or all or the bridging moiety is eliminated, often with concomitant loss of hydrogen atoms. The spectra of labeled azobenzene, diphenyl sulfide, and their p,p′-dimethyl derivatives show that scrambling of hydrogen atoms precedes or accompanies such rearrangements, in contrast to the loss of a p-methyl group from the latter derivatives. These results are rationalized in terms of the radical site formed on one unsaturated functional group attacking the polarizable π-electrons of the other unsaturated group.  相似文献
