Frontal polymerization of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) made with acrylic or methacrylic acid as the monomer and hydrogen bond donor was studied. Fronts with acrylic acid and choline chloride propagated more uniformly than with pure acrylic acid, so an exploration into how the DES affected frontal polymerization was performed. The hydrogen bond acceptor of the DES was replaced by several analogs to determine the effect on the DES front behavior. The analogs used were talc, DMSO, lauric acid, and stearic acid, which acted as a heat sink, inert diluent, hydrogen bonding diluent, and inert phase change material, respectively. None of the methacrylic acid‐analog systems were able to sustain a front. While the acrylic acid‐analog systems did sustain a front (with the exception of stearic acid), none of the fronts replicated the acrylic acid DES behavior. The acrylic acid–talc sample behaved more violently—like pure acrylic acid polymerization—than the acrylic acid DES, and the DMSO and lauric acid samples produced slower fronts than that of the acrylic acid DES. It is possible to view the relations between mathematics and natural language from different aspects. This relation between mathematics and language is not based on just one aspect. In this article, the authors address the role of the Subject facing Reality through language. Perception is defined and a mathematical theory of the perceptual field is proposed. The distinction between purely expressive language and purely informative language is considered false, because the subject is expressed in the communication of a message, and conversely, in purely expressive language, as in an exclamation, there is some information. To study the relation between language and reality, the function of ostensibility is defined and propositions are divided into ostensives and estimatives. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Given an integer k between 2 and n ? 1, we introduce a tensor ? related to H and to the second fundamental form A of M, and show that if |?|2B H,k and tr(? 3) ≤ C n,k |?|3, where B H,k and C n,k are numbers depending only on H, n and k, then either |?|2 ≡ 0 or |?|2B H,k . We characterize all M n with |?|2B H,k . We also prove that if \(\left| A \right|^2 \leqslant 2\sqrt {k(n - k)}\) and tr(? 3) ≤ C n,k |?|3 then |A|2 is constant and characterize all M n with |A|2 in the interval \(\left[ {0,2\sqrt {k\left( {n - k} \right)} } \right] \) . We also study the behavior of |?|2, with the condition additional tr(? 3) ≤ C n,k |?|3, for complete hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature immersed in space forms and show that if sup M |?|2 = B H,k and this supremum is attained in M n then M n is an isoparametric hypersurface with two distinct principal curvatures of multiplicities k y n ? k. Finally, we use rotation hypersurfaces to show that the condition on the trace of ? 3 is necessary in our results; more precisely, for each integer k with 2 ≤ kn ? 1 and \(H \geqslant 1/\sqrt {2n - 1} \) there is a complete hypersurface M n in \(\mathbb{S}^{n + 1} \) (1) with constant mean curvature H such that sup M |?|2 = B H,k , and this supremum is attained in M n , and which is not a product of spheres.  相似文献

The paper shows tools to visualize and more easily interpret the effect that some experimental factors may exert on analytical responses of interest when optimization of several responses is needed.It is based on an adaptation of the parallel coordinate plot, a tool for graphical representation of points in multidimensional spaces that, theoretically and contrary to the usual Cartesian plots, does not have limits in the dimension of the points being depicted.The joint use of the Pareto-optimal solutions and their visualization allows a deeper knowledge about the problem at hand as well as the wise selection of the conditions of experimental factors for achieving specific goals about the responses.Although the methodology is for a general use, the procedure, its interpretation and usefulness is shown with several analytical cases in chromatography. The first one refers to the experimental conditions to obtain simultaneously the maximum allowable area for both the peak of the malachite green and its metabolite leucomalachite green in fish by liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry detection (LC–MS/MS). The second one is about the simultaneous determination of steroid hormones estrone and 17-α-ethinylestradiol by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC/MS). In the last case, the chromatographic separation by GC/MS of the diastereoisomers, α- and β-estradiol is needed taking into account that these hormones have the same mass fragments.  相似文献

We study the formation mechanism of molecular junctions using break-junction experiments. We explore the contribution of gold-atom rearrangements in the electrodes by analyzing the junction stretching length, the length of individual plateaus, and the length of the gold one-atom contacts. Comparing the results for alkane dithiols and diamines, we conclude that thiols affect gold electrode dynamics significantly more than amines. This is a vital factor to be considered when comparing different binding groups.  相似文献

The effect of twaron powder on the tensile behavior and abrasion resistance of polypropylene (PP) and an ethylene‐propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM) and their blends has been investigated by means of an experimental design. The stiffness and strength of the composites with EPDM as continuous phase hardly varies with the addition of twaron powder, however, at high percentages of PP (above 50%) in the matrix, these properties decrease as powder content increases. In all cases the elongation at fracture decreases in the presence of the powder. A maximum in the abrasion resistance is observed in the 14% twaron powder filled polypropylene composite. From the results and the graphs of the response surfaces a better affinity between the twaron powder and the EPDM can be suggested. It can be also deduced that as twaron content in the composite increases, the phase inversion in the polymer matrix takes place at lower PP percentages. A good correlation between mechanical characteristics and morphological observations has been observed.  相似文献

We report here the first observation of photoluminescence spectra of GaAs epitaxial layers prepared by close space vapor transport method. At 77 K two PL signals were found, the near-band gap transition at 1,51 eV and the other at 1,4 eV. The nature of PL emission lines is discussed in relation with the features of growth method. No simple relation between the growth conditions and concentration of radiative centers was found.  相似文献
