In this paper, it is shown how a percolation process can be used to describe the inhomogeneities of polymer concentration, appearing in gels prepared by random crosslinking of a semi-dilute solution, and how they are modified by swelling or stretching of the network. Neutron scattering experimental data are compared to the predictions of this model in the isotropic and anisotropic cases. A good agreement is found. In particular, “abnormal” butterfly patterns in the iso-intensity curves have been detected, as expected from the model. 相似文献

In this paper, we examine the effects of the
gravitational field on the dynamical evolution of the cavity-field
entropy and the creation of the Schr?dinger-cat state in the
Jaynes-Cummings model. We consider a moving two-level atom
interacting with a single mode quantized cavity-field in the
presence of a classical homogeneous gravitational field. Based on
an
su(2) algebra, as the dynamical symmetry group of the model, we derive the reduced density operator of the cavity-field
which includes the effects of the atomic motion and the gravitational field. Also, we obtain the exact solution and the approximate
solution for the system-state vector, and examine the atomic dynamics. By considering the temporal evolution of the
cavity-field entropy as well as the dynamics of the Q-function of the cavity-field we study the effects of the gravitational
field on the generation of the Schr?dinger-cat states of the cavity-field by using the Q-function,
field entropy and approximate solution for the system-state vector. The results show that the

This paper presents a biased random-key genetic algorithm for the resource constrained project scheduling problem. The chromosome
representation of the problem is based on random keys. Active schedules are constructed using a priority-rule heuristic in
which the priorities of the activities are defined by the genetic algorithm. A forward-backward improvement procedure is applied
to all solutions. The chromosomes supplied by the genetic algorithm are adjusted to reflect the solutions obtained by the
improvement procedure. The heuristic is tested on a set of standard problems taken from the literature and compared with other

In a topological space, a family of continuous mappings is called universal if its action, in at least one element of the space, is dense. If the mappings are unitary or trace-preserving completely positive, the notion of universality is closely related to the notion of controllability in either closed or open quantum systems. Quantum controllability in infinite dimensions is discussed in this setting and minimal generators are found for full control universal families. Some of the requirements of the operators needed for control in infinite dimensions follow from the properties of the infinite unitary group. The equilibrium tilt angle profile in a cell limited by two concentric cylinders filled with nematic liquid crystals is determined for strong homeotropic anchoring at the surfaces. The anchoring condition is such that the nematic director is perpendicular to the cylinder axes and a radial nonuniform electric field is applied to investigate a Fréedericksz transition. The distortions induced by the field remain in the plane perpendicular to the cylinder axes, and a threshold field is analytically determined indicating a transition from a pure splay to a splay-bend conformation of the director. It is shown that this transition can be induced by the thickness of the region between the two cylinders, and can be detected even in the absence of an external field. If the maximum value of the tilt angle is assumed as an order parameter, its behavior near to the transition can be used to obtain the critical exponent, which is the same as the one obtained in the mean field approximation. These results are indications that nontrivial consequences may occur when complex fluids are subject to non-planar geometries. 相似文献

In the Regge kinematics the amplitude for gluon production off three scattering centers is found in the Lipatov effective action technique. The vertex for gluon emission with the reggeon splitting in three reggeons is calculated and its transversality is demonstrated. It is shown that in the sum of all contributions terms containing principal value singularities are canceled and substituted by the standard Feynman poles. These results may be used for calculation of the inclusive cross section for gluon production on two nucleons in the nucleus. 相似文献

Essential oils (EOs) and hydrolates (Hds) are natural sources of biologically active ingredients with broad applications in the cosmetic industry. In this study, nationally produced (mainland Portugal and Azores archipelago) EOs (11) and Hds (7) obtained from forest logging and thinning of Eucalyptus globulus, Pinus pinaster, Pinus pinea and Cryptomeria japonica, were chemically evaluated, and their bioactivity and sensorial properties were assessed. EOs and Hd volatiles (HdVs) were analyzed by GC-FID and GC-MS. 1,8-Cineole was dominant in E. globulus EOs and HdVs, and α- and β-pinene in P. pinaster EOs. Limonene and α-pinene led in P. pinea and C. japonica EOs, respectively. P. pinaster and C. japonica HVs were dominated by α-terpineol and terpinen-4-ol, respectively. The antioxidant activity was determined by DPPH, ORAC and ROS. C. japonica EO showed the highest antioxidant activity, whereas one of the E. globulus EOs showed the lowest. Antimicrobial activity results revealed different levels of efficacy for Eucalyptus and Pinus EOs while C. japonica EO showed no antimicrobial activity against the selected strains. The perception and applicability of emulsions with 0.5% of EOs were evaluated through an in vivo sensory study. C. japonica emulsion, which has a fresh and earthy odour, was chosen as the most pleasant fragrance (60%), followed by P. pinea emulsion (53%). In summary, some of the studied EOs and Hds showed antioxidant and antimicrobial activities and they are possible candidates to address the consumers demand for more sustainable and responsibly sourced ingredients. 相似文献
